- Here's my breakdown and bluey theorys about THE POOL from season 1 (aka Uncle stripes house while he's in bali) I show the UK Censorship scenes compared to the australian ones, and discuss teh dog jokes and the dog collar that bandit might be wearing too...as well as bluey easter eggs, australian references and more!

I am a big fan of bluey and with season 3 airing in Australia, I thought I would do a breakdown of every episode with a small review, some spoilers, and any bluey theories that might pop up. Bluey season 1 and 2 hit disney plus two months after airing in Australia so hopefully, all of season 3 will be out for everyone soon!

I have a Theory So in season 3 episode chess Bluey is 6 And then later she says she's either 7 or 8 like what is she time traveler
The dog collar thing was likely just a recording of a real dog shaking that happened to be wearing a collar. Best not to look too deep into it.

Pretty sure that shaking sound is a very common stock sound effect too. Pretty sure ive heard it in tons of cartoons and movies before
Bluey smiling up at her parents being affectionate is one of those “oh this show is special” moments for me 🥹💚
And not always being like "eWwWWWww" and hating affection all the time. I always wondered if other kids eww-ed at their parents kissing in real life, because I never had any problems with it.
Also just... The moment is beautiful
Hearing the jingle when Bandit shakes just makes it that much funnier when he does it, because everybody knows that sound. It just wouldn't be the same without it!
I’m not sure but one thing that comes to mind with the “talking underwater” scene being censored is that it might scare young kids or that parents might think ( as in they just walked into the room at that moment) that Bluey is drowning.
But that makes no sense

hey im from the uk! and I know why they cut out the speaking underwarter its because in the uk we have really strong chlorine and if kids swallow warter they get a really bad illness

Thats surpising 'tongs' is allowed since in the US they are called Sandals, flip-flops, etc. But thongs are an adult item here lol. Im glad they left it, it's more genuine.

I’ve heard them called thongs as well.
Hawaiians say thongs, so it’s pet of a regional dialect here too. Probably why they didn’t censor.
On a other note: I love how young the girls sound in the earlier episodes. We basically hear them growing!
As someone who's grown up in America their whole life, I kind of wonder if the "thongs = flipflops" thing is kept in the American version because of how many words have different names depending on where exactly you live in the States, so it's kind of second nature to just be like "Oh, this must just be another word for this other thing", and when you have the added context of Bandit clearly wearing the thongs/flipflops, it makes the connection even easier to make.

It could be that the reason why Bandit didn’t use anything from Stripe’s house is because he didn’t have a key. Bandit could have asked while Stripe was already gone to use the pool, thus never being left with the keys. That, or he didn’t think to go into Stripe’s house to grab the necessary items. He was probably too focused on the kids and the fact that he left their stuff at home to even consider it.
From the UK here, and you are probably spot on with why the talking underwater scene was cut. the fear kids would try it out and accidents (or worse) may happen.
The bathroom scene was cut as well because the BBC worried that kids would copy the behaviour since swimming pools aren't common here

In one episode bluey splashes water on the ground of her bathroom then slides on the floor then turns nearly hitting the wall so it was cut

one of the things I like about this show is that with Bluey smiling at her parents being happy and showing affection, they are also showing her and Bingo what a healthy relationship looks like. This happens again in "Smoochy Kiss" when they not only tell but show that you have to take the good with the bad if you really love someone. (They said if you belong to someone but my point still stands) Even in the episode where Bandit and Chili are romancing each other and having a nice dinner, Chili shows the girls that kisses are special and deserve romance.
I love this episode. It is just so cute and funny. 😊❤ I’m 13 and I love Bluey, it is such a good show.

I am from and currently in the UK and I’m a bit confused because I’ve seen this episode multiple times and the stuff you mentioned that was cut from the UK was not for me don’t really know why I only started watching bluey Few days ago I’m already hooked also keep up the content it’s quite entertaining❤
On Cbeebies it’s cut but not on Uk Disney+ is my understanding, when I watched the cbeebies version it wasn’t in it
@@aussiegirlmargie What I find really interesting is that they censor these little bits (even though it's pretty well known you Aussies call flip flops, thongs), yet they have not censored the episode "Dad Baby"... We were far too excited to finally be able to watch it when it appeared on BBC iPlayer 😂

I grew up in the 80s and 90s in New Mexico and always called them thongs. I had friends that called them flip flops and I thought it was weird.
I call them flip flops 🤷♀

The thong thing is interesting. The BBC also cut the thong bit from the sleepover episode. However, in series 2 they didn’t cut it out during dance mode.
The talking underwater must be a safety thing. They cut out the penguin game as well, but I think that’s back in now.

When Bandit says, “Tough crowd”, and grabs his neck, he’s pantomiming grabbing a tie, which is a nod to comedian Rodney Dangerfield, as that was his shtick. I recognized it immediately. :-)

The dialog "Dad is way more fun" was being cut by Disney
The word that being cut is:
Original:"She always makes us do so many BORING things!"
Disney:"She always make us do so many THINGS!".
Which is kinda really make us see the NOT polite word in this phrase.
I find your videos very calming, which is useful since I've got some pretty bad anxiety.

I would probably give this episode a 3/4 long dogs. So where i live we call the heliconias lobster claws, it just so iteresting how different countrys use different words for different things ( sorry for useing diffrent so much XD ) and i think that Chilie used a bus or uber. In my country they didnt cut the thong part, but i think i know why they cut it in the uk its bc in the uk thongs mean under wear. I think that the jingle was perhaps a mistake where perhaps one of the people working on bluey had their cat or dog accidentally interrupt and they forgot to cut it out of the final product. Or they just used a stock recording of a dog shaking who knows?

I think maybe they kept the whole "thong" thing here in America because Americans actually had a cultural crush on Australia about ten to twenty years ago. Theres actually a LOT of leftover memories and stuff, so a lot of kids and kids shows automatically understand that "thong"+shoe=flip flop.
Kinda like a habit you get from an old fling that your kids pick up on out of context.
At least thats how i perceived it.

I thought Christmas swim and the building by the pool was the pool house? I saw an episode of Living Big in a Tiny House in AUS where a couple had a house and pool house then made a switch to move into their pool house which the setup is similar to Stripe’s…?

I absolutely love to think of bandit’s shaking bell noise was his keys, because wearing his keys in the pool is ABSOLUTELY a forgetful dad thing to do. I can still remember when I was a kid mine would do the same every so often.

Honestly, this feels like a pretty interesting episode of Bluey is real kind of a fun, relaxing pool day episode .😊
Video idea: maybe there could be a theory for Winton. In the episode helicopter. He says to bluey to drop him off at his, “DADS house” bluey asks were his dads house is and winton says, “he doesn’t live with my mom anymore” which could mean his parents could have had a breakup.
2nd video idea: the red dog that was seen with aunt trixie in the episode, “bob bilby” that could be bosco. The one that aunt frisky used to be friends with.

This is one of my favourite episodes, although I only watched it once (I think). Nevertheless it's a really good episode, my favourite part of it was Bandit's dad jokes. 5 out of 5 long dogs.

US here, California specifically. The funny thing about thongs is that we called them that when I was a kid. Not until I was in high-school (early '00) did thongs meaning switch.
I don't know if it's a regional thing but for me (born and raised in the South - Geogia, Florida and NC) I always seperate the different footwear.
Slippers = house shoes , the kind that the dog brings the dad after a hard day of work or the fuzzy kind you wear during the winter
sandals = front over the foot and sometimes with a heel strap.
flip-flops = the kind Aussies and other European nations call thongs (the ones with that thing between the toe - and literally make a 'flip - flop' sound hence the name. I loved these as a kid because I would walk around and say 'flip. flop. flip. flop.' as I walked. lol. Once I got older - teens-ish I hated them because of the thing between your toes).
the collar sound thing I think was a mistake (like that one episode where Bandit's voice actor accidentally says: "dad enters the room') but like that they thought it was funny / we wouldn't notice / wouldn't care or we'd simply assume it was his hidden keys.
I never really thought about Chili coming with the stuff but my thought is she either borrowed a neighbor's car or she uberred (that's a lot of stuff to take on the bus).

Since when is 400+ dollars *CHEAP*?? lol and then have to pay for a hotel too??? Then again apparently Stripe as a pretty good job so... relative I guess.
Anything under $1200 return is cheap for an international flight. Our air travel prices are insane in the Southern Hemisphere. $400 for even a one-way ticket is a bargain.

Also wages here are much higher than USA wages (Min wage here is $23.20/hr for the first 38 hrs - after 38 hrs it rises to $34/hr. Please note this is minimum wage, most wages are a LOT more)
Just last week, I was thinking, “Oh, I wonder if Margie will post a video about the pool and the jingling from Bandit when he shakes,” and then one week later, I see this. Also, I think it was just his keys in his pocket, but when I think about it, do car keys get ruined in a body of water like that? 🤨
i think the dog collar thing is just the sound aduio used by an actual dog but the actual dog had the collar

If it was a collar, it would have been visible in the ep. Sheepdog but it wasn't, so it was most likely the secret little pocket thing where they keep their car keys.

I learned this when one of my Dad's friends complimented my thongs. I was only in middle school at the time and had only ever heard that word refer to a specific kind of underwear. I was SO confused and his friend apologized when the difference was explained to her.
It was funny! Honestly, I'm guessing it was left uncensored since bandit was gesturing to his thongs/flipflops when he said it.
