The Arbiter's Grounds and the Shadow Temple demonstrate that sealing a place up doesn't get rid of the evil inside... it only forces it to stew under pressure and evolve into something FAR worse...
Ganon's influence creeps into every crevice of the world. Corrupting anything that can give into the temptation of his evil. In Arbiters grounds we see it in the form of the various undead enemies in the dungeon. Things that in life were probably not evil or wicked, but in death they are vessels for him to fill with his malice and add to the ranks of his army of monsters and demons.
This is so true, games like Twilight Princess, Ocarina, and Majora’s Mask do a great job at making dungeons and enemies actually feel demonic, even when it comes to the impressionistic music throughout the dungeons like this
I loved this dungeon for its almost jarring shift in tone. The undead monsters have a really uncanny feel to them. There's just something a little extra disturbing about a walking skeleton when you can't figure out what it used to be in life. Plus, this dungeon has one of my favorite sub bosses of all time.
Death Sword is overly dramatic when you shoot him with an arrow and I absolutely love it. Stallord is my favorite boss and Arbiter's Grounds is one of my favorite dungeons in the game!
I feel you! In my case - along with the spirit temple from OoT - I feel like this is my favorite dungeon in the whole series. TP and OoT definitely had the best dungeons.
1:56 This part of the soundtrack is my favorite part. It's just so creepy hearing what sounds like some corrupted Egyptian song passed down through generations.
it's implied in hyrule historia a Genocide occurred in the Arbiter's ground. Hylian occupation after the Hyrule-Gerudo war (starting near immediately after the child timeline ending of Ocarina of Time) led to the execution of their king and extermination of almost all captured gerudo individuals from the war. survivors being those 2 clowns who shoot you into the dessert and repair the cannon, Telma from the Bar shares many phenotypical traits of the Gerudo. other Remnants are seen in Four-Sword Adventures think of this as marching into Auschwitz Concentration camp but abandoned after the world ends from climate change, world war (that could leave the belligerent nations wiped out) or Revelations, things get suddenly Darker. an unmodified room in the dungeon also lets in the fact that the Arbiter's Grounds was Built Over the Spirit Temple from Ocarina of time.

I played through this game about 4 times total as kid. I remember being 9 or 10 in the midst of those playthroughs and not playing the game for while just procrastinating playing through Arbiters Grounds because it scared me
I remember I started playing this game when I was 8 and made my older brother fight the Twilight Argoroks on the Hyrule Castle rooftops near the beginning of the game because they scared me way worse than any of the rest of the game.
It's basically like a cross between the shadow and spirit temples from OoT. You have the desert look and design but with the torture devices and dark theme from the shadow temple.
this dungeon frightened me as a kid. the master sword is now in hand and the ability to change to wolf form is at will. I always saw it the same way that folks see the Forest Temple in Ocarina. it's a haunting place to be and you want nothing more than to escape with your life but you push on in order to save what you're fighting for. a masterful execution
Arbiters grounds was definitely my favorite dungeon in TP. It is like a darker version of the spirit temple in OoT. And omg Stallord was so fun to fight the spinner was such a neat item.
I like the occassion bits of arabian style instruments strumming. Just Gerudo spirits telling you this is still their land, their souls were born and killed here and they will not be broken by the passing of time into forsaking their fallen temple.
Just imagining actually being in there and hearing those low guttural noises and distant moans of redead and poes makes me want to curl up into a ball and forget I exist
I'm mortally terrified of mummies and I knew there had to one in this place. It took all of my courage to press through this place, but little did I know that ReDead knights were waiting for me, and were a million times worse than any other mummy I could have imagined XD
This dungeon scared the shit out of me as a kid playing this 😭 the music alone gave me such an anxiety trip! It’s why when I finally beat this place it felt like escaping a nightmare 😱

the poes in this temple used to scare the shit out of me, they look like ordinary ghost from far away then the camera zooms in on their faces and not only is it a jump scare but they look like what a dementor would look like under its hood

The smaller skeletons remind me of Grey Aliens 👽; which makes it even creepier to me.
