      @@F1ll1nTh3Blanks I'm saying that for Ferrari. . . unimpressive.
      Im a huge fan of Ferrari and also TheCarGuys site where Damien who runs that site actually owns Lamborghini's, Porsches, Ferrari and Aston Martin's.
      Damien just rolled his eyes when he saw the Roma and asked the following questions:
      Who exactly are Ferrari actually trying to sell it to?
      The Ferrari V8 crowd want the Pista, the now impressive F8 Tributo and the even faster and more impressive SF90 Stradale.
      12 Cylinder Crowd - are only now receiving the 812 Superfast and Superfast Spyder. The 12 crowd are awaiting the alleged scaled down version of the Ferrari LaFerrari which now appears to be a rapidly receding myth.
      So . . . where does that leave the aesthetically unpleasant Roma ? In fact when the Roma was announced there was an immediate spike in V12 Berlinetta's. That says it all !

  • @BohdanWynnyckyj
    @BohdanWynnyckyj 4 ปีที่แล้ว +36

    I think it is the best car ever built. It looks expensive but, somehow subtle. Aston martin db11 looks like a sports car and so is vantage. Ferrari Roma is elegant, not screamingly luxury but also nor sporty nor too aggressive. I have never liked a ferrari throughout my entire life, and was very confused why people were getting excited about them, but this changed it all. Aston is a sports car, but this is a proper GT. Elegant is really the word for it.

      Because now it is more obvious than ever. This frustrating SUV madness has reached such levels we haven't ever imagined. Bentley, Aston, Mercedes, Rolls, Lamborghini, BMW, Audi, and so on rely mainly on crossovers; And as he said before, when brands start to produce fancy looking products (in order to just persuade customers) instead of well engineered, risk-taker and sensible cars, we end with crap like SUVs. In 5 years, second hand market will be *flooded* with such hideous and useless machines.
      It is kinda curious how some magazines and TV programmes tried to question the electric vehicle, as if it was some kind of enemy, yet the real problem were the goddamn SUVs.

      David FE It is so interesting to see so many viral ‘car guys’ discussing design. To be able to truly understand design and design evolution and the actual art in the lines of a particular automobile, and if one is not extremely knowledgeable about what came before, (circa 1930s) when designing a car became an art, then very quickly these thoughts by these ‘car guys’ sound like only mis-informed and passionate opinions at times. I am certainly not saying that about this particular interview. However it is important to note that the design of the Ferrari Roma was inspired by the early 1960s Ferrari Lusso. If you take a look at that sleek coupe you will see that Ferrari has at least a few times previously, created a smooth elegant and curvaceous body. That automobile actually looks like several other exotic automobiles of the early 60s as well.

    While it's definitely there, I didn't see the Aston Martin resemblance until it was pointed out to me. The more I look at the Roma I can see hints of AMG GT in there as well but I think it's a stretch to call it a straight up copy while the 612 exists.

    @valensi1988 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Chris, you always said you don’t understand much design and aesthetics.
    Well, this is the case.
    What matters in car design is not if the side glass is identical, virtually every car makes shares glass houses and windshields.
    What matters in car design is proportion, and proportions in the Vantage and in the Roma are completely different.

      @valensi1988 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike W. Dash I think people have an obsessive perception of the finer details, and focus all their attention on those, forgetting to look at a car as a whole.
      Why? Cause it’s easier to spot similarities rather than differences.
      These are the people that will look at the car in the flesh for the first time and will say “Actually, this car is much better”, cause only in real life you can see volume and proportion as they really are.
