Fuck jigsaw puzzles. The last time I tried to put one together was stupid. I got a 500 piece puzzle from the dollar store of a picture of Egyptian pyramids. Had a really hard time until I realized that they put the wrong puzzle in the box. I was trying to put together a puzzle of the Grand Canyon using a picture of Egypt as a reference.

There are some "original" elements in EBBD, but it is definitely a retooled/reskinned version of Tricolore...which isn't all that surprising when you think about it. A lot of the "last leg" Playstation 1 titles were games from the "Simple" series, or games that did not get the "green light" way back when they should have during the system's golden days...however, several "A1 Games", "Success" and "Natsume" "Mud Duck" and other publisher titles were surprisingly decent for the low budget...it's unfortunate that EBBD wasn't quite like that, but I enjoyed titles like Puzzle Star Sweep, Battle Hunter, Top Shop, etc. --- :)

Top Shop/Tenant Wars was my late childhood. One of the very aesthetically "Japanese" titles to get a US release, but a passable party game. The Saturn version is on my hitlist.

It has been two more years.
I've always been a huge proponent of "Kids deserve better." It always pisses me off when people give horribly cheap, crap, games or movies or TV shows made for kids where they just didn't try, a pass simply because they were "made for kids". You see this attitude in so much media. "Oh, it's just for kids!" That's no excuse for something to be crap or for a story to not make sense or have plot holes you could drive a truck through. Kids are smarter than that. I know I was when I was that age. Kids deserve much better.
Exactly, it's no wonder kids get so messed up. This is my ongoing message with LGR Edutainment Month, as well: trying to weed out the good from the bad in terms of games for kids and educational messages!

I remember playing this as a kid and had no idea what I was doing.. but still fun. Nostalgia.. finally found my treasured childhood game.

I have been meaning to ask you about Shivers from Sierra On-line aka Sierra Entertainment, Inc.
Shivers was a survival horror point-and-click video game published by Sierra On-Line, released in 1995. The story centers around a protagonist exploring a museum on a dare. There are puzzles, jump scares and flashbacks. The quest items spawn in different locations so you can replay the game. There was a sequel Shivers II: Harvest of Souls, but it was not quite as good. Please let me know if you have played either game and would consider doing a review.

I made a Easter game once. It was a tower defense game where you place bunnies with assault weapons and shoot at little kids trying to steal your eggs. The boss was Jesus Christ himself.

There's shovelware and then waaaaaaay below that in the deepest, darkest depths of hell there are games like this.
This is like something you'd get for free in a cereal box, not on the Playstation.
When Tomba 2 was a cereal box game, I expect more from them than this game would have provided XD

+Mr Know Nothing This is just Japan not understanding western culture, and looking to make a quick buck. Also have to remember that less then 1% of the Japanese population is of the Christian faith, so it's them again not knowing about western culture.
Commodorefan64 I mean visually you would never would have guessed this was a Japanese developed game. Usually you can spot a Japanese game, even the games like Quantum Theory which are very western in style and is a blatant Gears of War clone; has a little something which gives it away.
Oh my, I actually remember having this game over at one of my grandparent's house. All we had was the CD. I think I played it, literately, once. But I do remember seeing that very same yellow disc. We didn't have a case for it though. Same with Big Bass World Championship, just a CD in a plastic CD holder, no case. I had no idea this Easter game was rare, and one of my favorite TH-cam reviewers reviewed it. Huh. Anyhow...
Why this was released on PS1 instead of PS2 at this point I don't know.
It may have given you shell shock but it just gave me regular old cancer.
This strikes me as the kind of game a church would have in a back room to distract a noisy kid during mass.

Yeah, I can totally see a market for this on PS1! It was 2003, the PS2 had been out for 3 years and getting the latest new games, it was a shit game about a holiday without the same marketing punch as Christmas...SURE FIRE SUCCESS.

Hey LGR, I have an idea for a classic game you could review, I remember playing this game when I was younger, which is Called "Army Men" released in 1998. Seems like an old game that I would not be surprised if you reviewed it.

I wonder if were not, given the Japanese names and some of the art, originally meant to cash in on the novelty value of certain Western holidays in Japan. I know Christmas is absolutely huge there.
As to the game itself, it looks atrocious, although some of the drawings used for the jigsaws and the like are actually quite cute and really should have been in something better.

I disagree, I've played plenty of games that are this poor on the PS2. And of course, the Atari 2600 was legendary for being full of dross. But I do agree that the PC has more of it.

This is the kind of game you'd get for pc for free when buying an ice cream and it usually has a shitty TV license, you know.
The PS2 (I'm not exactly sure what exactly you are referring to) has tons and tons of shovelware, but from what I've seen most of those are game compilations and puzzle games with a bit more effort put in.
Not the most simple and boring jigsaw puzzle and memory games.
Yeah, the Atari 2600 was almost nothing but shovelware by today's standards.

Yup. Not really exclusively but a lot of it... although I'm not sure I'd say CDTV should be on that list, but on the other hand I haven't seen a lot more than just Amiga games on that thing.
Out of boredom, I looked up Keizo Mochizuki, the director of this game. Not sure if it's the same guy, but apparently someone under that same name was a co-producer for the SNES game E.V.O.: Search For Eden.

You forgot one issue with assembling jigsaw puzzles: cats. I don't think I've ever been able to get one done without a cat plopping down on it. Don't tell me Daisy is keen to just watch you try and complete it!
