To give a little more context, Percy gets easily mad at Aries because Aries has an aura around him that makes you feel angry. Like you want to fight. When Percy looks at him, he feels like he's talking to Gabe, Clarisse, any bully he's ever had. Every person that's gotten his blood boiling.

I think I'm in the same place as you, just asking "why?" It does look really good, and it's great that it (just based on the teaser) looks extremely similar to the original, right down to Toothless's mannerisms. The original was SO good that I wouldn't really want anything changed. But if the LA is just a carbon copy, then... why bother? Don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for anything new for HTTYD, so I'll probably love this just to have more content. But yeah, I'm wondering why too!

Poseidon's screams were really *music* to Odysseus' ears. Steven Rodriguez really made great work with that vocal lines those screams with runs gave us all the chill the music necessarily needs.

there is a theory I have been spreading around and adding to.... so basically the livestream animatics are "canon" in the sense they use examples Jay sends them to bring his vision to life.... Odysseus died when Poseidon forced him down into the "midnight" zone of the ocean... this was also foreshadowed by the Prophet Tiresias "I see you draw your final breath!" Odysseus was revived.... and him being able to reach the windbag and escape the depths is all well and good but... to overpower a god immediately after drowning to death and being restored to life by gods know what? There are other powers at play here.... and Odysseus having backing vocals in the form of the "600 men" chant should be a telltale sign of this as Jay openly stated "only the gods have the ability to break the laws of the musical and summon backing vocals" while it isn't confirmed Ody rose as a god himself.... we can use context clues to piece together that some god in some way is involved... people have said Ares but I dont believe that for a second given how he openly stated how he firmly believes Odysseus is a coward and a weak mortal with the inability to fight his own battles why would he want to give him a helping hand? if anything it would only reinforce his point that Odysseus is weak. Others said perhaps it was Hades but that is also unlikely given how Hades WANTS souls to wound up in the underworld and he would gain absolutely nothing from resurrecting and empowering Odysseus.... it is known that Odysseus is the great-grandson of Hermes as his mother's father was his son... so maybe there is some divine blood in there as a earlier comment stated..... im not certain how far down the tree one can go before the blood of the gods doesn't flow as thick but perhaps dying awakened that blood? I do think that is unlikely as Zeus would've been able to tell if Odysseus was a dormant demigod.... he is the king of the gods after all.... nah.... I think there is one answer that makes the most sense..... Odysseus was resurrected and given the strength of the 600 men he lost by Nemesis...... Nemesis is the goddess of retribution who punishes those who are arrogant or prideful.... and we all know how greek gods have no shortage of that.... as to why Nemesis would save Ody and give him the strength of his fallen crew? Helen of Troy..... her daughter.... Odysseus orchestrated the plan that liberated her from the brothers of Troy... though this is not the only reason.... Odysseus was granted freedom by the gods... they supplied him for the last stretch of his journey and were gonna let fate decide the rest.... by Poseidon directly getting involved he went against that decision... likely something Zeus wouldn't take to kindly to... though he would still see it as below him due to Odysseus' crimes against him and his defiance... so he sent a lesser divine like Nemesis to give him the means to fight his own battle... there is also the fact Poseidon took his vengeance way too far drowning 557 mortals over the blinding of a son he didnt really care for... continuing to pursue Odysseus afterward.... the scales of justice tipped in Ody's favor... and he was due some revenge.... and Poseidon had to be punished as well for his crimes... IMO this is the most plausible explanation.... it is named the "Vengeance" saga after all and Nemesis is the Goddess of Revenge!

I love how you went from "oh, the bag! 😯" at the start to "oh, the bag...😬" when Poseidon brought up the storm, it really sums every experience Ody's EVER had with the dang thing! I've loved watching your reactions and hope you'll do more when the final saga releases! (whenever that may be...maybe before the end of the year, though part of me also thinks maybe not until Jan or Feb of next year).

Oh man the callbacks to Different Beast (6:15) and Monster (8:39) were SO good, yet so brutal. I don't think we have the same Odysseus anymore folks...

I like to see this as Ody awakening his 1/8 hermes heritage (hermes power is speed). That and the windbag made the 600 strikes possible. Ody got a chorus singing "600 men" and only the gods have chorus on this musical.

Jay released a short where Hades (the real one, not the wet one) hears Ody's cries and releases the souls of the crew to attack Poseidon during the "strike" portion of 600 strike. Edit: Short by @joanacchi not Jay himself. I mistook the music credit as the poster. As of right now The Arteest has my favorite interpretation of the events that transpired here.

My interpretation of the end of Get in the Water is that this is the moment Odysseus considers giving up, and the memories of all the people he knows who have died manifest as the souls of the dead dragging him down. Either way, the melody is chilling and the visuals are super cool.

My interpretation of his mom and men singing to him is rather than them welcoming him to death, they’re trying to encourage him partially and maybe even give him strength. This is influenced by a popular fan interpretation of the next song that is technically not canon, but a popular one nonetheless. I choose to see it more positively, anyway. The way i kinda interpreted Poseidon's "I can't" is that he's not just talking about how he could lose his reputation as a ruthless god, but it's also because Polyphemus specifically prayed to him to kill Odysseus. Poseidon is usually depicted as a good father, always willing to do anything for his kids, and deep down he knows it's the one thing he has in common with Odysseus. In that brief moment, they're not just a mortal and a god, they're both fathers simply doing what they must for the sake of their sons.
