Back in Benidorm again in April, staying at the Victoria, was going to book the Benidorm plaza , didn't realise they were next door to each other lol, thanks for all your great walkabouts
Hi Gareth-sorry I'm running a week behind at the mo, so hope you read this. We stayed at the Victoria at Xmas 2021 and cannot praise the hotel, food, staff, views etc enough. We had a great holiday. I booked all inclusive directly from the hotel and got a cracking price. Enjoy your holiday.
Well that brought back some happy memories! The Hotel Bristol (Park) was the first hotel I ever stayed at in Benidorm! Didn't enjoy the food, so we used to go to the roast chicken shop to eat on a regular basis. As you crossed the bridge there was a disco called 'Amerika' on the left hand side. It had smaller version of the Statue Of Liberty on the roof which was a great landmark! Wonder what happened to it!😄
Wow, I just love your stories and observations from past Beni visits, but I can't say that Amerika rings any bells with me, and I used to live in that area over 20 years ago, would it have been there then? Always interesting to read your comments Ged, thanks so much for taking the time to do so ☺️❣️
@@benidormandbeyond2445 I went to Benidorm in 1999 after a long break and it wasn't there then! Another bit of Beni trivia for you! If you've ever wondered about that strange dome-shaped door that's at the back of Hotel Diplomatic on Calle Lepanto, it used to be the entrance to a disco called 'Istanbul'. Think the Diplomatic was called the Hotel Don Juan back in those days!
Wow, I'm going to look out for that door now Ged! So many discos dotted around town then it seems compared to now, when they're all lumped together! Fascinating local info.. gracias ☺️💯🇪🇦👍🏻
Stayed at the RH Royal last October and absolutely loved where it is as it's so close to the old town. Always stay in the new town but wanted a change. Used to go over to the Victoria for a coffee in the evening. We might try Victoria next time.
Only 290 days until I come to Benidorm, but I'm not counting🤣 Let's remember that before Christmas until mid January it was warm, touching 20 c on some days. Silver Dollar 2 is incredible and the other day you mention the Chinese shop on Rei Jaime 1 now selling bedding plants, along with engine oil, DIY, zips, knitting wool, table clothes, all manner of crockery and glassware, and now would you belief it fishing rods! Going back to the winter you commented about the Victoria and Royal catering for cyclists and I wonder if those who don't come to Benidorm in the winter realise how much cycling is contributing to the local economy and the Costa Blanca in general. There are masses of professional riders out there training, I suppose it is both easier and cheaper than getting to Mallorca at this time of the year. Every day I came across 100's and in fact I did pass the Bahraini team one (they were of course having a 'comfort' break!). On 22 January Benidorm hosted the World Cyclecross final on Parque Foietes, it was shown on Sky Sports, on that day over 10,000 visitors came into Benidorm for the event. They all spend money which help businesses to continue in the quieter months and also keep the resort as one of the best value holiday spots for all of us.
I can see you're not counting the days Chris! 😂🤞🏻🇪🇦 Well, it's always good to have something to look forward to isn't it.. and will you stay at the PP again? and did you gift your bike again or ship it back this time? 🚲☀️🏢 Yes, it's amazing how many different reasons people visit Benidorm and the surrounding areas for; so many people enjoy sports (including walking!) in the Winter months as it's great weather for it, and of course, prices are better than high season too - bonus! The upturn in cycling facilities is great to see, and although I don't always include every single detail of every hotel, I have noticed that more and more are offering services for cyclists, and I thought that having a repair and wash-down station was a great use of the Victorias' spare exterior space. Thanks for taking the time to comment at length as always, and Bazar Jaime I sounds better than ever now - next time I'll have to put aside 10 minutes to pop in, instead of just filming outside!! Have a great week x 😘
Hello there, I'm coming over on 25th march, have you got any videos based on the hotel cabana...if not would you be able to do something on that for me at all please?
Hi Mickey! No I've never been to the Hotel Cabana or that area, as it's a "bit out of the way" as such; the nearest place away from the main roads I've video'd on the Poniente side of town is the Aparthotel Terralta which seems to get a lot of requests. If I get a chance to go that way I of course will for you, but I think it's unlikely this month. Hope you have a great stay and the weather is kind to you! 🇪🇦🏢☀️👍🏻🍺
@@benidormandbeyond2445 love (and watch) ALL your videos, my 1st comment sounded a little short and blunt...sorry I was watching on my lunchbreak and commented using a Mobile. Just LOVE the Poseidon Complex (as a family) and would be awesome seeing an inside review...all just walk past it normally lol x
Hi Ady, not to worry, thanks for explaining 🥰 Just confirm for me will you, is the Poseidon hotel on Via Emilio Ortuño a hotel in its own right, or is it part of the Poseidon Resort whose entrance is on Calle Esperanto? I admit I've never been in, but other viewers have commented recently that they have stayed here and it looks very nice 👍🏻🏢🇪🇦
