    I’m so glad I found your channel. I just bought my first scroll saw. I’ve been a woodworker for a long rime and always wanted to try this. Your videos are so well made and you simplify the process when teaching. Thank you for sharing this.

    You presented a very thorough, clearly explained process. You took what many would see as intimidating and made it quite approachable. Thank you for an excellent video. Blessings, Glen

    Why does the direction of cut matter when you're doing a segmentation?

    • @SusanLoar
      @SusanLoar  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bushwacker49 makes a difference on the final appearance of the piece. The pilot hole is hidden better. It also creates the top piece to go into the bottom piece. You could change the direction if you want by tilting the head or the table to the other side and then cut in the opposite direction.

    Simple design, but elegant. Very nice. I like it! Which Titebond was that you used? I don't have that one.

    • @SusanLoar
      @SusanLoar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is called Titebond quick and thick. It is in a gray bottle and it’s only for interior projects. I like it because it dries so quickly.

    Before you push in the inlay, mix and dab in some sawdust n glue in the drill hole. Turns out better.

      @@SusanLoar thanks for your reply, im using 1 1/4 inch sheets of ply. iv e tried loads of different degrees to cut it...from 2 degrees to 4 degrees, and cant stop it falling out of the bottom, any help plz? ty rob.

    • @SusanLoar
      @SusanLoar  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@roberthossack286 does the piece fit into the top? If this does, that means you are feeding the peace into the blade the wrong way.. if you have been going clockwise, then go counterclockwise or vice versa. Hopefully this helps.

    I don't understand why you cut on a slight angle for inlay???

    • @SusanLoar
      @SusanLoar  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is to make a tight fit. You could cut at a 90 degree angle but there will be a slight gap the width of the blade when
      you put them together. The angle creates a nice tight fit. My suggestion is to cut them both ways so that you can
      decide what kind of look you would like. I hope this helps.
