Since it launched, I've been a big fan of the Ferrari Roma, especially when I first got an opportunity to get behind the wheel. However, now driving it on the Autobahn and getting more of a sense of what it can offer, it's really very impressive! What do you think, is it a car that would work well in the Shmeemobiles?

Well you could, but it'll cost more but remember that this thing is still a Ferrari.. maybe they (Ferrari) made this car for its fans that can't really afford expensive Ferraris? Or maybe for the people that is still learning to drive sport cars? Or both? That's why in addition to the carbon fibre, it doesn't really matter to them. They could add it if they wanted too. Not comment about "oh this thing is ugly, it's cheap and plasticity". They know they shouldn't expect much about "Entry Level" Ferrari. Cuz they appreciate their own Hardwork they could finally afford a Ferrari. Not sitting on sofa eating Doritos and comment about expecting cars with expensive things with cheap price. Yes! This! If he is going to get yet another supercar, I suggest a V12 - as he said, he has enough V8s already. And the Lamborghini is V10, so there is room for a V12 812! Especially in yellow!

I don't see the point in buying one when you already have several AMG GT models, the SLS Black Series, and you're going to use the SF90 Stradale as a "daily". Plus you seem to be planning to add a V12 Ferrari back to the garage. As lovely as the Roma is, I don't think it has any place in the shmeemobiles.
Congratulations on the 100k! I noticed that you often shoot videos in one go - with no slip of the tongue, without pauses - almost as if you've learned everything by heart, but naturally. For me the Roma isn't about spec, or being a "Ferrari" its purely about the design. It's elegant whilst being beautifully aggressive. It's a car you'd want to drive just because of what it is, not what it can do. Truly a gorgeous car.
To me, it's the only truly beautiful modern Ferrari. And no, it's not an Aston with a prancing horse on its badge. It does look very, very much like a Ferrari. Like a Daytona or a 250 Lusso.
I’ve never wanted a Ferrari as much as this one. A beautiful throwback to the best classic Ferrari designs with modern tech. Surely it doesn’t get better than that!!
Make no mistake, a V12 Ferrari is heavenly. I wouldn't be sad if someone gave me the keys to the Roma though. The way it kept pulling past 180mph with ease suggests to me that it can do more than the claimed 199mph top speed. Very impressive car

He was getting (BUYING) a set of Mercedes cars after doing the Mercedes commercial, then there was a BMW period, now seems like Ferrari. I just see periods of same car manufacturer stuff, basically. The aroma is definitely the “Take her out to dinner” car. Your Aston is probably the only other car in your collection from this category. I don’t like the all black interior, unless it’s tan. It’s unbelievable how easy that it went to 300.

You need to get the 812C. Its a track version of a road car that has a V12. Ticks all 3 boxes for you. And makes an awesome addition to the collection in Ferrari Yellow with the Italian flag striped across
I own 2 FERRARI"S ,I think they are Beautiful cars ,I find driving then nerve racking unless you are on the expressway with little traffic .That is when they area joy . I also bought a 2019 Corvette Stingray I found the Corvette is a JOY to DRIVE any time any where ,my Wife feels the same way and she is ITALIAN

I work in the tech sector. I have no idea why, given the current state of CPU technology at dirt-cheap prices, how a company like Ferrari can't remove lag from their displays, especially given how much they are charging for these cars. I don't think a Ferrari buyer would be against paying another few hundreds for a faster processor when they are willing to pay thousands on a carbon fibre filler cap. Makes no sense how a smart phone can outperform a simple graphic display. Ridiculous.
I think the Roma is a Ferrari to own until it's dead. Great car. At the same time, I bet it's going to age super well (so there'd be value in babying it). Especially because Ferrari's been so edgy recently, I think the Roma will standout in the lineup.
Having driven the Roma and enjoyed its beauty along the way, I can easily say it's one of my favorite Ferraris of the past 20 years. It truly is a stunning car, even more so in person, and feels every bit the supercar while driving. An extremely well thought out package.

Seems to me that since you have the SF90, that's a repeat of sorts. But another Ferrari is always good in your collection. I mean, my favorites are the 458 Speciale and the F12 TDF! This generation of Ferrari seems so.....lifeless. Can't explain it. The F8 Tributo, the SF 90, even the Roma. They all feel like they're missing....I dunno, like the usual Italian pizazz, the grace, the perfect mixture of just *slightly* overdone design.
A great review Tim. I was in Padua two weeks ago and when I walked back to my crappy rental car in the underground car park, there was a blue Roma parked next to me. It was filthy dirty and I would happily have licked it clean 😂. It was absolutely bloody gorgeous!
Stop buying the latest fast car on sale and get a Cobra replica. A good one costs almost the same but will stand out from the rest. A completely new driving experience.

More of a Ferrari mid engine fan myself unless it’s for a V12 of course and you have the V8 AMGs already so not surprised even though you enjoyed the Roma it’s not something you are going to add to the collection. Just want to Say to everyone on the Shmee150 channel to watch the Shmuseum channel and sub over there. Fantastic channel that just carries on from what you are watching here and if we can get Tim up to 4 million plus subs he might then be able to buy that F50 or CarreraGT for the collection!!!
What I like about this is that even the interior etc looks more than just "entry level", definitely worth the money. But if you DID get one, would it be crazy colour combos or keep it simple like the gtc4 and FF etc with TDF blue and silver wheels or something classy?
The Roma is a truly beautiful car. But to be honest, it doesn't really fit in the garage like you said. I think the better option would be to go for the 812 GTS once you're ready to let go of the AMG GT Roadster, a V12 convertible would be amazing while the AMG GT BS would provide you the experience you love from the AMG V8 power plants.
Something about ferrari is dull to me these days. I haven't been excited about a ferrari in probably a decade. The last I truly got excited for was the 599 GTO from memory. I drove a 458 and it just did things too good, I got in the gallardo superleggera and it was an experience with that v10, heavy steering and just overall more driver mechanical feel. The 458 looks so good but I couldn't find that ferrari soul I hoped it would have. Wish I could get a shot in a mclaren they're my f1 team and I've always loved the styling they create and hope I'll have a chance some day especially a 675lt
not sure the price difference, but if price wasn't an issue I'd rather go for a Monza SP2. The Roma looks too .... tame? It looks almost like Pinafarinna took one of the upcoming Nissan Z's and made it Italian.
I do not like the Roma. To me it does not look like a Ferrari grill. I think the Portofino is a more versatile design with the retractable hardtop. Plus the Roma doesn't bring anything unique to your car collection. Do not buy. You've wanted to add another V-12, why not the 812 GTS?
Absolutely not the electronics interface inside will age like the Aston Martin Lagonda that came out in the 70’s..in my opinion. I honestly don’t know why cars don’t have a cradle for phone use & that’s it…maybe it’s just my age though I’m 54 🤷♂️

Fun drive, and if you see it in the garage for the upcoming 2022 Shmee150 season, why not? It could be the right car for a tour of Adriatic Sea countries. Pick it up at the factory, get the miles on the car through the mountains and have a blast down South. Perhaps in Avorio or Giallo Modena, thank you👍
You should quit buying. Buying every car you see is getting a bit boring. All seems a bit unattainable, and less critical of what you are buying. Like just buying “likes” for the channel. Running though specs and numbers are fun, but they are starting to all just run together with different plastic pieces. “Seen through glass” his show is so visual, funny and insightful. All the buying is losing your look, your old shows are great.
I am still unsure why you are going to buy the SF90 actually... It doesn't fit in your collection because it isn't a light weight track focused variant so maybe you needed to buy one to get a 812 GTS from new? And very interesting to see how Ferrari are positioning themselves in the market with cars like the Roma which are more focused on luxury rather then emotions from sound necessarily because of electrification on the horizon
Well, it is not uncommon that battery 🔋 depletion in the Roma can occur if not used for two weeks! Time to replace the battery in my GTC4 Lusso was 2 hours and that was despite being on the trickle charger 🔌 So, good luck gran turismo touring in the middle of nowhere and you have a battery 🔋 issue….
Here in Perth, Western Australia.. If your coming up quicker in the right hand lane, They will go from the left lane to the right lane so you need to slow down. Damn wish Perth drivers would do the same as what happens on Germany's Autobahns

The Roma looks like it should be a concept come to life, like the LC500. It's as much an art installation, as it is machine masterpiece.

More of a Ferrari mid engine fan myself unless it’s for a V12 of course and you have the V8 AMGs already so not surprised even though you enjoyed the Roma it’s not something you are going to add to the collection.

What I like about this is that even the interior etc looks more than just "entry level", definitely worth the money. But if you DID get one, would it be crazy colour combos or keep it simple like the gtc4 and FF etc with TDF blue and silver wheels or something classy?

The Roma is a truly beautiful car. But to be honest, it doesn't really fit in the garage like you said. I think the better option would be to go for the 812 GTS once you're ready to let go of the AMG GT Roadster, a V12 convertible would be amazing while the AMG GT BS would provide you the experience you love from the AMG V8 power plants.
I don't think the Roma is an interesting addition to the collection in any way, considering all the cars you already have and the ones coming

Something about ferrari is dull to me these days. I haven't been excited about a ferrari in probably a decade. The last I truly got excited for was the 599 GTO from memory. I drove a 458 and it just did things too good, I got in the gallardo superleggera and it was an experience with that v10, heavy steering and just overall more driver mechanical feel. The 458 looks so good but I couldn't find that ferrari soul I hoped it would have. Wish I could get a shot in a mclaren they're my f1 team and I've always loved the styling they create and hope I'll have a chance some day especially a 675lt

not sure the price difference, but if price wasn't an issue I'd rather go for a Monza SP2. The Roma looks too .... tame? It looks almost like Pinafarinna took one of the upcoming Nissan Z's and made it Italian.

I do not like the Roma. To me it does not look like a Ferrari grill. I think the Portofino is a more versatile design with the retractable hardtop. Plus the Roma doesn't bring anything unique to your car collection. Do not buy. You've wanted to add another V-12, why not the 812 GTS?
Absolutely not the electronics interface inside will age like the Aston Martin Lagonda that came out in the 70’s..in my opinion. I honestly don’t know why cars don’t have a cradle for phone use & that’s it…maybe it’s just my age though I’m 54 🤷♂️

You should quit buying. Buying every car you see is getting a bit boring. All seems a bit unattainable, and less critical of what you are buying. Like just buying “likes” for the channel. Running though specs and numbers are fun, but they are starting to all just run together with different plastic pieces. “Seen through glass” his show is so visual, funny and insightful. All the buying is losing your look, your old shows are great.
I am still unsure why you are going to buy the SF90 actually... It doesn't fit in your collection because it isn't a light weight track focused variant so maybe you needed to buy one to get a 812 GTS from new? And very interesting to see how Ferrari are positioning themselves in the market with cars like the Roma which are more focused on luxury rather then emotions from sound necessarily because of electrification on the horizon
Well, it is not uncommon that battery 🔋 depletion in the Roma can occur if not used for two weeks! Time to replace the battery in my GTC4 Lusso was 2 hours and that was despite being on the trickle charger 🔌 So, good luck gran turismo touring in the middle of nowhere and you have a battery 🔋 issue….
Here in Perth, Western Australia.. If your coming up quicker in the right hand lane, They will go from the left lane to the right lane so you need to slow down.
Damn wish Perth drivers would do the same as what happens on Germany's Autobahns
