I was today years old when I figured out this entire fucking album was based on an Edgar Allen Poe poem "Annabel Lee." Their 10th song on this album is literally called "In her tomb by the sounding sea" which is exactly from the poem itself. I liked this album so much and now I have another reason to love it; Poe is one of my favorite poets.

I met these guys after seeing them at a show in high school and I got my shoes autographed by them. I wore only those shoes for the next two years. They're one of my most prized possessions as a former scene/emo kid.

I remember one time in 7th grade Theater class, there was a sticker with the word "Thespian" on it, and, having known this song from Tap Tap Revenge 3, I told the teacher there's a nice theater song about a Thespian. Told him the title of this song, he had already initiated the speakers before I could tell him it may have been a little tough for most 7th graders at that time, and the full stage was blasted with this song's opening. Nobody who had bore witness to that event spoke to me again until after entering high school.

These guys honestly hold up really well. I feel like they were on top of this style of scene metalcore/post hardcore. A lot better than bands like them at the time.

Man, as a big fan of Alesana, imagine if they do a Series based of the Annabel Trilogy and the name of the episodes are the name of the songs of the 3 albuns of this trilogy: The Emptiness, A Place Where The Sun Is Silent and Confessions, the actor that represent The Artist is Shawn, The Thespian is Dennis and Annabel is Shawn´s Wife. If they read this and actualy think of doing this i will love it.

I saw Alesana at warped tour in Boise around 09 and it was such an amazing show. The screamer was falling all over the speakers like he was drunk lol but absolutely murdered it. Katy Perry was playing on the next stage over and there was a crowd war, all of us yelling I KISSED A GIRL TOO
Just remembered how Alesana didn't just made me appreciate their awesome music which I do consider as their art, but also the literatures (works of Poe and other classic writers) that they used as inspirations to their albums and records. They are pure geniuses!
