  • Join boats.com and Marilyn DeMartini in Cape Canaveral Florida along with Tarpon River Boatworks CEO Todd Meyer for a full walkthrough video tour and review of this unique and amazing foiling power catamaran center console boat. At 34 feet long with a 12 foot beam and a 32 inch draft, this epoxy-infused offshore center console fishing boat features a polyurea-wrapped collar system, twin 35 gallon transom livewells, 2 insulated coolers and a 400 gallon fuel capacity. She weighs just under 10,000 pounds at 9,600 pounds dry and comes standard with a composite hardtop that matches the chosen hull color. Tarpon River Boatworks partnered with Morrelli & Melvin Design & Engineering to create the FoilCat's hydrofoil-assisted, power catamaran hull. Boats that use hydrofoil technology have a submerged lifting surface, or foil, that operates in the water. As the boat gains speed, the hydrofoil lifts the boat's hull up out of the water thus decreasing drag and allowing greater speeds and improved efficiency.

Would love to see what the range on this thing is with a couple Sharrow props!

Looks pretty IN the water to me for a hydrofoil.

think more surface foiling. a lot simpler and you still get a lot of benefit. full foiling boats coming out (look at some of the new electric boats like candela) have limitations in heavy seas.

@@dr34994 They don't have any photos whatsoever of the hull. The FoilCat website also states the hull design is limited to 58 mph due to hydrofoil cavitation. Interesting.

@Ballista I have a world cat 320cc, pretty comparable boat....I'd LOVE to be able to go 58 mph....or even cruise in the 40s as this claims to do. Now...I'd compare this to an insetta....I'm sure the mysterious price point would be the biggest deciding factor

Do they ever show the foil they are talking about? Is it on the boat, or the engine lowers? The propellers on the motors surely arent moving, what keeps them in the water? Fountain did this with a stepped hull.

Not sure about foilcats, but Insetta's is a permanent piece between the sponsons

It’s permanently mounted to the sponsons a little towards the rear of the boat.

I'm almost 80 years old, been boating most of my life... Every few years the boating community catches what I like to call 'catamaranitis' a very expensive disease... 'Nuff said!!!...

Why the tug boat rub rail? Some of us can actually maneuver a boat and don't need inches of padding. Looks terrible. Insetta 35 gets my vote.

We all know the original is the Hysucat and the rest are just playing catchup on Malan Conradie’s innovation.

All talk, no show regarding the actual before and after use...al-la Seakeeper...and the Europeans have led the way w/ other examples that come to mind, such as Aquila's 32 Sport Power Catamaran (pleasure Cat, for sure), but Swiftcat as another example...I'm glad a fishing Cat is possible, but an example of the Tech at work would have been more useful than this talking head commercial.
