In this clip, D.L. Hughley shared his thoughts on Michael Jordan and "The Last Dance" documentary, which D.L. said he's not sure Jordan's reputation will survive. He went on to explain why he thinks both Kobe and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are both better than Jordan, and D.L. stated that LeBron is the most principled athlete of the modern era. To hear more, including D.L.'s thoughts on Muhammad Ali being accepted by the world when he was sick and weak, hit the above clip.

If you take the totality of his career, he is the most accomplished basketball player ever by a country mile.

I would never put any person on a pedestal no matter what their talents are, but I can recognize their extraordinary contributions to the industry they represent. I saw up close and in person what MJ went through especially right after his father died. Truth. I remember in the early 2000s a story came out that Jordan was paying off a woman to keep quiet about their affair. He was paid her like $250K. Then she tried to extort him, demanding $5 million to keep the secret. Jordan came out instead and admitted to it. This was like 2002, so it was kind of mentioned then glossed over.
Another story, porn star Kylie Ireland said she had met Jordan at a hotel. She asked her boyfriend if she could do Jordan as he was obviously a huge celebrity and a once-in-a-lifetime hookup. The boyfriend (probably a porn star himself) said sure go ahead with it.
Plus many other stories that you would have only heard about if you read certain magazines you find in the grocery store, or stayed up for Entertainment tonight at 11:30pm. That's the way it was for all male celebrities, and that's why the older ones (like Cuba Gooding, Jr.) are catching cases. I can tell Hughley doesn’t know much about basketball at all. He’s trying to sound informative but he’s not fooling me smh. Also, MJ is a savvy guy. He’s always been intelligent and private. He was the most famous but also the most private that’s why the fans were excited to see behind the scenes stuff and also why it’s a big deal when he does make a statement or does an interview. The notion that if he played now he wouldn’t be able to adapt or any of the players from a generation ago would somehow falter under the lights of social media is laughable. I don’t thinks we’d see him making burner accounts and fussing with the fans like KD or showing his workouts to show how “dedicated “ he is. He’d still be the same but just move more cautiously. Kareem Abdul Jabbar's name was the only reason I knew about the man as a child. When the Fresh Prince mentioned Kareem, that name stuck in my head. It didn't have any negative connection. If anything, this was a Baller I could recognize just by his name. No one added: Air, Magic, Penny, The Mailman. All I knew was that he had been a very talented basketball player that had a name that sounded like an Aladdin character. To a kid, Abdul Jabbar was just as unique and foreign to me as Wilt

I grew up in Maryland with two progressive parents but my Grandparents were life long Southerners living in North Carolina since before the early 1900's. Needless to say when we visited there was a certain comfortability with the N-word in my Grandparents house. My Grandmother was a hard core Republican and thought Jessie Helms could walk on water. I remember when Harvey Gantt was running for office. I was visiting on leave from the military. I would ask my Grandmother if she was voting for Harvey....I can't repeat what she said but I would counter that we were in the privacy of her home and she could admit she was voting for Harvey and I wouldn't tell anyone and she would really flip out. My dad would ask me why I loved to wind her up so much. All I could say was I like using her racism against her and tormenting her in the process. I thought it was hilarious.

True. Prior to that point the best position was the center and forward positions due to having big 7'0 tall guys. Strange hearing this, but Jordan was considered undersized at 6'6... years later enter A.I., Steph who're pushing 6'0.
