  • December unfortunately showed me very quickly how many little issues the Mk2 has developed over the small amount of ownership I've had...

Strut failed and mag ride always fails. Windshield needs to resealed. Check front drain plugs. Rear spolier seals are leaking and needs to be resealed. Check spoiler drains. Check drive shaft bushings. Five Ugga Dugga torque spec.

That is why i took off my springs, much prefer the standard. But i did replace all struts when i first bought the car, but just had enough with the springs could not hack it. My 3" downpipe also vibrates sometimes when slowing down. That is to do with little space in the tunnel. Also had my rear wheel rub when i put spacers on with my H&R springs...took the spacers off all fine. Make sure you have the correct ET on the rear. If it is not correct it could make the wheels come out too far from the hub. Rear spoiler drains could be blocked.

I had the same issue water in the boot around the battery. It was coming in via the petrol cap outer seal. It runs down in between the second body skin and down the wheel arch and in from a body seam behind the fuse box next to the battery.

Damn man, that's a wave of issues. For the rear rubbing, there is a plastic tab that is part of the clip for the rear bumper that you have to file down. As me how I know :D

Mine is rubbing on the metal it seems where the bumper attaches to the quarter panel 🫣

I recently got a TT Mk2 2012 and its caused me soo many issues. one of them being the leak in the boot. After loads of diagnostics, the leak came from the seal in the rear windshield. take the trim off the boot/trunk door and do a water test. With mine, someone has replaced a broken windscreen and done a shocking job of sealing it. Every time it rained, water would subtly go in and run down the inner plastic section of the boot and into the battery tray, which in turn messed up the battery negative terminal. Give me a shout if you want more details!

Yeah I’m at a loss far with this damn car specifically on the leak, I had my front windshield re sealed which fixed the front leak issue but the rear one is getting so bad it’s now pooling under my rear seats near the fuel pump access panels 🫠 gonna pull the whole rear trim out and tape some paper towels around all the seals and let it sit in the rain and see if it leaks anywhere. Thinking it might actually be the pump access panel might not be fully sealed anymore and negative pressure while driving in the rain is sucking water in and then parking on a hill forces it to run into the trunk…

@@ThatGuyTyy I had the same thing, back seats got soaked as the water from the boot would move forward into the back seats and sit there. was orrible. If there is as much water there as you say, and the same location, i reckon it's the rear windshield leak, not any negative pressure while driving. You can imagine in England it was a daily problem for me!

Have you checked spoiler drain holes? There's 2 that get blocked. I use long zip ties and push through to make sure they're all clear. That was my problem and it filled up so much it fried my amp and went over into my rear seats

Holy cow…. I mean I go wash the car down once a week to keep the road brine off the paint and it seems to drain out beside my license plate pretty well, but maybe I will give this a go and report back - thanks for the tip

@@ThatGuyTyy Werent you saying you were going to get a new daily? I mustve heard wrong then. Good to know youre keeping it. As for a daily i'd recommend a E90 335D. You should look into them. Or any V6 TDI tbh.

@MOTO-pr3vq adding a daily yes, and turning this into a track car
