Haha, vielen Dank ;-)Ich habe ehrlich gesagt garnicht so viel versaut, ich glaube das Zauberwort heißt "Geduld". Die meisten Fehler passieren, wenn man es zu eilig hat. Für mich hat das Sägen mit der Dekupiersäge ein Wenig was von "Mahlen nach Zahlen".... immer der Linie entlang sägen und alles ist OK ;-)
So ca. 18-20 Jahre ist's her: Im Werkunterricht in der Schule hatten wir auch 2 Decoupiersägen (ich denke mal Proxxon oder sowas, ich weiss nicht mehr) Alle 3 Minuten machte es Ping! neues Blatt. Ping! neues Blatt. Ping! neues Blatt..... Ich hasse Decoupiersägen bis heute, und werde sicher auch nie eine anschaffen.... Umsomehr staune ich über Leute wie du, die die Geduld aufbringen mit dermassen mühsamen Maschinen zu arbeiten und so schöne Sachen da drauf zu machen wissen. Bravo!

Das waren bestimmt einfache Laubsägeblätter aus dem Baumarkt ;-) Tatsache ist, dass gute Sägeblätter (z.B. von Niqua) erst reißen, wenn sie stumpf werden und dann tauscht man sie meist vorher gegen ein ein Neues.

Das perfekte Rezept für Frustration und leck-mich-Syndrom. Mein Freund für so feine Sachen ist die Laubsäge. Die reisst mir fast nie, die habe ich viel besser im Gespür, obschon ich sie nur 2-3x/Jahr brauche...
It is my opinion that every finish is food safe once it is completely cured. To be on the safe side you can use a drying oil like raw linseed oil or walnut oil. You can also use a non drying oil like mineral oil.

I really don’t know whether he’s going to sell it or not, but I’d get Hyezmar’s book before he sells it. It has some good plans, others not so good, but it’s something to work with at least:)
+john8291964 I think I used "pure" Tung Oil on this one (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tung_oil). I do like to use drying (resinification, polymerization) oils. Olive will not cure and can get rancid. Linseed, walnut and tung oil would be fine as long as it's pure oil without any additives like metal dryers.

Peugeot Energy Scroll 400 V but it's not a great saw. I don't have enough experience with all the different brands to give you an honest recommendation. I belive in the lower price range the saws are pretty much the same. If you like to spend a little more I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with a hegner, excalibur or pegas.

Do you mean the inlay? If you cut from the other direction you have to fit the inlay from the bottom, or you need to tilt the table in the other direction too.
Nice plan! I made it, but I made the mouse a little smaller and shortened the nose and tail a bit. The original looks like a rat. Also I found the super glue made the sawdust filler turn a little darker when dry. To avoid this maybe CA glue is the best choice. I used a perfect 90 degree angle for the saw blade and it was good. For the finish I used "Clapham's Beeswax Salad Bowl Finish". Thanks for the design idea.
Thanks! To fill small gaps, yes! It's easier and faster, because you don't need to mix the dust with the glue and it hardens instantly. Just rub some fine dust into the gap pour some low viscose superglue over it and you can sand it after a few minutes.

Exactly! Otherwise the hole would be slightly larger than the inlay because of the thickness of the saw blade.

Don't know, I made this over two years ago. The angle depends on the widths of the blade and the thickness of the wood. So it's different every time.

It's waterproof wood glue. Superglue is the same chemical as CA glue, Cyanoacrylate. So it's the same stuff ;-)
