  • I think Yamaha is the best hardware competition, but again, Konami VRC7 loses, and it's nothing worth for me...

  • @oldphonepreservation

    Original poster here!
    Calling the original chip "Konami" doesn't really tell the full story - both are Yamaha chips. The VRC7 is an even more cut down version of the YM2413, itself a cut down version of the YM3812.
    The reason that VRC7 patches work at all on the SMAF series is due to their OPL lineage, the same can be said for OPL2 and OPL3 patches to an extent.

    • @opptweets4143
      @opptweets4143  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I know. People would really think that Konami isn't just the full story, but everyone talks about VRC7 where it sounds so good than some sort of Yamaha sound chip.
      Unfortunately, I bet TH-cam wouldn't allow me to pin this comment because it forced to verify me; it's like TH-cam will ever try to expose my personal information which I don't want to do that.

    • @oldphonepreservation

      Old Phone Preservation is not laughing at you like that. Wait, are you Daniel? I knew it!! Daniel, you seriously need to get off of my channel at once and think about what you did in 2021 for not crediting to Old Phone Preservation. Is it so hard to find a proper creator of this video? If Old Phone Preservation *HAS* videos on his TH-cam channel, so he can make a copyright complaint against you and you'll receive a Copyright strike.
      During this copyright strike, you will see no fun with your effort. No one will help you, only TH-cam can. You think you can get away with ridiculing me along with all of my subscribers, Old Phone Preservation, Lightness Collector, MirageIsAlive, Eduardo the Phone Fan, SgtPepperArc360, Angelo the Kitten and more, huh? And besides, Copyright strike is also behind of bars like how you were in jail.

      Yes, the VRC7 chip contains a PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) module. The PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) module is responsible for encoding and decoding digital audio sampled at a particular sampling frequency. Definitely, I don't talk about DPCM, so there's PCM.

    **Circuit** I need to output an 8.7
    **FM Tuner** Closest I can do is 9. No decimals.
    This creates an inaccuracy in mixing and causes quantization noise.
    In another words, this chip's mixer is garbage.
