Perhaps may have evolved slightly over time. We have Tamil primary schools and the proficiency of those learnt from these schools are of course better than mine who studied in National primary school. Apart from that, we also have oppurtunity to learn Tamil language from daily News papers, TV and radio channels and now with youtube as global media. As mentioned by participants, popular shrines or kovils are dedicated for Murugan, Maariamman as well as other Dewis. Shivan and Perumal temples can be found too. Not to forget that Islamic and Christians Tamils are also contributing to the continuation and preserving Tamil language and our cultural values.
