I 100% agree with you when you say that anything that has no eyes or black eyes is freaky. Trust me, even I find it scary and freaky looking. I swear you can put those Gnomes with the thick black eyes into ANY horror movie now these days and it’ll STILL be scary as hell! Those Gnomes with the the big black eyes are pretty f***ing terrifying! 😱😱

At 11:53-11:56, am I the only one who finds it utterly disturbing with the way Norbot makes those weird faces and makes those creepy sounds while recharging?? Maybe I just find this scene kind of dirty and uncomfortable. But that’s just me. 😳😳

Something I don’t see a lot about the similarities between Odysseus and Polyphemus is that both struck the offending parties at the hight of their confidence and the height of the song. Remember how Polities died in Survive? After the escalating music. And how did Antinuous die? After the final escalation of Hold Them Down.

One of my favorite parts of this song is just how well Telemachus holds his own in the fight, and the fact that he IMMEDIATELY scampers away when Ody stabs the dude. He doesn't give anyone another chance to get him and he recognizes that he probably shouldn't be in the crossfire between his father and the suitors. Where even if his dad recognizes him, accidents can happen. This, to me, exemplifies his new role as a Warrior of the Mind. Not just knowing how to fight, but knowing WHEN to fight and when to stand back.

Forgot to include this in my previous comment: I also absolutely love how well the use of motifs and signature instruments comes together in this saga but ESPECIALLY when Telemachus and Athena come in. I listened before I saw the visuals and even in that instrumental part, I could tell exactly who entered the scene and what was happening. It was the perfect combo of Legendary, Athena's motif, their instruments, and the quick thought sound effect. Insanely perfect!!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this song, especially the culmination of everything Odysseus learned from the monsters he fought (trapping them like Polyphemus, disarming them like Circe, aiming for the torches like Scylla, being ruthless like Poseidon) and how it's his name being chanted in the danger motif, just like Polyphemus. Also that the song is his name, which only his previous opponents had. And the VOCALS!!! The suitors were all spectacular. And of course the animation, the artists really pulled out all the stops this saga. I'm typically not one for gore either but I appreciate it here so much!!! It was done so masterfully!!!

Fun fact: The only songs that have names for the titles are monsters (Polyphemus, Scylla and Charybdis), looks like Odysseus is one of them now ;)

Just watched Turner and hooch and boy it was very sad loseing a dog is heartbreaking and when wallace yelled: GROMIT!!! Nooooo!!!! Was hard to watch :(

I know this song is extremely dark, serious, and graphic in its subject, but the line from Antinous "Only the ocean and I will know" inspires me to imagine Poseidon panicking and not wanting to be involved after just going through 600 Strikes. That makes me feel a bit better while listening to that part of the song.

This song is a great example of being an absolute banger that also makes you wanna throw up in your mouth

"Would he feel weird singing that." Yeah, probably. I'm an actor myself and I have played plenty of characters that were horrible people, including some that were like this and I definitely have felt a bit weird and uncomfortable about it. The key is being able to separate yourself from the character and recognise that it isn't you saying these things.

specifically his bow was a recurve or a palintonos (it curves reverse of the archer when not strung instead of being straight or curving towards the archer). So it's both a matter of strength and technique or *wit*. On top of that, there was very few recurves at that time in history, so the suitors would not know the way to properly string it. Fitting for a trickster hero like Ody and clever of Penelope to pick a hard challenge (and there's the 12 axes on top of it to make it impossible for the suitors)

The bow was a gift. And can only be strung if you do it a certain way. And only Odysseus ever figured it out. Most know how to string a bow, but this one was special because you have to string it from the opposite side.

I really love this song, I think it's my favorite from this saga!

It's sad that this could be Aardman's last film because the company that made the clay they would use has shut down. Aardman purchased the entire stock, which was enough to make Vengence Most Fowl. If this is their last production, then what a way to end it!
