Actually the MGM studio as it had been known and bankrolled since the 1930s did close in 1957. Chuck along with Les Goldman set up Tower 12 Productions which was responsible for Jones' creative output in the period from 1963 to about the early seventies as an independent producer for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
This was a great video. But I wanna point out that the shorts Fish Tales and Porky’s Pet weren’t directed by Friz Freleng, they were directed by Jack King. It was during King’s 3 year tenure at Warners. King was a director for 2 years before he returned to Disney in 1936
@@DizographiesTashlin took over Friz's unit in 1937 when he left for MGM (he would return 2 years later, taking over the Ben Hardaway-Cal Dalton unit. A young Rod Scribner had by that time been transferred from that unit over to Chuck's). Then, as you mentioned before, he left after a few months, and Jones filled the vacancy. Tashlin was long gone from Schlesinger's by 1939.
Correction about the thumbnail:
The picture of Bugs in the thumbnail is drawn by Ben Washam
Thanks
@@DizographiesYeah, Harris does the scene right before that where Daffy demands, "Who is responsible for this?!"
Harris, Jones, Avery, Freling = Absolute Legends and RIP to all of them.
And, the MGM animation studio in the 60s didn’t shut down cause Chuck and his team made the Grinch at MGM and it didn’t shut down until 1970
Right
Plus there was the live action and animated The Phantom Tollbooth adaptation starring child star Butch Patrick
It didn’t do well at the time at its initial release

@@irischukwuma7115 Nope, that's Harris.
This might've been okay if not for the painful and irritating attempts at humour.
