Hi, yes I think you’re right about the food and the place - we would love to go to the Philippines ourselves and experience it first hand 🇵🇭 I hope you get to go there too ❤️ Thanks for watching and taking the time to send us your comment ❤️ best wishes from us both ❤️❤️
Since you tasted filipino foods and you like it, it's time to both of you visit the Islands. I swear they have 7 ,800 paradise Islands you will enjoy!!
Filipino food has strong flavours of a mix of sweet and/or salty, so rice balances everything out. Always have rice. Some foreigners have the mistake of judging the food of saying it's too salty or too sweet - but it's meant to be that way, because it has to go with rice. ALWAYS. Glad you folks enjoyed the food. I am hungry now!!!!
@@TracyandColinTheFoodies You're welcome! I really enjoyed watching! One more factor for why rice is important to Filipinos... is that most families don't have the luxury of having various dishes in one meal. So the rice becomes an essential part of the meal because it makes you full while you have one dish which is pact with flavors to enjoy. Until now, even when families have become well-off, that part of the food culture stuck - strong flavors and rice, regardless of how many dishes you have. Hehe just wanted to share that. 😁
Thank you for sharing this with us 🙏🏻❤️ It’s really interesting to us to learn about other cultures ❤️ I love rice and could eat it everyday so I’ll fit in just fine in the Philippines 🇵🇭 😂😂😂 Thank you for taking the time to send us your fab comment - it means a lot to us both ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi folks. This looked fab and quite unusual, clean place, good food and you seemed (judging by the score!) to really enjoy the experience. Thanks for this interesting review. Best. Johnny.
Hi Johnny, yes it was a lovely little restaurant and the food was really delicious, fresh & tasty, the owners were very helpful ,friendly staff and welcoming ❤️ thanks for watching ❤️👍🏻
That was a nice change for you both and it looked absolutely amazing , couldn’t fault anything you ordered. What a lovely restaurant and the owners seemed very friendly. That was definitely worth a 10 . Great review thank you 🙏🏼❤️💙🤩👏

Appetizers were Adobong Talong (Eggplant cooked in Soy and Vinegar) and Lumpiang Shanghai or Meat Springrolls. Main dish in the Clay pot was Beef Sinigang (the claypot maintains heat better) - Beef with vegetables in Taramind soup (sour dish), Chicken curry filipino style (meaning it uses coconut milk with curry mix), and Beef Steak tagalog (beef tenderized in soy sauce and slight vinegar). Three really contrasting main dishes though. That was a fully loaded halo-halo desert (meaning "mix") - you need to mix the whole desert. Ube Ice Cream (Ube - Purple Yam), Leche Flan (or Flan) the idea of halo-halo is to try to get as much of the mix of the contents in each bite. Looks like you really enjoyed that. Kudos!
Hi Mack, we really did enjoy each dish 😋😋 The flavours are all amazing and the Halo Halo is just what you need at the end of a beautiful meal ❤️❤️ Thank you for watching ❤️👍🏻🙏🏻

Hi, 👋🏻 thank you 🙏🏻 for watching were so glad you enjoy our videos ❤️ Mmm the beef steak was really delicious 😋 Arr I bet you miss your beautiful country ❤️❤️ take care , have a good week 👍🏻❤️🙏🏻
The soup is called sinigang, its a sour soup and there are various version of that depending on the meat being used or the soup base being used, mostlly it's tamarind based but there are various versions where the chef uses other sour fruits like star fruit, santol or guava. Glad you like our food.
Hi Kaeone, ah yes … so many names to remember we get a bit lost 😞 😂 Everything we have tried we have enjoyed very much 😋😋 Thank you for watching & sending us your comment ❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Geraldine, oh this food is amazing .. the beef steak was delicious & so was the halo halo … thank you for watching ❤️ it’s lovely to hear from you ❤️👍🏻
The eggplant (talong) dish actually looks more like a sauteed kind. Usual Tortang Talong is an omelet eaten with ketchup preferably banana (yes,, banana) ketchup. The claypot is called "Palayok" --anything cooked on it just taste a lot more delicious. Nowadays it's just used for serving -keep the food warmer till it's served.
Hi T&C! Your video popped up in my yt so first time watching you guys. Wow, thanks for giving Filipino food a 10!.. Sinigang (the one in the clay pot) is a sour stew and can be made with pork, shrimp or even salmon. It was also voted Best Soup in the World by Taste Atlas in 2021... Hope you can also try Sisig next time which the late Anthony Bourdain raved about when he came here for his 'No Reservations' show. And i hope you guys can also visit our country and enjoy our world-class beaches in Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao - islands that are always listed as the best in the world by prestigious travel magazines. Cheers! 😍

the dish after the tortang talong is the Sinigang n baboy, it is a sour soup dish. and it makes my mouth watering when you focus the dish in your video.. 😋😋😋
The tortang talong ..looks like the one we sauce it with bagoong not the one like eggplant with with egg and fried. Yes beef steak is one of my favorite filipino food and seems most vloggers are missing out of it. They use real kalamansi instead of lemon in any restaurant cuz the tangy is just different than the lemon. I think filipino restaurant should start using bowl next time for halo halo because you have to eat the top part before you can mix it or it will fall. All of it must be mix before eaten. Thank you sir and mam 🙏 ❤ love.your video and also wow..thats a lot of orders I couldn't possibly finish it even if I have partner.
Hi there, thank you for watching & sending us your comment - we loved the food , the beef steak was very enjoyable 😋 - and the aubergine was so tasty - we’ve never tried it like that before 🤔 The Halo Halo was delicious 😋 😋 & that’s a very good idea putting it in a bowl so it can be mixed easier ❤️👍🏻🙏
it's so nice to see you try Filipino foods. you put the 'ulam' (main dishes) on your plates around the rice just like true Filipinos. the soup you had looks like sinigang (a sour tamarind based soup). you can put that over the rice too.
Glad you liked the Filipino food. European and American people usually find Filipino ( and other South East Asian ) food, a little spicy. Historically, it was was in 1521 when Magellan landed in PH on his way to the Malacas or the ‘ spice islands ‘, ( spices being expensive in Europe at that time ). So, before the 1500’s, European food and later American food had little if any spices on their food. While for a long time South East Asians have been mixing their food with all kinds of spices. Also, Filipinos ( and other Asians ) have been eating rice together with their other foods which lessen the saltiness or spiciness of their staples. At any rate, enjoy whatever food you’ve learned you love.
Wow thank you 🙏 so much for the detailed comment - that’s really interesting to learn ❤️ I love the history behind the foods & spices it’s good to taste different foods that are full of flavours 👍🏻 thank you for taking the time to send us your comment ❤️👍🏻
Hello mam and sir.. if i am near you I would love to show you how to eat those dishes the Filipino way.. we place the plate with rice in front of us and we pour the food into the rice little by little... But i am so entertained watching you try each of them... thank you so much for trying and appreciating our food. We still have a lot for you to try out...

Hi, thank you for your lovely comment ❤️ Yes we did like the pictures and we most definitely will visit the Philippines as soon as we are able 😍😍 Wow 🤩 that’s very reasonable ❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻
Talong - eggplant(aubergines) is o e the favorite vegetables here in the Philippines. Its cooked alone as torta(omelet), adobo(stir fried with soy sauce garlic and vinegar) or ensalada(salad in vinagrete). It almost present in our many vegetable preparations.

Thanks for watching ❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻
My mouth is watering watching you two eat sinigang. I can just imagine the sourness of it and it’s making me dribble 😂😂
Hi Charlize & Lucas, it was delicious 😋 so flavoursome 😋 many thanks for watching 🙏❤️👍🏻
Hi there, thank you for watching & sending us your comment - we loved the food , the beef steak was very enjoyable 😋 - and the aubergine was so tasty - we’ve never tried it like that before 🤔
The Halo Halo was delicious 😋 😋 & that’s a very good idea putting it in a bowl so it can be mixed easier ❤️👍🏻🙏
Really enjoyed watching this! Fan from the Philippines :)
Hi Theo, many thanks for watching ❤️👍🏻
It’s so fun watching you guys eating halo halo. ❤️ Sinigang is def my favorite 💯
Haha 😂… thank you we really enjoyed it ❤️👍🏻
it's so nice to see you try Filipino foods. you put the 'ulam' (main dishes) on your plates around the rice just like true Filipinos. the soup you had looks like sinigang (a sour tamarind based soup). you can put that over the rice too.
Hi 👋🏻 thank you 🙏 very much.. we do enjoy learning about other countries foods and this food is definitely one of our favourites ❤️👍🏻🙏
Wow thank you 🙏 so much for the detailed comment - that’s really interesting to learn ❤️
