      +John Alger, the Constitution and SCOTUS deal with this. People who are facing life imprisonment or the death penalty, for committing violent felonies against the public, may be held without bond.
      Everyone else is entitled to bond. The rule is that you get bond, and the government must make very careful exceptions to this, you cannot simply hold people without bond to punish them (as they are not convicted of anything). Rather, it must be out of pure necessity and only in a very small minority of cases. DUI and Drug Addiction don't qualify.

      She didnt kill anyone wtf r u on, crack too? The dude was lying in the middle of the road ',prone', which, since im guessing you dont have a grasp on the english language, means face down, completely flat on the ground. Its not like this was a moving pedestrian, it would be hard for anyone not to hit him, hence the bystander trying to flag her down which may have distracted her and made it worse. We dont know what that looked like, how light or dark out it was, what the 'flagging' looked like. As a lone woman in unfamiliar territory at night or even late afternoon to evening, its seldom I would stop for someone as this is a common ruse used by predators. I am in no way excusing drinking and driving, but I do believe this was an exceptional event due to the aforementioned facts of the case. Let the poor woman out on bond/house arrest, take her license away, require interlock to be intstalled in any car she has access to (in this case her father). Certain ankle monitors can detect alcohol or there are devices people are sent home with where they must blow into a small tube 3 times or more a day, even at work. I dont see why this couldnt have been an option, if the family is begging for bond, not a lower bond, one would assume they have money to pay for all of these things.

      @daniellewise6840 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@babyfirefly1843 Yes she didn't kill anyone, but she did not stay at the scene. She drove away and fixed her jeep to not be caught. That is the danger. She would rather cover something up to save herself leaving someone for dead. Thank god he did not die, but he came close to. If this happened to your dad or brother and the suspect wanted leniency would you want them to have it? She probably wouldn't have even gotten in trouble if she stayed and called the police herself. A lot of states have laws set in place so that if a driver does hit someone in the roadway it will be investigated until they come to the conclusion that it couldn't be avoided and that it exonerates the driver from any wrongdoing. This is a real thing and if that woman was in the right state of mind instead of being so self-absorbed, she would not be receiving a sentence. Look up the laws on what your state has written on this type of situation if you don't believe me. There was nothing she could have done to avoid hitting him, but she made the decision to leave and that is a horrendous crime. Think again before you speak like a crack head yourself.

    My eldest daughter needed surgery. I can tell you after having her femurs broken and reset, it hurt her so badly! Much more than I ever dreamed it would! It's been 14 years, when I close my eyes, I can still hear her screaming! That was her home recovery, and it was one leg at a time. They had to break her tibia as well. My heart is absolutely broken, absolutely broken for this poor, dear man!!! I can't imagine in my wildest dreams how much pain he is in! His sister said the pain meds don't help him! Damn that hurts me to hear! It really does!!! Being a mom, I can't help but cry for him! But, if the meds did help him, he could be addicted, and then what? I am praying for him! Lord please help this poor man! In Jesus Holy Name, Amen ❣❣❣And, his family, too! They are hurting with him!🙏🙏🙏 In Christian Love, Grace
