I'm loving SS2 so far. Just downloaded the entirety of it and am having a ball. There was one bad bug with the Planet X quest but beyond that I haven't had much trouble. The long save is avoidable if you just leave your settlements before saving
Just wanna drop by and give my most heartfelt thanks to you and your team for this mod. You guys have provided me with -countless- more hours to dump into one of my favorite (modded) Fallout titles.
This is perfect timing. I re-installed FO4 last weekend, mostly to check out the Sim2, having played Sim1 quite a lot. Hoping Sim2 is more stable. Sim1 prevented me from ever completing the main FO4 game due to eventual memory leaks killing the save. Glad to see this at the same time I'm also re-starting the game. 😊
Excellent edit of the livestream. I watched the stream and would really prefer this edited version as I am less interested in the gossip. But this does have explanations for why things were done as they were. And what happened to Conquer. I am a patron and would consider myself a mid-level fan. I know the editing is a lot of work, but I think it would make this content a lot more accessible. Many of us see a 3 hour time and just move on. Thank you all for this wonderful mod. And, as an old-time programmer (actual machine code and wiring unit record boards) I enjoy listening to Kinggath talking technical. Brings back memories.
I've had that gas tank ignite and Blast Off properly only once in more playthroughs than I can count but it was a beautiful moment when it actually went off and work properly
This play-through looks very good and will clear up a lot of questions I have about SS2, and Chapter 2. The time for this part seems fine. I hope you won’t lock the runs only on time, some may take longer, or be shorter for events. You missed your chance though; could have noted Preston as a spy for some other group and now outcast. Otherwise it is great and I appreciate all of your group’s efforts in supporting the game as you do. Regards
I LOVE this mod series so much. The Xbox S tends to crap itself trying, but I love getting the Simple and Clean mods and working with them and this to design new settlements in all kinds of weird ways.
Played through FO4 on easy a few years ago. Started playing survival a few weeks ago. The only mods I have installed are build mods namely sims 2, I'm enjoying it so much, I love love love watching settlements change by themselves between visits and it's a welcome change sometimes to hang around and maybe find a named settler that asks for help, certainly breaks up doing survival quests all the time. I met Isaiah today and wow what a colourful character he is, he's awesome haha I do have a couple of problems so am excited to watch your videos and see if it answers them :) Thank you

This may be off topic, but I found out that Whispering hills works well with sim settlements 2. To rebuild in a silent hill universe is one of the best things I’ve done in fallout and will advise people to try it out. I am still trying it out, till now I found no conflicts between the mods and I hope it stays that way.
I am going through a new character from scratch and I saw this mod and thought what a great way to make the game fresh and new for my latest playthrough.
I've never used Sim Settlements, so this is a great introduction. Preston likes flamethrowers in my settlement, and Sturgis loves the mini-gun. Can't get MCM to run in my play through, no matter where I put it in my load order. On level 93 on my first play through.
I am brand brand new to fallout 4 modding. And I've played to the part where you take the stranger to concord. And I can already tell the passion and love and time you put into this. And I'm watching your videos so I don't miss a single thing. You truly are a prodigy. Going through a really hard time in my life right now. And your content was just the thing I needed to escape reality. Probably not healthy. But it works. Be safe and don't work too hard you beautiful soul. Also I hope starfield is everything you hope for and more!
I got through Chapter 2 mostly but the HQ build is really confusing and that is where I am stuck. I restarted from scratch after the 1st time I played through. And am recruiting only unique characters to go work at HQ instead of normal Settlers.
Hi. Many thanks to you and the team for this wonderful mod. My recent start broke in Concord where I didn't get the expected dialogue and Jake's quest line seemed to stop (Hence coming to watch again), but it just came to me that I used a quick start mod with the Preston quest completed, which likely broke it. I'll go and try a vanilla start then, because SS2 is honestly the only reason I want to play it again. Thanks again, cheers.
Ah yeah, these are going to be a little rough for a bit... didn't think to check if my bitrate settings were still correct, and the next couple episodes are still coming. Will try and remember to pump this up tomorrow.
im starting to watch now. i been loving SS2. so great that it takes a lot of the hassle out of building settlements. Jake is great too! also saw your recent video talking about the new #powertools. Faux power is amazing to stop crashes too!

Any reason why it wouldn't load for me? I installed SS2 which took ages thanks to Nexus dial up speeds... then Vortex said I needed a missing master... I found that master inside a mod called SS2 chapter 2... got rid of error... however the mod just didn't load and I probably have lost some progress
anyone know how to fix this issue,, stranger wont start first quest. i already made a large settlement, already finish quest main quest. stranger is already in the settlement but wont start the quest. Is there any fix to this? or do i have to start a new character to play the quest line?
Hey kinggath in my hq in the beginning i only get like 38- 49 worker points so i cant do the quest the robot from jake seems to not be in the list on buiding chars
I can't get him to spawn after putting down the radio beacon and all ? My first settlement was vault 88 set that beacon up then Croup Manor I gained by the railroad as mercer safehouse as my second settlement were I put a beacon down
i got that long auto save too and i dont even have SS2 installed right now, its testing time again lol but from what i can see it mostly only happens in sanctuary. ive yet to see it occur in more populated areas of the game.
I wonder if this modd could do pre set layouts from a small choice or list because placing plots and figuring out how I want it is difficult.. Just set it and they place it how the npc wants it
Along with SS2, we are using ROTC; first we built a city manager desk, assigned a settler to be leader, selected one of the two city plans we saw and then we clicked on 'build the city automatically' and then clicked on "tear it all down". At this point we did not expect to see the Stranger at all. Building was happening by itself already but the Stranger wants us to place an ASAM sensor on the ground.....as if he assumes we elected to be involved. We went ahead and placed an ASAM on the ground but he's not talking any longer. Should we just ignore the stranger or what? Never had this issue with SS1 and ROTC. Any help at all from anyone would help us out a lot over here. Thanks!
I've had an issue where he just sorta sits there not really doing anything or talking for a long period, I find sometimes just activating the plot and refreshing it will fix it after a few seconds, so i'd try that first. if not save and reload then try it again. You may also want to try replacing the plot as well. just pick it up and move it, or store and replace. It may also just be the papyrus engine being buggy if the timeout is set too high(by default it's 500ms)in the fallout4.ini file so setting it lower may fix it too. i've set fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS to 300.0 personally. doing this may or may not cause other issues as well, so... maybe last resort. I know this default setting is a very common cause of script related issues in Skyrim as well. let us know how it works out. 🤷
@@imzesok Yes you're right; i've also reset the plot or the entire settlement. I also discovered that in waiting for a logistics station to be fully built, I had to hang out there for quite a while, fast travel away and back and suddenly it will get built. I'm loving the settlements that have completed; way better looking than anything i've ever done vanilla :)
@@KingdomUploader yeah, i'm a little too minimalist to do anything 1/100th as crazy as I've seen others do in their games. I'm usually just one of those people that'll make two buildings, one being a bunkhouse, and the other just a large building for stores. anytime I try going beyond that it just never looks good. thankfully this mod takes care of that for the most part. would be kinda cool though if there were special plots could be used to fix up sanctuary's houses too. glad your plot building managed to unstick itself.
I’m having problems with the second quest if I had a hammer where I can’t get the residential builds or anything to update I dunno what it is it will go up then down
The mod size is very small but I don't know why they force players to play missions that increase the mod size by 70% Why is there no lite version without missions?
oh i know of one reason the quest with old paul wont update is related to preston and co and the amount of non SS2 house plots and trying to get them and the new settlers to build the plots if you dont delete any non SS2 beds and all the random food plots from behind the workshop house they will auto assign themselves to them and not the new plots to finish the quest
How do you get the extra bars to appear while building? I still just have the: People Food Water ect at the top but not the ones on the left or right of the screen
My game crashed so bad after I downloaded this like I tried to exit the vault with everything loaded like chapter two and chapter one and that’s all and my game just crashed to home screen lol

Can I install Sim settlement 2 mid playthrough? The only thing that I did was save Preston Garvey from museum, and build some structure on sanctuary, Abernathy and red rocket and that's it. And I've got no mods installed, and clean save. Is it okay? And I'm already level 20.

i mostly play on survival, but recently started a couple games on normal. And i have to say i find normal difficulty kind of harder, just because the enemies are such sponges.
Xbox question, we are limited to 2GB of mod space on fallout 4 for some reason, that said, if I want to download chapter 2 what can I safely delete to make enough space without breaking my game? I don't want to have to start the game over to do chapter 2.
I've just started playing on XB1X I'm loving it but I'm having a issue with cells respawning enemies really fast. I've wiped out the raiders in Concord but every time I return they are back. Any idea on how to fix this?
@@KuriusOranj hope a fix arises soon! Aside from less in the load order, know of anything else that helps? I know memory leaks tend to plague Bethesda open worlds
Hey Kingath, i’ve tried everything but jake won’t show up to my settlement. at first I thought it was a my alternate start mod (start me up) but I disabled that and started a fresh new save without it. and he still won’t show up. I haven’t been able to play the quest yet
I'm honestly looking forward watching SS2 get played. Sure as hell I can't, scripts kind of bug out in the long run, I can't stand it. (What kind of computers you have? Liquid-Nitrogen cooled Quantum Super Computers?)
Is anyone playing this on Xbox. I keep running into the same issue over and over. I have restarted several times but every time I get to the Commonwealth Rising assign staff to engineering nothing works. I can assign twelve people to engineering but the figure stays at 100/1000.. does any one know any fixes.
They're making mod collection stuff? That's amazing, and exactly what I've wanted for so long. A collection that works well with it's self and has instructions for load order built in for vortex, modding is going to so smooth soon.
I play on PC using mods directly from Bethesda. I've done everything and I can't get the stranger to appear to start the quest. I'm going to try to play with SS1 because SS2 is unplayable with this buggy NPC that doesn't appear.

played over 100+ hours with SS2 + horizon 1.8 mod, absolutely remarkable experience

+1 for having an option for Jake to show up later and maybe having some ASAMs in Sanctuary so I can get something of a town going before I leave.

There is a bunch of pixelization with motion. This can be fixed usually with a higher bitrate. I used to use 60,000 when I did world of tanks stuff.

Yeah, perfect timing indeed. I have this same bug and the long save issue. Hope you have luck nailing it down.
Tip grab the cigarettes and cigarette cartons they can be scraped for asbestos and cloth. Grab and scrap everything.
Question, Chapter 3? that would be a big w, I really enjoyed Chapter 2 and specially building up our HQ definitely need to do more this that

Jake is Arthur Morgan's long long relative and you can't convince me otherwise, they look and act almost the same.

I have no problem with the inventory system aside from it not being easy to compare weapons and equipment without equipping them.

still waiting on merged addons and city plan mods. my load order and mod list getting stupid high and 1/3 to half is just ss2 stuff

Baka may help, but from all the people testing, this hasn't been a solution. Sadly. :(

What happens if you already built up sanctuary?
What do the floating icons mean above the plots? Like the houses are always red and it doesnt explain anywhere what those mean.
Is this mod best played on a fresh new game, right from the vault, start the quest? Is this mod more difficult with survival mode on?
Question can you play this Sim Settlements 2, after you have finished the base game?
Will this interfere with workshop menu mods like DFEP?

They're making mod collection stuff? That's amazing, and exactly what I've wanted for so long. A collection that works well with it's self and has instructions for load order built in for vortex, modding is going to so smooth soon.

I play on PC using mods directly from Bethesda. I've done everything and I can't get the stranger to appear to start the quest. I'm going to try to play with SS1 because SS2 is unplayable with this buggy NPC that doesn't appear.
