❤Thanks everyone for the positive reception so far! ❤ If there's a (weird) deck you'd like to see in my next video (might not be lantern), leave a suggestion here!
One time I cribbed a Legacy Stax decklist from an MTGO player named Steveman. I was playing it at a local event that was streamed online. I thought organizers were asking my deck name, so I said "Steveman Stax". Later, I saw that they used "Steveman" as my player name on the stream, lol. Sadly, I lost that match. Enjoyed the Lantern content and the presentation. Thanks!
Ah yes, the wincon being boring them to death. God I love lantern control. EDIT: Your shitting on Urzatron has earned you a sub. I like your funny words, magic man!
This made me so nostalgic, I remember playing lantern years ago seeing white boarder ensnaring bridges used as god intended warms my heart. I assumed the deck was dead after Mox Opal ban and with how fast modern has become
i guess i should coment for the algo so i'll keave my thoughts. I thought iw was not going to like the heavily edited format i was expecting something like aspiring spike/youndingo that is the normal play with cut pauses but i really liked the video! I shared with everyone i know that likes mtg and i look forward to more content (please more lantern, i yearn for the suffering of others)
I think I found you off Twitter and this was some of the greatest MtG play I’ve ever seen. Bless you for this, subscribed with notifications on and sharing to my friends.
Genuinely great video. Feels like its hard to find people just casually enjoying magic with fun editing like this, you got something good here man keep it up.
Pithing Needle on Cranial Plating was clutch in game 5 as the opponent could have otherwise gotten around Ensnaring Bridge by instant-equipping the plating to an attacking ornithopter.
Just wanted to say great video! Though I wish you kept the screen zoomed out/uncropped so I can see the clock. Not sure why but it just felt off without watching the clock while seeing a lantern control video. Over all pretty solid play. Truly the heart of the cards was with you. Keep up the great work!
100%, thanks for feedback. I didn’t originally intend on making a video from this actually, so the footage itself was kinda cooked from the start sadly 😅
So glad seeing lantern back in action, I vaguely recall playing against you at bearded dragon years ago when you played this deck and it was one of the only times I had fun playing into lantern
❤Thanks everyone for the positive reception so far! ❤

Eldazi and Taxes otherwise known as "Squiggly Control"
Devoted Druid combo has seen better days. Bring it back!
Eldrazi and Taxes pls
@@Stillsteveman been looking at 2015 modern with some friends, if mox opal wasnt $$$ id build it in paper
@@Stillsteveman you make me wanna build this deck even though I don't play modern.
"They Thoughtseize me in order to lose 2 and look at my lands." is maybe one of the most control sentences ever.
To be fair, they should have known thought seize would be blank since lantern let him draw it.
that "missed their second land drop" was great :) truly courageous game that one
The editing was top notch! Hope you can feed us mre lantern videos!
Thanks! We'll see if it's this or something different next. Itching to play Battle of Wits
Yeah I died at the OSRS damage sounds and your narration. Earned a sub, excited to see more!@@Stillsteveman

This whole video is very entertaining especially considering it’s lantern control but the editing in match four is the cherry on top.
'Beloved' is a strong word, but its good to see someone hateful enough to attemptt an update of this deck
i am going to buy this deck surely it will be good forever
Me when I first saw Elsik playing it
I'm going to hear "They missed their second land drop" play in my head when I'm testing my lists now. Thanks!
DAMN! LANTERN?!? IN 2024?!? Superb gameplay and top notch debauchery.

Surgical yourself to shuffle the madlad
Very clean editing. Love Lantern and missed seeing this deck about, glad to see it again!
Normally I dobt like to watch magic online but the editor clutched this one
It's me, I'm the editor! Glad to clutch this one up 🤝
The runescape goblin death sound was fantastic XD
Love the edit! Setting the bar high for mtg content. Looking forward to the next one!

glad to see that "unplayable decks" are still alive and kicking, love it!
Wippity Woppity this decklist is now my property
love this video format, was bummed to see you dont have more. keep it up
Working on that! Not sure on the exact timeline, but I guess within a month
Tight gameplay, entertaining deck, and awesome humour ahahah
That's a guaranteed new sub :D

Brilliant video, really well edited! And a subject that is close to my heart 😂
This video fills a HarryMTG shaped hole in my heart... Look forward to seeing more!
great pacing on the edit! Lantern is my favorite deck ever! Although I don't play it 24/7, I could watch it 24/7.
The edition is perfect and the commentary is fucking hillarious, keep it up!
Genuinely great video. Feels like its hard to find people just casually enjoying magic with fun editing like this, you got something good here man keep it up.
Thank you! I wasn't sure what tone to hit as I knew competitive Magic players like analysis, so I'll probably lean more into the edit next time!
Sick deck, good skills, fantastic edits, looking forward to seeing you in my feed
thanks for the vid! im going to run main board surgical in every deck now! surely this cannot go wrong
This channel is amazing! No videos but I can’t wait to watch more of yours. This is what I needed today thank you
You know it’s a good video when half way through you are already thinking abt picking up the list
The hero we needed
This was really good stuff, looking forward to more!
This was a masterpeice. You have gained a new subscriber.
We need more lantern vids from this legend
Disgusting I love it. Great narration and speed of video.
Love the updateedlantern deck, as I am an evil bastard, and I'm impressed your second video is this well made. Subbed, looking forward to more.
Great video, absolutely shocked it's your second one. Need more immediately
the part where you got natural tron against the tron player was peak kino ngl
Crying at summoning ensnaring bridge with the heart of the cards
I'm so happy to see my favorite modern deck of all time getting played in 2024! Thanks for the video
as a former lantern connoisseur this gives me hope for the future.
This was awesome. Insightful and Highlarious video Steve. Keep it up gamer!!!!
Pithing Needle on Cranial Plating was clutch in game 5 as the opponent could have otherwise gotten around Ensnaring Bridge by instant-equipping the plating to an attacking ornithopter.
Very good video by the true hero of the card game Magic The Gathering, nay, the world
editing and comedy is peak this earned my sub
Love this deck and I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay and the edits, good job
Love the full gameplay footage!
I personally prefer no spoilers in the title, but that may be personal preference
Saying you've gone undefeated leads to more clicks unfortunately. Can't really blame the guy for playing the algorithm game.
This was so fun to watch. I might have to build this. I love making my opponents suffer lol
You got really nice/calm commentating. Great video
Extremely well edited matches
Lantern lovers for life. Good plays, nice surgical on thoughtseize to shuffle!
MOAR! That was epic dude. Your editing and narration was top notch. I would love to see more magic in your style.
This is a sweet video! You're super entertaining, and a great pilot for the deck 🔥🔥
first time watching your channel, great video. loved the snappy editing while keeping all the interesting gameplay details and thought process.
Bro, keep it up you’re editing is fantastic
the editing and delivery of this viddeo really tickles my adhd brain
9:20 the RuneScape hitsplat LMAO
I used to love playing affinity vs Lantern back when Opal was legal was always a rush.
I have come here from the year 1993 to ask for more Lantern of Insight content.
oh my God lantern control is back. this is the most significant piece of news in the last 48 hours for sure!!!
Great vid. Had a few laughs during it too. This is the hero modern needs.
as a natural tron hater i have enjoyed round 4 so much that it earned a subsciption XD
best regards
Unbelievable magic right here. Marshall Sutcliffe would go crazy for plays half as skillfull as these ones
Most beloved deck is debateable.
Love you man to look into lantern again... a long time lantern player. cheers!
Gosh, what an entertaining vid :) ty for playing lantern, and talking over it all, also good games
First time watching one of your videos, 10/10 subscribing right now. If you make 8rack work, I'm sharing your channel to every Magic player I know
Great editing. Love lantern.
My pet deck making a comeback? Top notch script, editing and jokes? You got yourself a like, a comment and a subscriber
LANTERN FOREVER
Really well put together
Always glad to see old decks being played in the modern again
Outstanding run!!! Play malevolent rumbles over baubles 😊
Just found your channel. Great video commenting for the algorithm. Keep up the good editing and humor.
Complimentary engagement
I loooove this lantern video and wish it were 10x as many matches.
Best magic video I have seen in a long time! That surgical on your own thoughtseize was sickkkk
Match one opponent could have fizzled your surgical by jumping their frog.
Yep! They still can't get a second frog into play this way, which I'd be 100% ok with too!
Lanterns back BAYBEE!
This was a good video. Subscribed to see more of these fire memes.
Absolute legend
Man I wish we could insert our lord and savior Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas in here.
To be honest this is pretty legendary piloting of an incredibly complex deck. (except for the basic swamp hiccup.)
Such a good video omg, you are the Hero ⭐️
This is some of the best gameplay/commentary/editing I've ever seen AND we're playing BG Lantern?? Instant sub
I love lantern so much. I get why people hate it, but it just feels so good to win off of a bunch of random cards that turn into a perfect prison.
What a great video! I really don’t think you should have spoiled the results in the title tough.
He did it for Billy
WOOO I LOVE LANTERN THIS IS REAL MAGIC BABY
Great video
masterful
Karn, the Lantern Destroyer... This is canon now! :D
You managed to make lantern content fun! Thank for the video I really hope there are more.
First time seeing your channel and this vid was really fun! Good voiceover and editing!
So glad seeing lantern back in action, I vaguely recall playing against you at bearded dragon years ago when you played this deck and it was one of the only times I had fun playing into lantern
The world is healing.
Hell yeah, love lantern content
Just an fyi there is an entire channel deicated to this deck. Its Lantern Insights I believe.
