I probably have 60ish hours on SF. Most of it playing lego with ship builder, only to realize it is completely pointless as it serves as a mere low interaction loading screen 😂
This has saved me from HOURS AND DAYS of looking through Nexus for settlement blueprints that only turned out to never work or not load properly regardless of what I did. You guys are Goddamn LEGENDS AND HEROES! Please keep up the amazing work. I like to build normally, but after a while I started just downloading what others had. I might design something myself for this!
I always heard a lot of positive talk about Sim Settlements but I've never tried it or looked it up at all. I got a massive mod list that includes it and it is FAR more in-depth and amazing than I expected! From the name and what I heard, I was imagining it added some preset buildings you plopped down where things automatically happened in the background (so like, not visible at all) to help with running settlements. It's astonishing how deep and complex the whole thing is and I can't believe this is just a free mod!
Very, very informative and professionally commented video: I hope you are a developer for a living because the world needs professionals like you! 😀 Unfortunately I'm in a game with Sim Settlement 1 but I can't wait to start another one with SS2!
i just recently startted playing with SS2 and SS3 I know nothing --- this collection of tutorials are SO helpful, thank you so much, I however used the starlight drive in for my first city plan, its not great - and I do not see the hud on my screen that you mention, but after watching more of these, I might be tempted to start a new game to start all over. by the way --- if any creators want to consider more options with concord, after we power it up, I think I speak for many when I say - DO IT!!! lol
All I can say is WOW! I've loved my hours playing FO4 but drifted away from it over a year ago because honestly it got stale. Now FO4 is a completely new game. I've started and restarted new playthroughs trying and testing various SS2 features and it's like a completely different experience. Thanks to you and your team for the vision and commitment to the FO4 community. I should probably stock up on coffee...I see some long days and nights ahead.
this auto feature is what i thought was in the first one i love the idea of plots but i wanna be even lazier and sit on my ass while my city is built, your a madman and a genius for this mod thank you
I uninstalled FO4 immediately after I beat the main story, about two weeks after it released. Every once in a while I've reinstalled it to try again with some mods but I've always uninstalled after a few hours, until I started playing this mod a few days ago. I've been blown away by the settlement management system (my least favorite part of vanilla), the great writing, voice acting, and they way the quest line has been worked into the game. I'm very impressed and I haven't even finished it yet.
I was hoping this would explain how to get the electricity requirement for the HQ quest with city plans. I'm using the completely automated preset but I still need to set up power distribution plots at all my settlements. Given how built up the ROTC plans can get, that's easier said than done.
Find an industrial plot and change it to a power plant if you don't have one. Then change a different industrial plot to a power transfer plot. If you need more industrial plots, find one you don't need and change it to industrial under customize plots. It took me a while to figure this out, too.
You need to change one of your industrial plots to power distribution. You can usually swap out your water industrial plot to accommodate for this without going red on water. Otherwise you will need to swap some other plot type to industrial - power distribution.
So first, they're wrong. The Power Transfer plot is a municipal (orange) plot. Second, I asked KG in one of his xbox livestreams and a channel mod suggested that I unlock Vault 77's nuclear reactor. Build 2 of those and a power transfer plot. V77 *should* be close enough to HQ without upgrades for the transfer distance AND each reactor is 500 power. 2 will then satisfy the power requirement. Additional note: KG mentioned that due to how scripting and the engine calculates needs and resource production, the numbers get pretty random and wild. That's why the suggestion of V77 is helpful. If you have no other plots, that should be a quick way. Sleep for a few hours and let the game recalculate. I guess you could also force the mod to recalculate with a city planner's desk. I would just be careful and not have other cities with the transfer until after HQ gets it's power requirement first
@s.k.6100 Correct. I meant municipal, not industrial. My mistake. Otherwise, what I said works. It has been tested and duplicated at all of my settlements.
WOW muchas gracias, necesitaba esta información para poderlo hacer funcionar bien!! // WOW thanks a lot, I needed this information to be able to make it work well!!
if i was filthy rich i would give this dude his own game development company. Of course i would rake in a portion of the profits though because it would be in the billions.
Do you happen to have a list of what ROTC settlements have what sort of industrial plots? I'd like to try and create a self-sustaining chain of settlements with the plans but aren't sure where to start
Newbie here to some of the SS2 building. So when using a city plan from one of the contest plans, I've left the settlement. Then went about my business, after a death I've encountered a workshop framework error twice on two entirely different saves. Could it most likely have been because i didn't stick around as you mentioned around 8:27 Could that have caused my Workshop errors? Any possible tips
Man I love City Plans! I was worried I'd have to build up everything from nothing on each settlement. The only downside is that npcs are building some plots that I don't want them to build and because the plan was designed by someone else, obviously you gotta run around and find out what is where. That is easy to make trivial with the workshop+ mod though.
also before watching this i used city settlement plans in Sanctuary, Red Rocket, and Abernathy....atleast i know now thats why i am crashing at Sanctuary at times....
I actually was looking into how to do this. I built up 1 settlement myself but was hoping to find out how to make this work for vault 88... yeah i really hate building that up. Recent edit: Side note but just for absolute safety if your on a lower end i HIGHLY recommend using something like settelers build settlments for the triangle of death. Its very similar to city plans but is entirely vanilla and the avaliable builds are pretty easy to manually build on top of. Their pretty sparse but if your doing this specifically to not build it yourself then 2/3 (af and s) will have decent setups to start from... they just wont play nice with plots that requires a res plot to count as "homed".
in the original rise of the commonwealth there was a way you could start the game with all the settlements already starting to build and u could discover them though the game is there a way to do that in this one
So with the first box of asams I immediately ran to sanctuary set up a desk assigned a leader and soft locked your quest. Because now the build limit is full the building plan won't make whats needed for the quest. Is there away to scrap everything like tear it all down full stop. Or a way to force the quest forward
can somebody tell me why when I download city plan and activate it it won't finish all the buildings and plots? I have all requirements is it because it's level 0 or what flowed every step as asked of on the mod page
Do I understand it right, that if I have a .ESL file I need do use the desk? First I have do build this table? I tried in circles to import it to the "holotape transfer settlement" ... 🤦🏼 I have some JSON blue prints, those are shown, not that .ESL blue print 🤔 so I was confused...
I know this is old but I downloaded this & rise of the commonwealth with no other SETTLEMENT mods but I don’t have the HUD on the left side while in workshop mod even after using a city plan, is there a fix or something I just have to live with?
And what happens if you don't have extra city plans only those in SS2 And will SS2 interfere with e.g. rebuilt croup manor mod? Where do you get those box of ASAM sensor items?
does sim settlements 2 levels up as one like in sanctuary with sims settlements 1 the whole settlements levels up to lvl 2 lvl 3, does it do the same with sim settlements 2? or just the plots?
Hey guys, i just using this mod this year, and every time i'm using city plan, the power cable seems not fully connected, is this a bug, or i have to connect it manually?
So what if I select the option not to use plot types that I haven't unlocked in the questline yet and then later I do unlock them? Can I then add them back to my city plan? If so, will that happen automatically or do I have to do something manually?
For the triangle of death: I have an i9-12900ks and 3090ti with 64GB DDR5. Am I good with just going with the basic plans on these three? Or what’s the best advice?
Literally just turned the most annoying and sluggish part of FO4 into something actually interactive and exciting. I straight up avoiding playing FO4 again for years because of how cumbersome and unavoidable settlement management was. This actually makes me excited for it
I think on the wiki for companions it should when u unlock them as a unique leader because I can use codsworth immediately but I can’t use anyone else (even Preston after taking castle) I think this could clear up some confusion for console users because we don’t get console commands do force do it and I tried waiting a few in game hours doing quests
I just started and cleared raiders in concord. @7:34 I have RoTC addon this screen offers "Cancel" and "Insufficient Resources". No indication of what is needed. It's insanely frustrating and seriously lacks usable information. At this point it's easier to just build it through vanilla..... Anyone have suggestions on how to figure this out.
have you build the Recruitment radio beacon??? an npc will appear and help you with all the stuffs, kinda like a tutorial Check the book on the workbench, theres a book allowing you to build these beacon...
Turns out I cleared out concord before installing the mods. Found him in the shop near the museum as suhardaniix indicated. (Bug might be to put a quest marker on "stranger" if concrod was cleared out). Set up the town, does the mod auto assign people?
I may need to reinstall this, my settlement mod install UI doesn't look anything like this. I have zero status screens like the one showing needs, resources etc. 🤔
I don't have that clock/timer for my settlements, so cant upgrade, also in the top right some of my cities such as Red Sprocket are not acquiring resources/materials or whatever you call it, any help? Where is the option to stop automatic levelling up??!?!?!??!!?!?
This mod looks cool but its extremely hard to use ive been playing with it for about three hours and i haven't done anything at first i built one house plot then had to go kill raiders for they guy in concord and after when i went to place a agriculture plot it says i don't have everything i need from sim settlements and it tells me to destroy it and also when i tried to assign a settler to the desk they just sit there and type no option appears for me to make them the leader it is very confusing
You have to do quite a bit of the mom's questline to really get into building with it. I've been playing while also playing the Minuteman quest line and it's going quite well. I believe that when you assign someone to the desk then they become the mayor, there's also an option to change or fire the mayor if you click on the desk.
Hey kingath. I play on xbox and chapter 2 seems buggy, for one i noticed alternate or less popular choices may be bugged. Like not choosing to side with algeron. In a later mission. The quest expects him algeron to be there, but because you djdnt choose to side with him, hes not there so its not advancing. Also whrn you invade gnn. You cang kill berman, for whatever reason he is essential even after you engage dialogue to kill him. He cant die. So your forced to spare him. Are these known bugs or do i have a bad play through. He
I'm not aware of either of those issues - but could definitely be bugs we need to resolve. Like you said, less popular options, so possible folks with those issues just haven't gotten their reports seen by anyone who can act on them. Best move would be to check our forums to see if anyone else has the issue. I'll bring it up to our testing team though.
@kinggath don't know if I had mods that conflicted. I also Uninstaller and installed mods in my playthrough and i heard that could potentially mess up scripts. But I don't think its your mod. I really love it. But right after I got into chapter 3 a save somehow got corrupted and because it was Xbox I couldn't delete the corrupting files. So I had start a new play through.) (I had to force myself into chapter 3 invading gnn. because of that algeron bug I encounter But onething that did happen. (Don't know of it's related). But that lady for the commonwealth trading company (big one I can't remember). Well after meeting her for the meeting after your done with nightingale. The dialogue finished, the quest didn't progress. It was stuck even after the conversation finished. And then my game crashed(typical f04 feature) and I could even load into the main menu. Tried everything and had to delete all my saves. But most likely this is Todd Howard's fault and not yours. Your mod is epic. And even with the bugs, understand this a huge project.
My city planner desk doesn't have a computer or anything on it I can activate it just has the craft and transfer options and when I try and assign a settler to the desk the just sit down and do a typing animation nothing pops up and asks if I want to make them the leader
My system runs at 417fps with ultra settings LOL. Think it can handle the upgrading of settlements. I built Sanctuary and didn't know about the city plan desk LOl. Guess time to get it working as I would prefer it upgrade on its own.
Anyone having issues with CTD when using city plans and walking towards the settlement. my method of making it to the center of the settlement is to point the camera downward to the ground and walk towards them.
If you are on PC, are you able to COC to the settlement? I have also found that if you are moving too fast you can cause a lot of issues with the game loading and unloading resources. Maybe try slowly moving towards a settlement and taking a minute to let the engine render everything
You don't even have to drop off supplies. They will make their own supplies from industrial plots. It's basically Sim city. You can be super involved if you want or just set a leader and let them do it all themselves.
I'm on xbox what is the best mod combo within ss2 for me within the allowable 2 gigs? I've seen some playthroughs with it and it looks fun as hell. I'll be starting a new clean save.
Just put all 3 and you might have like 90 mb left for a gun or armour, cheat tape, everyone's best friend. When I play sim settlements I rely on CC weapons and the handmade from nuka world for guns becuase of our limited mod room. I hate Bethesda ripped us off with mod room, id love to play this with my favorite gun and armour
@skeeter3969 eh I gave up. I had ss2 and rotc only with workshop framework and it broke wsfw and corrupted the save file before I left the vault. I'll just keep to building my own settlements.
@@steveeymann6374 Man I feel bad for you if having only 3 mods broke everything. My mods list is at 1.95 GB out of the whole 2 and from what I can see everything properly works with very little to no crashing or corruption, lag for sure because I'm on XB1 but everything works.
So a couple questions: 1) Are the plans you are downloading for SS1 or SS2? 2) Do you have any city plan tag filters that are blacklisted. You can check this by activating the drawer on the city planner's desk under the safe.
What If Bethesda just made better and more interesting cities like they used to in the Oblivion days? I miss the days of walking around in a world where everything didn't look the same.
The one thing that kept me from ever trying out Sim Settlements is that no matter how much about it I read or watch, the words "challenge", "strategy" or "trade-off" are never ever mentioned in combination with it. It's just more stuff "to do" it seems (and more quests, gah).
It started off as a mod for people who didn't want to do all the settlement building and management by hand, why are you expecting more 'challenge' out of this? Besides it can be as automated or manual as you want, it just gives you the tools to do so. And you can basically skip all the quests and unlock every new piece/feature from the get-go, if that's your thing.
No reason a mod should be this hard to figure out how to download, I give up just going to download the kids that copied off yours waaaaaay easier to use.
Doesn’t tell you where to get the sensor, doesn’t tell you where to meet the guy, doesn’t tell you really anything but information id need if the mod actually worked. Stop thinking like a nerd, and think like a cave man. You lost me. Dislike.
Dont waste You time Downloading this, It broken, JAke doesnt turn up or the Sim settlement Doesnt show up in the build menu at the settlement, Only a few fews old it Broken all ready
I got city plans installed but when I go too try and switch the city plans it's doesn't show the others I have installed do you know why that is one I downloaded it should show in game or do with have to start a new game in order for it too show ? 😮 @kinggath
So a couple questions: 1) Are the plans you are downloading for SS1 or SS2? 2) Do you have any city plan tag filters that are blacklisted. You can check this by activating the drawer on the city planner's desk under the safe.
I can’t play Starfield because of this mod. All I think about is how much better the game will be after you and the team get a hold of the toolkit!

So I had start a new play through.) (I had to force myself into chapter 3 invading gnn. because of that algeron bug I encounter
But onething that did happen.
Same thing herw
Is it available on ps5 I can't find it
I pretty much have every sim settlement mod installed and I only get two options for each settlement:( basic and contest
My system runs at 417fps with ultra settings LOL. Think it can handle the upgrading of settlements. I built Sanctuary and didn't know about the city plan desk LOl. Guess time to get it working as I would prefer it upgrade on its own.
Thank u❤❤❤
can i download this mod for open game?
Anyone having issues with CTD when using city plans and walking towards the settlement. my method of making it to the center of the settlement is to point the camera downward to the ground and walk towards them.
If you are on PC, are you able to COC to the settlement? I have also found that if you are moving too fast you can cause a lot of issues with the game loading and unloading resources.
Maybe try slowly moving towards a settlement and taking a minute to let the engine render everything
Im new to the mod, is this mod basically drop off supplies and not worry anything about building and seeing auto growth?
You don't even have to drop off supplies. They will make their own supplies from industrial plots. It's basically Sim city. You can be super involved if you want or just set a leader and let them do it all themselves.
this shit is so dope thank u so much
I'm on xbox what is the best mod combo within ss2 for me within the allowable 2 gigs?
@@ImFuckinLazynot really worth it with the lack of mod space you can’t even add any extras from the mod lol
Im on XBOX and none of the city plan mods I download are giving me the option to change the city plan
So a couple questions:
1) Are the plans you are downloading for SS1 or SS2?
2) Do you have any city plan tag filters that are blacklisted. You can check this by activating the drawer on the city planner's desk under the safe.
SS2. I dont believe ive blacklisted anything but i'll check.
@@s.k.6100
Mine just stops halfway into building
How much does SS2 cost?
Free
I thought you just had tcl command to fly around in workshop mode, lol.
What If Bethesda just made better and more interesting cities like they used to in the Oblivion days? I miss the days of walking around in a world where everything didn't look the same.
My cityplanner table doesn't even look like this ....
Triangle of death.... rip starlight drive in on console
Kinggath can you please lower the size of sim settlements so I can download a minutemen mod or can you add it
and can we make our own loadouts
Sad that you can fit anything other than this mod.. especially if you are on console and you can’t even fit the extras for the mod lol
Remove the NPC that starts the quest. It's bugged, it doesn't appear and I can't even start the mod using the holodisk in Concord.
No reason a mod should be this hard to figure out how to download, I give up just going to download the kids that copied off yours waaaaaay easier to use.
You are challenged
@@AaronRodgeer yup, in the mental department
Doesn’t tell you where to get the sensor, doesn’t tell you where to meet the guy, doesn’t tell you really anything but information id need if the mod actually worked. Stop thinking like a nerd, and think like a cave man. You lost me. Dislike.
Dont waste You time Downloading this, It broken, JAke doesnt turn up or the Sim settlement Doesnt show up in the build menu at the settlement, Only a few fews old it Broken all ready
i just downloaded the mod today and the stranger showed up and gave me the asmr sensors or whatever they're called.
I’ve installed and uninstalled multiple versions of this mod. and never have i come across the problem you are mentioning.
There are boxes of ASAMs and a holotape instruction at the Freedom museum in Concord. You can then use and control the mod.
I got city plans installed but when I go too try and switch the city plans it's doesn't show the others I have installed do you know why that is one I downloaded it should show in game or do with have to start a new game in order for it too show ? 😮 @kinggath
So a couple questions:
1) Are the plans you are downloading for SS1 or SS2?
2) Do you have any city plan tag filters that are blacklisted. You can check this by activating the drawer on the city planner's desk under the safe.
Did you ever find a fix?
