We still have so much to unpack with Tenna. Some people are constructing entirely new theories around the new info, others are just name swapping and calling it a day. Overall I think this is a good development for keeping theories fresh, and even if your sceptical of Tenna, This is now 100% proof that Mike exists in some form in chapter 3.
Also I know the Spamton value network isn’t canon, and nothing within it should be used for genuine theorising. It’s very clear Wayneradiotv got a lot of freedom with what he could do… But the placement of the “Kill your TV” bit feels very deliberate.
spamton a spamton is probably a worshiper of a fictional character and made all the fake brodcast because of that (in canon)
I'm pretty sure Toby did tell Wayne to add certain things to the spamton value network. Namely, trouble dingle and the kill your tv joke. 90% of the weird shit in the spamton value network is probably coming from the head of scorpy though XD.

I love how Spamton says "[[Don't believe anything you see on TV!]]" and we assumed that the smile on the tv was Mike (later known to be Tenna)...
Maybe Tenna is the main antagonist and Mike is a secret boss from other chapters (or maybe it's Gaster calling himself Mike when he was talking to Spamton)

I think Tenna is short for Antenna as in, all of the white noise is caused by the antenna being out of line.
Yo that's a pretty good idea on who this Tenna might be. Maybe they were "out of line" with Spamton and Mike, which led them to become an outcast.

honestly Tenna fits way better with how like the other "secret bosses" and other "darkeners" actually fit with what they're based off of, like "Jevil" being a play of [[ Devil ]] and [[ Jester ]] and "Spamton" quite litterally refering to a [[ Spammer ]]. So "Tenna" being the actual name fits with the Tv aspect of the [[ TV Antenna ]]

You know... This whole thing kinda is a parallel to what seems to have happened to canon Mike when you think about it... The fans ran crazy with concepts for what he could be. He was the most popular Fandom OC but the moment Tenna gets introduced as the actual Canon TV-character all that just ends.... He got his popularity usurped by Tenna and now he's stuck as a what-if. The main universe functions perfectly without him as if he doesn't exist.......

When asked about friends he mentioned mike in a very emotional manner and when pressed further he said "Don't trust what you see on tv! the man's a criminal!" and then chapter 2 ends with an evil smile on a tv (which is apparently named "friend" in the files, creating another connection to when Spamton freaked out when asked about "friends"). Add to that Jevil mentioning Queen and the next chapter shows QUEEN as the main antagonist of chapter 2, and yeah there was som evidence it wasn't pulled from nowhere.

The thing is? In a sense, this could actually be completely true. That figure everyone says is Gaster is never actually referred to as Gaster anywhere in the code, but as "mysteryman".

If our perception of Gaster lore is off/wrong in a major way, that would be catastrophic. Mike only existed for a year and the theory was destined to end when chapter 3 comes out. But Gaster has 7 years of Fannon stacked up like a house of cards that can fall whenever Toby feels like it.
I would be crying laughing if this actually happened. I do doubt we will ever actually see Gaster in deltarune but its funny to imagine years of fanon getting destroyed
I feel this huge amount of joy knowing fanon Mike was wrong, and they have to start from square 1 with Tenna content. I get it, Toby Fox's properties are always gonna have AU's made of them, but God it feels good that Toby went 'ur wrong by the way lol'. Toby's gonna make a more interesting game than the fandom's guesses, so it's nice to see his plot points aren't super predictable
I also like that he outright confirms specific stuff so people stop making theories about it. I bet it's him learning from his experience with undertale, so this time he's clearing up the things that don't matter so people focus on the actually important stuff

Mike must have been Spam's mentor that he felt dependent on for a long time, which is why he hesitated after he told Kris he didn't need him anymore. If Mike was giving Spam the go-ahead for his business decisions (whether it was through Mike's permission or approval or just moral support), having him out of the picture suddenly would leave Spam out on a lurch. Spam must believe that Tenna is responsible for whatever happened to Mike.
Spam could have even been talking bad about Mike so he could have him and his wisdom all to himself 🤷

I gotta say tenna is pretty clever as you can only use a tv an”tenna” to help you find tv channels but sometimes it can read channels and static is something that happens when the antenna can’t get a transmission signal or something like that.
Honestly, I think it's cool that fans have their own chapter 2 and Toby has his own canon chapter 2. There could be like an AU where it's just all of the fan-made chapters or something.

He may have thought the Queen was going to cause the roaring, but what does he know, he has been trapped for god knows how long inside that cell

Mike is us. Spamton's greatest wish is to escape the confines of Deltarune and become a real person. He's already managed to communicate with our world, as seen by his hiring human actors to perform in his Sweepstakes. It makes sense that he'd come to regard the player as a personal friend, being his first and greatest connection to Heaven. We probably met during the events of Undertale, and now that we have a new avatar he simply doesn't recognize us.

My theory after figuring out Tenna exists was that Mike was still the Tv but Tenna is mind controlling him into being something he wasn't supposed to be. Misguiding him if you would. Though this scares me for what Mike actually is, I'm remaining neutral on this situation. Either if he is or is not the Tv.

Fan art creators: Take this as a lesson on jumping the gun. If a character hasn't been properly introduced don't go jumping to conclusions about their role in the original sauce!

For until I'm inevitably proven very wrong I'm going to headcanon Mike and Tenna as brothers. First reason being I only just finally got around to finalizing my design for the character we now now is named Tenna and I refuse to change the pink and yellow eyes so now they both have them. Secondly, Mike Rook is just too cool of a name to pass up. It even kind of makes sense in regards to chess theory, there's two rooks on each side of the board, right? I'm probably just reaching.
But until chapter three comes out, my new backstory is that Mike is a karaoke machine made by the same company as Tenna, then Asgore got him in the divorce and had to pawn him off to Mettablook.
I knew from the start that the next villain wasn't gonna be named Mike.

theory: Tenna is clearly meant to be the TV, and based on an antenna, i mean, it IS like, an-TENNA, so, antennas many times get out of line causing static, And Mike can mean many stuff, like MIKE-rowave, MIKE-rophone, MIKE-rook™, or even the M™ in TM™ so, what if Mike is a old antigue from Toriel? Like a RADIO, and Tenna, being an anTenna, got out of line thus being an outcast and got a shadow crystal, and Mike, possibly being a Radio star himself, was the original ruler, and tenna, the TV, overthrew mike, so Tenna is still an outcast, out of line, like a *gangster* and Mike, being forgotten, Tried his best to remain sane, and mike determined, persevered and stole Tenna's shadow crystal, to try to get his power, thus making both Tenna and Mike insane, that or i have just eated too many shadow crystals.

I think I agree with you on that, the cathode crew probably isn’t a real thing and Spamton is just calling out people who follow Mike/tenna (and I probably should’ve worded my text differently) But at the same time, we don’t really know anything. We’re back to ground zero theory wise. If someone wants to make the cathode crew into a actual thing for a AU/theory they can.

I was right, Mike ISNT the TV guy. Everyone jumped to conclusions and now theyre disappointed that they invested time and effort into something that doesnt have enough info to be correct. It did spawn some cool ideas at the time though lol

I still think Mike is the TV head, I don't see why a tv man would be named after their antenna, that's like if a man was named after his ears. Tenna is might be part of mike, a part with a mind of its own. Who turned him into the criminal he is today.

another thing, which this "tenna is the bad guy actually" thing has a lot of merit personally rhe tmfirst thing i thought of when i read these was that spamton is damning two people and is yelling at that question because noone truly knows what mike mightve dine to make spamton feel the way he feels

The thing is, there was logic behind it. Jevil told Kris about the Queen, and Mike was the only character Spamton mentioned that we don't know, so since Jevil - a secret boss - talked about the main antagonist of chapter 2, it makes sense to think that Spamton - other secret boss - would do the same thing for chapter three.

There's ralsei, lancer, king, queen, rouxl kaard,spamton and then... Mike? mike sounds like a human/lightner name, like kris or susie, so I think mike is probably a lightner.
The name tenna clearly references an antenna, so why wouldn't Mike just be short for microphone?
The teasers for the next chapter are all TV themed too, so it adds up
