Whatever trials and tribulations you get in your travels it looks like your camping sites worked out pretty good. The land up north can be an interesting mix of paper mills, Brookefield energy, state, and even Penobscot land. In a lot of cases they open the land up for use but you never know exactly what you are going to get. Sometimes it's a locked gate. I was up at Moosehead just a couple of weekends ago trying out a new campsite but unfortunately for me I picked a site near a popular fly fishing area on one of the busiest fishing weekends of the year. Ended up driving an hour around the lake to Spencer Bay because if all else fails there is almost always a spot there. There's also 4 campers full of rowdy lobster men who (surprise) go fishing on vacation. Nice enough guys and now I know the words to every Hank Williams Jr song and then some.
Yea you truly never know what you’re gonna get in Maine! We thought about the Spencer Bay Area but lucked out with that last spot. Our return trip though we ended up with one of the best camp spots I’ve ever experienced. Sounds like you had a good experience with the lobster guys though 🤣 thanks for watching 🤙🏻
I have a camp not far from the B52 site. When I saw your map outlining going from there to Jo-Mary I giggled. The AMC bought that land over there and threw up a bunch of gates so you are forced to go one particular way so you have to pay to get through. the paper companies put up gates a long time ago but I see private land owners place many more over recent years. Sad and frustrating for sure. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Welcome my 4wd friends! I'm blessed to have this as my backyard. You guys were right near one of my shooting spots by the B52 memorial. I'm a couple hours away from there but make it up whenever possible.
Maine is such an amazing state and there is so much to explore and see! Who else has traveled through the Northwood?
Pulled pork Mac n cheese is da bomb! I really enjoyed watching how you guys approach those technical obstacles, I try to learn how you do it.
Thank you for sharing!!!
You bet, glad you enjoyed it!

Care to share the last lake camp spot
It’s called lucky pond primitive camp site. It’s one the north side of Moosehead Lake
Was the road still washed out by tour last campsite? That's a good go-around loop that is drive-able ;)

Yea it was a little unfortunate running into that gate but made for a good adventure on a fun trail.
Great video! Beautiful views and trails. Sorry to hear about the gate and your power steering. Did you get it fixed?
Oh yea it came back on a few minutes after it went out, I cleaned the connection at camp just to be safe
