    Thanks for the 2 videos on this trailer. This is by far the most detailed and informative review I have watched for the Oliver Elite 2. Well done!

    I'm sure you've heard this before but anytime you're away fot more than 1 night you should always close the main water valve so there is no water entering the system. When returning home just open up a few faucets before reopening the main water valve. Only takes a minute or two and no need to worry about any leaks anywhere in the house

      Also shut washer machine water valves off each time after daily use of washer. Had a cousin that was outside for the afternoon working for a few hours and came back to a flooded house.

    Thank you for the two part series. My wife and I want to travel full time. We are considering the Oliver Legacy Elite II and the Outdoors RV 19MKS Titanium. My favorite part in your video was hiding weed in the secret compartment. Made me laugh! We enjoy watching your adventures. Sorry to hear about the busted hose.

    Your tour of the Oliver is very informative, I wish something like this was around before we purchase our Oliver! Things I really like about the LE II. Are the easy of towing and we can fit in about 95% of all state and national park campsites, getting into gas stations is easy and you don’t as a ll rule have to be concerned with approach and departure angles with the high ground clearance of Oliver trailers. I am sure most people would concur the most common negatives would be the holding tank sizes and the storage space, that being said my wife and I where tent campers before owning our Ollie so to us it’s like staying at a 5 star hotel.

      Thanks for your comment 👍 I agree about the ease of towing/maneuvering the trailer, I like to boondock in National Forests and go to state parks and COE campgrounds. Hope to meet you out there- Thanks for watching

    Great, now everyone knows where I keep my weed! 😂
    Odd, our 2023 hull 1360, doesn’t have that FM antenna.
    We flipped all of our blinds so that we can pull up the blackout potion, leaving the daytime as a gap at the top.
    Putting 1/2 of a pool noodle (split lengthwise) angles the dinette cushions just enough to make them much more comfortable.

      @StevesRoadTripChronicles  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sorry to let the cat out of the bag 😂 Odd about the antenna- maybe yours is in the area behind the stereo? Good idea flipping the blinds- I may give that a try. Appreciate you commenting and watching!

      Most people try to bring along about twice as much as they really need while camping. We easily pack a months worth in our LE2 and travel with comfort and ease. If you opt for a composting toilet, smartest thing we ever did, you can stop wasting half your fresh water on flushing the toilet and your gray tank will last much longer as well. No waiting in line at the dump station ever again.

    Thank you; nice detailed owner review. Like the build on these trailers, but hate the kitchen. Too little counter space, that refrigerator is a joke and hate having the range right by my bed/seat. Hearing all the counter tops are easily scrached and would be damaged by heat.... that is that final straw.

    • @StevesRoadTripChronicles
      @StevesRoadTripChronicles  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Appreciate your comment! There are some compromises you have to make for the small size, for sure. I just use a hot pad under things I want to put on the counter. Thanks for watching!

      I am so thankful for your review. I have been looking at the Oliver Elite for a long time, and your review taught me a lot. It's necessary to know that the counters can easily be scratched and to be prepared. Fiberglass is like a boat, and it will last a long time if taken care of. It is better to know these things before venturing out.

    Thank you so much for this very detailed tour. I am looking forward to watching both parts again with my wife. We had been gravitating towards Airstream (coming from the boating world), but have seen so much about rivets popping out and various issues. I do think that the Oliver looks a bit sterile on the inside, but the some Foybles could fix that. A very usable shower and toilet are very high on our list of priorities. Thanks again!

    • @StevesRoadTripChronicles
      @StevesRoadTripChronicles  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great, I'm glad you like it! I started my search strongly considering an Airstream Caravel. But after reading the Airstream forums and the problems that a lot of people were having, I started to lean toward fiberglass. Once I found the Oliver, I knew I wanted one, but had to get over the price :). Good luck with your journey and thanks for watching!

    I’d say that The Oliver is the best for weekend getaways to the lake or to the beach, or for road trips lasting a week long at most. They’re definitely more suitable for singles or couples. I’d use it for going to the beach (four hour drive from where I live) as a hotel/motel alternative and get the composting toilet and shower curtain options.
    I like that they are small yet maneuverable, simply made yet well made, and the manufacturers stand by their work. The only other camper I’d consider would be the Airstream, though they’re pretty expensive.

    • @StevesRoadTripChronicles
      @StevesRoadTripChronicles  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree, I think you are spot-on about the Oliver. I looked at the Airstream before I purchased the Oliver as well- I liked the sturdiness of the fiberglass in the Oliver. Plus no MDF in the Oliver 😁. Thanks for commenting and watching!

      As an owner, I can say that many other owners like ourselves camp for weeks on end in our Olivers. It really comes down to learning to live simple. You buy your fresh food at each destination, kind of like you do at home. Laundry is treated the same way. It really is limitless if you get adjusted to life on the road. The composting toilet is a great option for long stays on the road, boondocking etc.

    Thanks Steve,
    Not only is your television wired to your Furrion entertainment center but it’s also a DVD player so you don’t need the one you wired in the above cabinet.. Also may I suggest try turning the base up and the treble down and it won’t sound so tinny. When we play music, dvd’s thru that system it sounds awesome. Much better then the T.V. speaker.

      @StevesRoadTripChronicles  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Great feedback, thanks for sharing! FYI, you really don't want to get in the habit of putting bottles/cans/condiments in the door of the fridge. The added weight while bouncing around down the road leads to the failure of the hinges. I agree about the stereo system, if possible I'd opt to not have that.

    I say an Oliver at the Dallas RV show this year. What amazed me is how very small they are. I was thinking from videos that the wet bath was large enough to be functional. I could barely turn around in there, and I’m not that big of a guy (5”11” under 200 pounds)

      They are very well built but too small inside. If only airstream used the same plywood as boat builders airstream would be the best choice. Unfortunately airstreams do leak in particular areas and the pressboard wood crumbles.

      I have a small black and decker battery powered hand vac. I also have a broom and a swiffer that I keep in the closet. I use the swiffer wet pads for mopping. Nothing under the beds gets warm, except the furnace on the curb (passenger) side. But the heat from the furnace is ducted to two outlets in the main cabin and one in the bathroom. • @StevesRoadTripChronicles
      @StevesRoadTripChronicles  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely. The double-hull construction is great insulation with both a reflective barrier and an air gap. All the tanks are between the hulls and there is cabin ventilation around the tanks. There is probably a limit to how cold you could go in it, but I think that would be true for any camper. The fall and winter is by far my favorite time to camp!
