When Cima was released in Hong Kong, the local press did reviews comparing it with the LS400, even Mazda 929 and Mitsubishi Sigma. It was an exciting era for car enthusiasts seeing Japanese makers eager to roll out these wonderful creations in hope to get a fair share in luxury sedan market that used to be dominated by the European makers. Personally I feel the Cima with a proper grille a more elegant car to the early Q45. Some people says a LS400 looks like a mix between W126 and E32, a Cima may resemble a Jaguar XJ40.

Great video! Interesting design with the transverse-mounted V8 and still AWD.

Thats what I thought at first! It's actually not transverse, if you look a little closer you can see the intake manifold is just set up really weird.

I've had my 1993 Nissan Cima for 5 years. Other than coil overs (the OEM ride will collapse from age), the car is stock. Remarkable car, dead silent, and Lexus-like smooth.

In case you didn´t know the navigation could also be equipped with GPS! And also on a CD is cool! When the rest of the world was installing games on the big home computers on floppy discs!
Nothing beats cloth! Probably Rolls-Royce has "better" materials but the quality in general is not better I´d say.

2:21 Alcohol open container laws are very liberal in Japan so passengers in the back can drink/store alcoholic beverages in the fridge. Drivers obviously cannot.
