If the old Cutter & Tailor forum was still up, so many people would have wanted to see this video. Nice find on the shears & nicely finished!

Today I picked up a huge heavy Pair 15” made by H. Zindel’ N.Y in Excellent shape. Still very sharp. No restoration needed-just little oil rub. Your pair look exactly the same ,size just maybe 1” shorter. Cool Video 👍🇺🇸

Nice shears but prob should have been taken apart fully and could have been properly tensioned by the guy who I assume sharpened them. The two lug holes on the opposite side you were hammering (cringe) are for a tool to unscrew the bolt holding it all together. Which would also act as tensioner when doing up again.
Bit late now but they do look great.

At 5:00, I’ve been trying to find ANY references or something on how the bolts are put together. Can you explain what you’re doing and what you’re looking for? I got some Heinisch and the blades are so far apart, it’s ridiculous.
I’d love to know what you’re doing so I can fix mine.

Hi. The brass rivet is softer than the base metal so if yo take a small hammer and pound around the edges evenly you can decrease the amount of space between the blades. I accidently made mine to tight the first time so i had to bend it a bit and nock it back again. What you see is my second attempt.

      @@humlehunden5099 thank you!
I was naively hitting the center of the rivet after commenting this but I did get to unscrew the rivet.
I’ll take the time to do as you described.
      Thanks!

I have those shares and they need to be restored. Is that something I can ship to you and have you do for me I would love the box as well. I’m curious about the price of doing all that.

Hi. I'm glad you liked the video. I dont work with restorations. This was just something I did as a gift. I'm far from an expert, but if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer what I can.
