    LAYERS! LAYERS! LAYERS! This has sped up my workflow by more than two times. Not all library Elements and lights will be in all your render perspectives, so instead of deleting and adding objects a hundred times, separate into layers wisely.

      I need to start using Lumion Layers more! I only rely on them when the model is too heavy, but often times I forget 😅
      I always talk about Layers in Photoshop, Illustrator and all programs, but for some reason, I skip them here.
      Thanks for sharing that, IMposure! If part 2 really comes to life, I'll make sure it is included then!

      Layers in Lumion are the most stupid thing ever! They are so buggy and weirdly placed... UI and UX sucks to be honest

    For a project a few months ago i needed to create the terrain of a real world place in a 3d environment and after a lot of tries i used tangram heightmapper to render an image of that place with raster data and i uploaded it in lumion as terrain. It worked well but keep in mind that in lumion the work environment has precisely 4km^2 (2x2km) so you must crop the raster image to fit an are of approximately 2x2 km. Use some reference objects from google maps and measure the area. I hope what i just said makes sense =)

    O Lumion parece ótimo pra fazer pós-produção! O visual fica muito bonito de cara, não fica muito realista como o Vray ou Enscape, mas tem muito bloco massa e umas 30 mil opções de filtros kkk

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Independente de ser patrocinado esse video, eu gosto bastante do Lumion quando se trata de agilidade!
      É bem rapido conseguir bons resultados. A renderização é rapida e os blocos ajudam muito a humanizar um espaço sem perder tempo procurando bom modelos.
      Mas não descarto o Vray quando tenho mais tempo de produção. São ferramentas diferentes.

    Extra tip to help you :
    You see the problem with curved elemnts ,thats cause by the live sync .so its better to export the file as colada .UDE and when ever you need to update something jusy overwrite the file then in lumion press refresh and you good to go .

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll have to try that out! If it really fixes the reflections with curved elements, it'll be fantastic! 🙌 Thanks a lot for the tip!
      I do like the live sync because I often start working on the rendering with the 3d model under construction still, but if it fixes, there's no discussion and I should change my workflow! 😄

    • @7aidarh456
      @7aidarh456 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah i was working just like you with live sync and i noticed that any cuarved surface is taking a sharp edges .like theres was a circles turnd into polygons . So i started to experment with it and found out exporting is higher detail .
      Ps : if you still expermnt some issues with reflections just add PBR reflection map .
      Hope that help 🙏🏽

    @kevinpfeiffer8034 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    **possible a hot take?** - Unless you're working for a render house, post production in Photoshop is not really feasible due to time constraints. Most others in the AEC industry need to be as fast as possible. I commonly need to update 20+ renders an hour before a client presentation with some significant changes. Adding in post production would make the efficiency edge of using Lumion moot, might as well go back to SketchUp / Vray.
    That being said, I turn my people to face away from the camera 95% of the time, haha.

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You're totally right, Kevin! I've worked some time on this specific niche, and the client often times doesn't care about the image after post-production. They are more than happy with the plain renders with 3d people.
      What I've done (and have seen other firms do it as well) is to do the first batch of images the best as possible with lots of identity and post-production, and then for changes and for sharing with contractors down the line just simple and plain renders that get the message across.
      And then share over social media and website those really nice first images. But maintain the speed on the daily tasks.
      Here on the channel, I talk to all types of niches, from people working directly in archviz firms to those that use rendering as just a bit on their architectural practices. So there's usually no right answer that will fit all audiences. I share my point of view and here in the comments is where we can enrich the discussion. So I appreciate your feedback! Thanks 😄

    The problem with Lumion is the viewport... It keeps trying animate things when you don't need and it makes a laggy experience in big projects. Also the previsualization isn't that good in the composition mode... You got to imagine how it will gonna be in the final results...

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also think so! Since this video was about tips I didn’t mention all the things I didn’t like. But the viewport has a lot of improvements to be made for sure!
      Idk why you can’t visualize the material (only the material) as a stand alone rendering, like Vray for example.
      The camera (viewport) is somewhat limited too. No custom aspect ratios and the preview that doesn’t match the final result. And it can get very laggy as you mentioned once the project gets more complex
