Hi. 45 year-old who bought his first Switch late last year, and have got beyond putting the Minecraft card in the device. How do you rate my chances of finding out what's going on with this game?
Take this with a grain of salt since I’ve been playing games since I was a kid but I think Minecraft is a great game to get started on. The controls aren’t too complex, you can go as deep or as shallow into the various mechanics as you like and be as creative as you want. You set your own goals until you want to go find the more late game activities. Let us know how your journey goes!
Im 39 and got Minecraft for the switch for my kids this christmas. My advice, start a survival game on Peaceful so you get the experience of mining and building without worrying about dying. Creative is too overwhelming since I don't know what all the items do yet.
It's been about 5 years since I've played minecraft and I've apparently purged all knowledge except using space to swim up. I can't explain how much I appreciate this video considering the only reason I remember space to swim up is because someone asked if I was r****ded when I mentioned I'd drowned because I didn't know how to swim in this goddamn game 😅
I've watched dozens of starting guides, and they all assume I know things a seasoned minecraft player would know. They say things like "make tools for the first night, and cook some food" without explaining how to cook or even build. You made the best minecraft starting guide, thank you so much
I’m up there in age and I love Minecraft! I used to tell my son how boring I thought it was when he started playing Minecraft! Lol boy was I wrong. I play this now with my young adult kids! I started playing video games when I was about 4 or 5 Atari, Coleco vision, Nintendo all of it! Helped my son build both his gaming Pc’s we’re hardcore gamers in my house, I raised gamers lol I am proud of my hardworking young adult kids who have jobs in day and game at night lol! Seriously though Minecraft is truly a great game. I’m currently building a lighthouse that works. Ty for the videos you post, I’m a new fan:)
For anyone wondering a wood block only cooks/smelts 1.5 items but if you craft that wood block you can make 4 planks and each of those 4 planks can also cook 1.5 items. In total you go from being able to cook 1.5 items with 1 wood to cooking 6 items with the 4 planks you made from 1 wood.
I remember when it first came out on PC early 2000s and man it has grown so much then . Almost overwhelming. Minecraft is by far one of the best games ever.
Thank you for this. When I was younger I spent 6 years playing consistently… now I’m older and more there is so much cool stuff but I have no idea what it all is and what I can do. I still have all the old building guide books

You actually only need 10 obsidian for the portal. It only needs to be 2 blocks wide and 3 tall. Also, the first thing to do once in the nether is to link the nether-side portal to the one in the overworld. If you don't, the same netherside portal might generate a different overworld-side portal when you go back through. Just break the netherside portal and rebuild it at the coordinates you get by dividing the overworld coordinates X and Z by 8.
I’ve played minecraft creative for about 8 years now and have never played survival because I never tried it, this really helped me with my first survival world :)

Yes, another question. Should I play the game for a month or 2 to survive my grandkids ? They've been playing while. Like yrs. Youngest 3 but oldest will be 11! Sounds like I can be killed! How do I survive 4 grandkids who may be brave enough to try? We're just a bit competitive. 😂 Runs in the family 😁 Have a feeling my parents (in their 70's) are going to get in on the action! Jeez that's another 2 to defend myself against but I can get them on my side, maybe. 🤔
I'm literally BRAND NEW to Minecraft. Trying to learn about before I dive in. The reason is, my grandkids which are all playing. Question: I remember stoping many fights with one screaming "You destroyed my blah blah blah ..." So can anybody including my grandkids simply destroy what I make? Because if this is time consuming like Farmville was when it came out I will be pissed and I completely understand why certain grandkids were thoroughly pissed when their "stuff" was destroyed. If they can destroy what I create/build is there a way to stop them in the game vs threatening them in real life? 😂 Please take "threaten" very minor. Like I would cut off Reese's and institute yard work. 1 would love it, It's have to come up with something more creative for that 1 (out of 5) Oh!!!!!! Wait a minute, if and that's a big IF! If they could destroy my "stuff" that means I could destroy their stuff??? What is a MeMaw to do if..... Granted, it would work for 4 out of 5. 🤔 Let me know but I'm thinking they can destroy and MeMaw can pay back in kind which they'll NEVER think I would but I will. This could be a Fun War and Lessons learned! I got 3 granddaughter (1 being a tough Tom Boy) and 2 boys. My ( shhhhhhhh!!!! ) fav is the Tom Boy and she would never destroy my "stuff" but she be my accomplice! Ok. This sounds like a blast! Should I pay the $30-40? Should I get a VR set? Is there a kit I can buy for my laptop? I will NOT pay over $75-$100! Please guide me!
Me and my daughter complete armored up in diamond and now we have zero clue what we’re even supposed to do. We’re just aimlessly mining for more diamonds I guess. Guess I don’t know why we should farm or raise animals either. We’ve had no shortage of food…. All too confusing.
just mine the block 1 step infront of u down, then the one above that. step forward, u'll drop down one block then do the same again... and u'll have a stair case going down
What, World? Apparently my grandkids already have a world to play together? Assuming they're on the same server. I'm a bit confused. I'm thinking my son would have to OK me on their server assuming Minecraft has parental controls and he has enabled them. Would I still need to create own "World"? Again, I am so confused!

Please take "threaten" very minor. Like I would cut off Reese's and institute yard work. 1 would love it, It's have to come up with something more creative for that 1 (out of 5)
Oh!!!!!! Wait a minute, if and that's a big IF! If they could destroy my "stuff" that means I could destroy their stuff???
What is a MeMaw to do if..... Granted, it would work for 4 out of 5. 🤔
Let me know but I'm thinking they can destroy and MeMaw can pay back in kind which they'll NEVER think I would but I will.
Fyi... My grandkids have Minecraft on their tablets. All 5 of them.
Me and my daughter complete armored up in diamond and now we have zero clue what we’re even supposed to do. We’re just aimlessly mining for more diamonds I guess. Guess I don’t know why we should farm or raise animals either. We’ve had no shortage of food…. All too confusing.
Make a portal and explore the Netherworld. Fight the Ender Dragon
I need help with my mod downloads forge won’t install properly
So how far away from water is "too far away" to get wet when starting a farm?
Four blocks from the water source.
@@TheBreakdownXYZ Thanks!
The fact that you can make armor out of diamonds but not stone is mind boggling 😂
Amazing guise!
the early game grind is tedious as hell, i probably did this 5 times now
Why am I watching this, I've been playing the game since the beta days of early 2011. :D
How do u mine in a staircase like that?
just mine the block 1 step infront of u down, then the one above that. step forward, u'll drop down one block then do the same again... and u'll have a stair case going down
Good videos 😊
I just downloaded it on my new iPhone, and watching it
What, World? Apparently my grandkids already have a world to play together? Assuming they're on the same server. I'm a bit confused. I'm thinking my son would have to OK me on their server assuming Minecraft has parental controls and he has enabled them.
Would I still need to create own "World"?
Again, I am so confused!
Or have my grandkids all created their own worlds? If so how do they interact? And how can I explore other people's worlds?
Jeez, I'm so confused. 😕
Wait do they each have a world and interact or has 1 world been created that they play in?
Trying to make obsidian but all i get is some kind of regular stone..
First pin❤️
This is to simple I wanna know what that big boss is and the new bios under grown and stuff
I love this!
Glad you enjoyed it and happy we could help!
