I like that theory too, but I feel like it might be more about him becoming a monster and giving up Polites' morals, since Athena was there for Polites' death but not for Monster, and she sings that his light went dark after she sings that they grew apart 🤔 It would still reference that Polites was his light though! 💛
The royal family of Ithaca needs therapy. Queen Penelope has locked herself away, Telemachus's best day of his life was getting in a fight and not dying, and Odysseus... is Odysseus. He may be beyond help, ngl.
Athena definitely put it in very vague terms there what happened with her and Ody... but also very muhc Wisdom saga living up to its name there, Athena has been reflecting on what happened and what her part in it was, and she's gained wisdom, AND she's seeking advice on what to do about a mortal from another mortal, which shows that wisdom.
This song is by far the best example I've seen of character growth. Act One Athena could never consider the notion that she contributed to Odysseus's devolution into an evil monster. She viewed compassion as a flaw. Now she's able to acknowledge that she may have some blame for what Odysseus has become.
I like to think that the reason Athena was acting like that with Odysseus in the past is because she was acting more like a Goddess of War than a Goddess of Wisdom. She is a goddess of both but I feel like because Odysseus was constantly in some fight she ended up warring more than strategizing
I feel like Odysseus would be pissed to learn Athena befriended Telemachus and referred to him as a friend, when in their last interaction she said she wasn't looking for a friend. I'd be pissed.
Do gods even sleep? They have no need, they can't die from exhaustion. I'm asking this as a Hellenic Pagan, someone who literally worships these gods. Hypnos, I can imagine, seeing as he's literally the god of sleep, but it seems odd that any other god would need to sleep.
Dare I say one of the most underrated songs in the Wisdom Saga 😭😭😭 (I wish it was longer 😩). Sweet Divine Aunt and Baby Telemachus ❤️.
It's grown on me so hard. I love It's intricacies.
Agreed! It's sooooo beautiful aaah
Teagan Earley (voice of Athena) absolutely crushed it in this song, those high notes are both heartbreaking and gorgeous!
"His light went dark" line is a reference to "Your Light" the cut out song... Polites was Ody's light then he died so his light went dark.

It would also be good to rewind a little bit when you pause.

TEAGAN!! TEAGAN WHEN I CATCH YOU TEAGAN!!
Goddess of wisdom and war just small detail
Telemachus actually came really close to beating Antinous, if you look at their health bars.
I’m pretty sure you are allowed to react to it as so many other creators have reacted to it also😅

I assume Giulia is pronounced like Julia.
