tips: 1- control what you can control: your look and fit 2- know your students 3- get your material right 4-be an expert or fake it😂 5- presence is everything 6- your voices is king 7- don't rumble 8- practice with your peers
i'm currently 16 and i've been hired by one of my ex-teachers to help her during english tutoring (i'm self taught, so doing all the explaining can be both hard and exhausting when dealing with children). i currently struggle a bunch with keeping 9-10 year olds engaged in class. i noticed i might be lacking presence or even authority in the classroom (which hinders the quality of the classes) so these tips are great! thank you for this video :)
Omg I feel so dumb right now T.T I wish I watched this video before starting to teach, I am an extremely introverted person and I am struggling with the teaching thing wondering if I can actually be a good teacher :( you described me exactly how I think the students look me sometimes in the first clip, and it´s embarrasing to admit it bc I keep self-sabotaging instead of trying to be more confident. Thank you for the video, there are some points I still need to improve like the tone of the voice, the confidence and the last tip is a gem tbh, I am going to put it on practice, I always study and review my lessons but I think I still need to study even more in order to become like the queen in the topic lmao, thank u for the video!!!
These are perfect tips, and "knowing/mastering the subject that you are teaching always, always worked for me. My students in high school and at the university where I teach as an adjunct love it when they see that I know what the heck I'm teaching and make them part of the studies and subject at hand. Benefits both of us.
Thank you so much for these- I start teaching on Wednesday and confidence is really the only thing I’m worried about- the thought of being observed😩 thanks!
I tried teching in a language centre for a year and a half and despite learning to project a confident facade never got comfortable with it, just became more insecure and toxic. Taking a break for now, dunno if it's even worth it 🤨
I am so antisocial and shy person, but i like literature and i like to teach it. Please give advice to become best lecturer without making a real connection with students
I will say the connection with the students is what helps them retain information more especially if you relate the content to their level and ideas. Connections are key. But just a personal opinion, this has been working for me! Not all classrooms are the same 😊

I learn a lot from your videos😊 I'm starting an online teaching program for beginners. Do you have tips for online teaching?
Depends. What online platform are you planning to use? And for what ages? (Adults or kids?)
@patriciafaria8835
Depends... What platform will you be using and for what age group?
I don’t have any vids yet for online teaching, but I do have a complete series on beginners you can check out.
Good information thanks
Very good! Thank you!

Where is part two?
Thank u teacher. Would you talk about time management and an effective lesson plan next time pliz
I can try!
These tips works as a short term solution. You are screwed as long as your confidence depends on external factors.
Such as?

Changing your appearance from a man to a woman 😂😂😂 cool tip
Ha! Good point!
I support it. 😅
Blah, too much sales
Sorry to hear that. I’ll do better next time.
