I grew up in Hunters Point. I always walked every place I went in San Francisco. Walk around the whole City and give and get love. It was really fun. I thank San Francisco very much.
I'm a little late in seeing this, but being from Double Rock my whole life,(since 1982), I can tell you any and every race was welcomed, and not targeted like the security guard was saying. For the most part like everywhere else, it was black on black violence for the most part. It was a great place to grow up and very fun with hundreds of friends and countless memories.
Thanks for the watch! Could you please fill me in on a little info on the migration from the old to new double rock property? Still curious about how that worked out for the thousands of residents of the old property.
During the mid 90's I just got into SF and working at a electronic store. This lady bought a complete stereo system with cash. NO ONE would deliver to her home at Hunter's Point. I had a car so I volunteered. I packed her whole sale in my car. I got lost and stopped by a corner store to ask for direction. I said "Hi, I am kind of lost". The owner said "No shit you are lost! What the hell are you doing here?" I explained I need to make a delivery. He gave me directions and said "You better be out of here before 5pm". When I found the place, she called her son to get his "friends" to watch my car because she did not want my car to be stolen while I was hooking up her system. I never went near that area.
That's a lie about Double Rock, back in 92-98 me and my white friends would roll through there for dime sacks of weed any hour of the day. They loved seeing white folks because it meant money. We NEVER had any problems. Only problems we would have is when the block was hot with cops we would get crackheads rushing us with a sack of actual grass(lawn) 🤣
Thank you for sharing your tour. A huge amount of my paternal side of the family resided in Alice Griffith. I myself stayed there with my cousin Juanita for a short period of time. It’s really sad how it wasn’t able to be restored for the long term residents could afford.
Talk about it 🙏🏽 Did your family or anyone else you know end up making the successful move from the old Alice Griffith to the new property? Still fascinated by that topic
Thats one quiet hood. The internet has changed everything, so many people just stay inside online now. Like they are afraid of their neighbors. The prison industrial complex.

Very rude, you were not invited to walk up the stairs through peoples porches, probably why no one would speak to you. Sad, because actually speaking to the humans that live there, may have given you some real content.
Well, I think it’s rude that you believe I need permission to walk on PUBLIC staircases and walkways in the USA. This isn’t Adolf Hitler’s Germany in the 1940’s. We have rights here in America and should be very grateful for them 🙏🏽🖤🧡🙏🏽
@@privateeyetravelguy You are speaking to a Patriot, calm down. Your walk through the "Dark Side" was rude and pretentious, I stand firm in my comment.

When you’re talking about real estate development in a place like BV/HP, a local investor aptly put it: The year is 2015- land grab in the bayview! The year is 2021- pump and dump in the bayview! So it’s either gentrification or el shithole supreme Welcome to capitalism/Can’t have both 😂

Two jacks a hood staple down the street from my house
Spot got a ton of shoutouts in the comments. I didn’t know until you guys started raving about it 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Narrator uses all that slang but scared to walk thru nothrwood. 😂
Lol I can’t use the phrase “hood” every once and a while for commentary? Cmon “BRUH”! 😂
The Fishermans Wharf
Where’s JT the Bigga Figga? Lol
JT! The pride of Fillmore! Love a ton of his beats, the most impressive being Game’s “Untold Story” album. Crazy to think how huge of an influence he had on Game’s success.
Filmed at 6am
You don’t even know about the WATERS.
I feel like I’ve heard it in a song or two lol
You are a not from the
Sucker Free City. Fuckboy
Try east Oakland next
I’ve totally been meaning to get out there for this exact purpose !
My dad used to work at that lul center at the top of the point he used to pass out the food to the kids at the time this was like around 05-08
Loved that era in the city! Bay rap was controversially at an all time high 🔥🔥🔥
Bro said ship out the poor people lol no chill
I did not like this video. I was born and raised in HP and for the life of me, I don't know how an Asian security guard can make comments about a community. You have a job to secure the premises only. As for the homeless encampment, this video didn't mention majority living there were other cultures.
People have free thinking minds..it is what it is.
Sorry to hear that. The security guard clearly stated he heard all of that testimony about Double Rock from different people in the area
Racist much?
Ummm bro, Asians also live in BV and HP. It ain’t only black!
RIP DUTCH 4.7!!!!!!!!
THE SF BAY SMELLS LIKE DOOKIE WATER ALL THE TIME

There stores there homie there in the bay view on Williams

I’d consider the majority of 3rd more Bayview than I would HP.. that fair???
@@privateeyetravelguyit's called Bayview Hunter's Point, that's the district, it whole name

They put way too much on it.
Rio slums are 10x worse
100x ***** lol 🇧🇷💙💛💚
I am currently a resident , I could give you an interesting story if interested
Nice, living in the new Alice Griffith or just HP in general? I’m interested in stories from either or! Right on 🙏🏽
@@privateeyetravelguy yessir do you have a email I can reach you at .
When you’re talking about real estate development in a place like BV/HP, a local investor aptly put it:
The year is 2015- land grab in the bayview!
The year is 2021- pump and dump in the bayview!
So it’s either gentrification or el shithole supreme
Welcome to capitalism/Can’t have both 😂
Lol ain’t that the truth! Wayyy too many know it all fortune tellers in the RE industry! I still have a friend that’s been promising a crash the past 12 years 😂😭😆
its not a conspiracy theory fam its facts
The facts added up for me too after even further research!
