- Here is my Bluey Theory and Breakdown of the season 1 episode The Claw aka Magic Claw. Was this an analogy for the gambling addiction issue in australia? also all the bluey easter eggs and hidden references in this episode!

I am a big fan of bluey and with season 3 airing in Australia, I thought I would do a breakdown of every episode with a small review, some spoilers, and any bluey theories that might pop up. Bluey season 1 and 2 hit disney plus two months after airing in Australia so hopefully, all of season 3 will be out for everyone soon!

My favourite line was bingo saying "hehe, bottomless". But overall this episode was great and I think the lesson was implemented perfectly.
One of my favorite moments happens when Chili read the block, then gives Bandit the stink eye and says, "You spelled 'holder' wrong." I always wondered, though, if he actually wrote something else that she wasn't willing to say in front of the kids. I mostly thought the lesson was about responsibility. You can't always rely on imagination and desire to get what you want, which is what Chili seemed to be suggesting in her pretend play; Bandit was trying to show them that you have to work for it. And I think he was also just trying to be more realistic about how claw machines are.
I can't think of a logical synonym that wouldn't be appropriate to say in front of children.
@@alexjewett7455 I thought it might be something along the lines of “unlimited ice cream for the kids and this devilishly handsome piece of work.” Chili may have thought that didn’t fit the scene for whatever reason. We may never know, though.

I always thought Chilli was upset at Bandit for trying to spoil the kids with ice cream or something like that
You know I never thought about that this was a lesson about gambling, I just thought Bandit was trying to get the kids to do work while teaching them that claw machines are a waste of money. Which now that I think about it, is pretty much gambling. People work so hard at their jobs to get money, just so they can gamble and most likely lose. My mom worked at a casino for so many years (probably more years than I’ve been alive) and she’s always told be about the people who sit in their car and cry because they’ve just lost all their rent money. Thankfully, my mom quit that job at the casino and decided to be a nurse! I hope everyone else in the world stops gambling because it’s really bad and there are better ways to earn money. I knows it’s an addiction for some, but if you work hard enough, you’ll achieve your goal. “The Queen is not afraid of a bit of hard work!” -Bluey

we have a gambling problem in the USA, in some states (especially mine) there are slots lounges EVERYWHERE. literally on every street corner its insane

It is true that overall the episode has themes of instant gratification and that working for something feels the best in the end rather than just being handed it, but isn’t the real lesson that Bluey and Bingo are awesome kids? I mean, Bandit said it himself. I think he said that because he intended to not give them the bottomless ice cream to teach the lesson that you can’t always win, but they managed to work out their own way to get the prize by tickling him.
Chili's all smug about Bandit having learned the lesson, but both of them are going to be in for it when the girls are bouncing off the walls or getting sick from all that bottomless ice cream. 😆
I believe the claw is just like pass the parcel. It’s about accepting the reality you don’t always win or get what you want.
Video idea I want to see a video where you talk about episodes that you think are overrated or underrated but this is just an idea

I think the lesson Bandit was trying to teach is that things don’t come true if you wish for them, but they do if you work for them.
Love the long dog earrings, and the long dog in the background sitting in the cup is cool.
Anyways I loved the claw episode, it is by far one of my favorites.
There's always the lesson "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" that's what it reminded me of.
Love this episode. My daughter and I always chuckle at how long Bandit’s arm becomes as The Claw 🤣

I saw that lesson in there right away too. Gambling is also a big problem in Idaho where I'm from, so this lesson was pretty much drilled into me as a kid.
I love when the kids talk with barks instead of words, my 4yr old makes silly sounds or quotes fave words in different tones when she's very excited or shy, and she really lights up when they do what she views as the same thing. Idk if that is a normal small kid thing or not but it makes her feel happy so it has a special place in my heart for me. :)
1:25 imagine of the restaurant called them garlic bones…
Their was a pizza place near my parents home and one of the menu items was garlics bone . Basically small bits of leftover pizza dough used to make them with garlic seasoning, butter and cheese.
My favourite part of this episode is when the girls go to do their chores and Chilli says ‘’I’m watching you magic claw “ so funny
"There was no one who liked all three flavors". I did and still do. If I had to rank them though, it would be Strawberry, Chocolate and vanilla. I'd love to see someone like Ben and Jerry do a version of neopolitan that uses mango instead of vanilla as an homage to the ice cream episode.
As a recovering gambler, this video was very nice 💖i had no idea 80% of Aussie adults have the same issue; kinda makes me feel less alone.

When I first saw this episode, it made me think of an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where he goes to a poker night with his father, Frank, and ends up on a hot winning streak. Frank insists he should take his winnings and quit while he’s ahead. Instead he plays one last hand with Frank and bets everything just because he wants to show off and not surprising, he loses everything. The way Bandit offers them a better prize then what they already won and tells them he will give them one last chance in exchange for their prizes and Bingo would rather keep Grey Dancer where Bluey would rather risk everything expecting to win again. It always bothers me that he never gets to the lesson part, but then again, because they’re so young it probably wouldn’t stick with them until they’re older. Got to love how silly but real this show.
Yeah! Excaly, I think he was trying to teach Bluey that you shouldn't risk it over a toy and just take the toy you already have.
Long dog is next to the mug over your left shoulder and chattermax is right next to the fruit bat book to your right. Also, I kind of felt that the lesson should have ultimately been told and they still get the ice-cream in some way (maybe like if the kids realized what the lesson was all about and Chilli gave Bandit the death stare to have him give them the prize for their hard work). Children viewing the episode won't pick up on the cautionary lesson now in my opinion.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I've read that a lot of Bluey merchandise sold online is bootleg stuff. Is there any way of being able to check if something is officially licensed before you buy it?

I wonder if they went to an aquarium or to the beach for Bingos 3rd birthday & they took pictures of dolphin & maybe Bingo got Gray Dancer as a souvenir? We went to the aquarium to see stingrays & he got a toy stingray from the gift shop.
well we used to sit down as a class and "bet" on horses during the Melbourne cup. We were straight being taught to gamble in school
Every time you said gambling it made me miss playing the quarter machine in the gas station in FL 😂💀 the one that pushes the quarters towards you, I was good at that one & won some bills sometimes lol

Gambling may be one of the lessons on this video but also I think another one is you can’t win straight away because at the beginning bluey and bingo did not win and that’s. What they were trying to teach them but your guess is a great guest to also I LOVE BLUEY AND PLEASE DONT STOP

Am not from the UK/Australia but in my opinion, i think that this episode was okay.. but i just love how when bluey & bingo didn't win the prize bluey was like "What!😧" i feel like that would be me. But anyway i love your videos keep up the good work❤👍

It’s not nice to take things that aren’t yours. i.e. Bluey taking Bingos stuffed animal in order to pay with it. Stealing is wrong.
You’re not always going to win, and that’s ok.
You have to work hard in life for the things you want

I think there was another lesson but for adults, something that was in Baby Race, don’t rush your kids into learning things they aren’t ready for.
That type of learning should be for older kids, when they understand the value of money and can grasp consequences like that cause, little kids can only really recognise patterns aka if I break a rule, I go in time out

Honestly, I thought it was a bit of a silly idea going into the video but I can totally see it now!
I can defiantly see the Gambling aspect, claw machines while some are set for Skill there are quite a few that are rigged with a pay out wall. It is close enough to gambling that some areas do not allow claw machines at all and parents that won't let their kids play claw machines at all.
I was raised with a dad who played them often, and I learned from him when to walk away from the machines that are rigged to pay out. I would still some times spend a play on these machines if it had something I really wanted. I also learned how to win in the machines that weren't rigged.
I think its a poor choice to just forbid the claw game at all, it makes it more desirable. The path my dad took was somewhat better, he wasn't direct in it and I'm pretty sure he didn't even know he was teaching me something in gambling.
The episode shows a better middle ground, where the lesson is somewhat stated directly while also not being completely word for word so its still up to the audience to interpret it and learn something through it by their own thoughts and feelings.

I have a theory that chili may have cancer or was in the war bc her dad said he might have and her mom has an award so I think she might have tried to take after them before she was pregnant!

The lesson is: Never just play claw machines. Unless it’s play until you win. There is no point putting money that won’t at least take more than two tries to win. I know.
It’s better if there is an arcade part where you at. It’s better to win tickets/points to win prizes.

I think this episode has two lessons not just one. And that’s why people are confused. I think Chilli’s lesson was about winning all the time and Bandit’s lesson was about gambling.

The lessons I got is winning is not as enjoyable without losses and luck machines (claw machines, arcade machines, slots) are rigged and the results you get will disappoint you.
