Afghanistan has so much history & culture it’s lovely you are showing some to the world . The conservative nature of the land is due to centuries of invasions , which often included abducting & abuse of local women by foreign invaders. Even Alexander the Great couldn’t defeat the local resistance so married a local Afghan girl . If Afghanistan is left alone it will become one of the most successful nations .
I am a Pakistani Pashtun and I am very happy that you are showing such positive things about Afghanistan to the world. By adhering to these principles, Afghan communities strive to foster a cohesive social environment where respect and integrity are paramount, ensuring the continuity of their cultural heritage for generations to come.
I understand that view isn’t shared by all afghans though. It’s generally for one group within Afghanistan having now been and spoken to many people. It needs to be about choice and respect for multi-indigenous groups. Imagine if in the uk we only enforced one rule based on one group 🫣

These norms often stem from cultural beliefs regarding propriety and social order, where maintaining distinct spaces for men and women is seen as preserving traditions and upholding values of modesty and respect. In many cultures, such segregation is deeply ingrained and serves to delineate roles and behaviors deemed appropriate for each gender within specific social contexts. This historical context underscores the complexity of segregation, reflecting a blend of practical considerations and cultural significance that continues to influence contemporary social dynamics.

Most westerners see things in a very simplistic manner. They are often so insensitive and think of their cultural values to be superior.
While I loath the current regime in Afghanistan who are preventing women from getting education and are putting other restrictions on them, I can fully understand that separate spaces for families is not because men cannot control themselves. Even suggesting that idea is so offensive and full of prejudice. She is surrounded by men; so doesn't she ponder for a moment and ask herself why aren't those men losing control on seeing her and talking to her.

@AK-nj8gd tajiks have tajikistan, uzbeks have uzbekistan and hazaras have mongolia, they are always free to leave and practice their culture there if they dont like the pashtun culture which is afghan culture.

I went to Kandahar in 2022.There were not women in Kandahar city, Because the people of southern Afghanistan thought that (go out of women from home) is Illegal. The people of Kandahar are very good people,But this is their culture. You will see there only men and boys in Kandahar city,women are so little or there is not woman in a big city.You will think this big city is only for men.🇬🇧🇦🇫🤷♂️.

So costs vary.. if you travel as part of a group the costs are much better.. I believe you could do it for around $1500 in a group circa 10 days (rough estimate), I paid more because it’s just me and I also had 4 internal flights..you could get in touch with my guide who organises tours @ mohammadjanwafah on Facebook. Another company would be afghanistantours.travel also on Facebook. I recommend a guide personally because checkpoints etc are not easy to navigate.
