      Hi there! Thanks for watching and so glad you’re enjoying my videos. 😊 A creative supervisor establishes the creative vision for the production in order to deliver a visually impactful story. Hope that helps!

    I was wondering if I want to be a filmmaker and my boyfriend is a rapper and knows nothing about Filmmaking can I hire him to be my director and train him how to direct a film work with actors since I read books on Filmmaking, film producing, and was an actor in a low budget movie and I will be going to film school film, director workshops, and acting school. Is it possible if I can have him take over to be the film producer and film director if I have to leave on maternity leave?

      @Film_It_Yourself  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there Star! I’d be concerned about having someone direct who knows nothing about filmmaking. The director really should know all aspects of filmmaking including acting. Really depends on the shoot though. I’m assuming this is a short film so the stakes are low, but it sounds like you’re the one passionate about filmmaking. I’d never leave my film shoot to someone else who isn’t equally as passionate. I’d recommend looking at Facebook film groups in your area and partnering with someone there instead.

      @@Film_It_Yourself Thanks love. I think looking for someone who has experience and went to school for film directing would be a good idea hiring because I think my boyfriend is better working in the music industry than the film industry. His gift is with music being a rapper and my gift is making movies, writing Screenplays, and film directing. I'm very passionate about working in the film/Tv entertainment industry. I ❤️ movies.

    What is the most fun job in the film industry? What is the best paid? What is the least paid? What is the highest in demand? Thanks! :)

    • @Film_It_Yourself
      @Film_It_Yourself  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello there! Great questions! I think the first is subjective though. I personally think directing is the most fun but that’s because I love it. It really depends on what you love to do. Best paid is also hard to answer because it really depends on if we’re talking indie filmmaking or big budget studio filmmaking. In the indie world, the director and producer are usually trying to get their own passion project out there, which means they might be paying for everything out of pocket. While in the studio world everyone “above the line” (so directors, producers, leading actors, ect) will be paid the most. Least paid would be everyone below the line but it’s hard to say which job is the least paid overall. Probably PAs would be my guess. Highest on demand is tricky to answer as well but I think editors are always in demand and a good way to get your foot in the door for post production. Also PAs are always in demand and needed and a great way to get your foot in the door when it comes to production work.

      @@Film_It_Yourself Thank you so much for your detailed and organized answer. You should have so many more subscribers than you currently do. I'm going to pass the word out to anyone interested in this field about your channel. I've seen PA's at work and man, do they work hard. I have read ads for PA's and they make hardly anything. I always wondered about trades like makeup (I guess it depends on the level you are doing it - like special effects make up and prosthetics vs. some eyeliner and rouge). But then I wondered about specialty people like carpenters, electricians....maybe even plumbers working on sets.). Then I see in credits all the people in charge of visual effects. That's got to be big money, and they don't even go on set.

      @@squirrelattackspidy no prob! Yeah PAs don’t get paid well and work crazy hours! Makeup people probably get paid pretty well but can have early call times, especially special effects makeup. Post people can make a lot of money but the trade off is their work tends to take the most time. Hope that helps! And thanks for the kind words!

    How can I find a producer

    • @Film_It_Yourself
      @Film_It_Yourself  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! There’s lots of places you could find a producer. Going to film festivals would be a good start. Also checking out online communities on social media is great. Facebook has a lot of groups. Joining a group such as Women In Film or Blackmagic Collective could also help. Just general networking is pretty much the way to go. Watch people’s films and if there’s a producer you like reach out to them via IMDb Pro.

    Hey! I know all this is about film. I'm a sophomore in high school and f aspire to be a tv producer. What does a tv producer do? For example, Tina Fey, and Mindy Kaling, are they on the very technical side or creative side? I literally have no idea what they *actually* do in a day?

    • @Film_It_Yourself
      @Film_It_Yourself  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! So while those two fabulous ladies have produced TV shows, I’d say what they are more known for is being Show Runners. A Show Runner is basically the person who runs the whole TV show. So in film the director has the final say but in TV the show runner has the final say. They guide the ship and make sure the tone and overall story of the TV show season stays consistent and on track. Often they run the writer’s rooms and write an episode or two themselves. They can also often be the creators of the show, but that’s not always the case. But to better answer your question, a TV producer would be the more technical side of things, while the show runner would be more the creative side of things. Hope that helps!
