Honda CRV centre console lid fix

How to fix Honda CRV console lid that won't close. If you own a Honda CRV 2007-2012, it's likely your centre console lid will refuse to close at some time in it's life.
The issue is a small clip switch (Honda CRV console part switch/clip - get it on eBay:
ebay.com.au/itm/204701553400 ) that you access from the base of the console, so console removal is necessary. It's an easy task: pry a plastic panel, unclip an electrical connection, unbolt 4 screws/bolts.
