Rob is one of the icons of dutch music. He suffers Parkinson desease so he decided to stop his stage concerts. That's why such exceptional lot of people visited his lasts concerts.
I wish I could like this one a 1000 times. Rob de Nijs is one of the best , with a career of 60 years. My absolute favorite singer. Thank you for this comment.
I've seen more than 20 of his concerts and it was always a party. To conclude, I will go to the musical about his life. I love him
I've grown up with his music, it tears me apart to see him so affected by his disease but I'm also so proud of seeing him performing these last concerts ❤

His career took off in 1960, a year before I was born. He was always there, he's an icon.
His hands so trembling and his voice still so strong. Singing his first hitsong way back Ritme van de Regen, Ritme of the Rain, every girl fell in love with him 🥰. Thanks Highly and Inge.

Rob de Nijs is one of those old icons an artist that is rarely in the news never controversial and even when he got divorced of his wife linda they still worked to gether writing songs and stayed friends . .
Something that cant be said by many .
he's been a staple singer with his own audience since the early 60's. There literally is not a person alive these days that didn't grow up with his hits over here.
He has beautiful songs, and love his voice. A icon of the Netherlands
Everyone in the Netherlands and Belgium can sing along with the songs, except for some younger people.

When I was a little girl he was here in my hometown singing for a video at the court of the old 1/2 castle we have here. And my mother was asked to be one of the 3 ladies figurants. And she did.

I have seen him so many times at concerts in al those years. H was very good looking, I have a video when he sings with cliff and I was in the audience
I remember that because I was a huge Cliff fan, who turned 82 years the 14th of oktober.
The song “Malle Babbe” is a very famous song in the Netherlands, and it’s sung at almost every party. But it was written by Lennaert Nijgh, and the music was composed by Boudewijn de Groot. Two great artists from my hometown of Haarlem. The song is about a girl which actually lived in Haarlem during the 17th century or the Dutch Golden Age. Lennaert Nijgh was inspired by the great Haarlem painter Frans Hals, which was one of the greatest portrait artists who ever lived. The song Malle Babbe is about a busty girl that could be found in the Haarlem pub scene at that period. But Lennaert Nijgh mistook Frans Hals “Gypsy Girl” for his other painting “Malle Babbe”. Malle Babbe is actually a painting of an old woman with an owl on her shoulder. She was presumed to live at the local asylum, where Frans Hals disabled son also lived. So that’s how two famous paintings from the 17th century, merged into a 20th century pub song.
