Roscrea locals explain asylum protests outside hotel

  • Protests continue to take place outside the Racket Hall Hotel in Roscrea, Co Tipperary after the hotel was selected to house 160 international protection applications.
We have a full video on JOE’s TH-cam channel, speaking with Roscrea locals.
Up to 17 asylum seekers, understood to be women and children, were moved into Racket Hall Hotel this week.
Protestors clashed with Gardai as the asylum seekers were brought into the hotel, with one arrest made.
Protestors say they plan to continue opposing the housing of the international protection applicants in Roscrea, and that the asylum seekers housed in the hotel should be moved to another town.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says he understands the frustrations of the residents of Roscrea, and said that ministers will look at how they can help support the 10 districts in Ireland that have housed the highest proportion of Ukrainian refugees and international protection applicants.

@@skavihekkora5039 Thanks for posting about migrants denied for accommodation in Ballsbridge, Dublin. This case needs to be summarised, with facts, on a VERY LARGE banner and carried around the country. Most Irish won't have heard about this legal action - it would've been under-reported for obvious reasons. Some of RTE's executives and key on-air personnel probably live there too. It's okay to report stridently on other communities being NIMBY though 😡!! #IrelandIsFull

These people are from a different culture and don't integrate easily into western society. Shame on the politicians for inflicting this on these poor people. • @comealongcomealong4480
      @comealongcomealong4480 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@batcollins3714 It's not just a simple statement about population numbers. It's examining the characteristics of the one million recent migrants to Ireland set against the past national averages, and government statistical assumptions.
The eight million Irish, then majority European, had population averages for work ethic, adherence to social contracts, how peaceful and law abiding they were and population-wide health. So Ireland had eight million people who fell within the average demographics of native Irish.
      Your words "Feed and House".
➡ MORE Irish in the previous population farmed and produced food for the country, than recent migrant groups. More of those previous Irish built housing AND national infrastructure used by all, than recent migrant groups. Such as Roads, Bridges, Hospitals, Schools, Public Buildings, Ports etc ⬅
Thus, the costs of providing for their needs as a whole were balanced by their productivity, business creation and innovation, and tax gathered. That means, they were mostly working and contributing, including women working and contributing. Mostly paying correct taxes. NOT siphoning cash out of the country (to send home to Romania, Algeria, Pakistan, Egypt, Somalia etc). Producing children in anticipated numbers, not the much higher birthrates in migrant groups. (Especially African, ME, P'stani.) Population Health, Injury and Disability were all on a trajectory of gradual improvement. Unlike the recent groups of migrant arrivals. Native Irish committed crimes in average ranges, with jail capacity adequate for those numbers. Versus migrant groups in Ireland over the last twenty years. Who are statistically committing crimes out of proportion to their population size. Additionally, they have introduced types of crime from their home cultures rarely or never previously seen in Ireland.
I hope some of these considerations open up the debate about what is best for Ireland going forward. The Irish people have inalienable Human Rights as an ethnic group, and a right to Self-determination in their own land.

I think we in the North of Ireland should be coming together to make our voices heard. We cannot get houses, playgroup or nursery school places and our services are being put under so much more pressure. We need to stand together like the South, put the Catholic/Protestant issue on the back burner for a while, a United or non united Ireland is the least of our worries at the moment.

@@GR-su3xc I'm protestant lol and the biggest majority of us feel the same. There's great support for everything that's going on in Palestine and Muslim immigrants coming into the country around some of the border towns. Some, goodness how do I put this, some hard-line republicans compare the British here with the issues Muslims are having. We're in the South on a regular basis and that's where the majority of our dearest friends are and there doesn't seem to be the same support for Muslims and Palestine on that side of the border, whereas here there are protests with Muslims and wristbands etc being worn by citizens here. Heading to Mayo in a few days, the first trip down this year, can't wait, love it. Not all us prods are politically bitter you know lol. Best wishes to you from the North coast.

COMPLIANCE IS FUTILE WHEN THOSE WHO DESPISE YOU DECIDE IF IT'S ENOUGH .
Those facilitating these invasions , will never admit their SELF HATRED .
PEOPLE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO ASK PERMISSION TO SPEAK THE TRUTH .

This is happening everywhere and the government doesn’t give one iota. They don’t speak English or integrate, just look at most large cities in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland they group up in their own communities, you can’t walk through these areas. It makes people feel unsafe in their own country.

I saw this all play out in England 30 /40 years ago, never thought it would follow me here, just shows how naive we all are.
Politicians smell the same from wherever they're from.

Name one government or person in a position of power that gave an Aylesbury duck about about anyone but themselves. The world has always been run by a set of C£$TS, but these days it's even worse.

I would not be surprised to see a paramilitary response from the people of Ireland if their concerns continue to be ignored by the government.
