An old boy used to come in our local when we were in our teens. He used to go to Benidorm for 3 months at a time in the winter months. He used to stay at the same apartments, in the same room, every year.
He loved the place, as do many others.

Hi Lucy just found your channel,we used to love Spain Mallorca,loret de mar,Arenal and Benidorm we stayed at the Pelicanas and the Pueblo but that was in 1974 yes I was only 20yrs young lol we now live in Australia but not to old to come back for a holiday,thankyou Lucy awesome video❤💯✈

Having been to Spain dozens of times, I have never been to Benidorm. I am dying to go, as I think it is suitable for anyone any age etc. I like a mixture of their Culture, mixed with British traditions, and I think Benidorm fits that bill. Thanks for the video.

Pity there's a 90 day limit. A lot of British pensioners would benefit from a winter in the sun. It would be beneficial to both the uk and Spain. We got a shit brexxit deal. Thanks for video spot on👍👍

OMG what a brilliant video report,i am 75 this year, and we have been to Benidorm once before but that was summertime and we enjoyed it very much, my problem is wifey is younger and by 11 years and just finds it difficult to be around the older people all the time it sort of brings her down a bit , it's to much of a reminder, she is very young at heart, but for me, the thought of being there all winter would be fabulous, we love mooching about and doing bus or train trips, so thanks for this one,.

What a lovely video. Once went to Benidorm in may - even the locals said it was the coldest may ever - we ended buying the end of season winter jumpers etc🥶
I spent a week there one night 😂
it does get cold I was there in 2001 left early! Travelled up to Lloret de Mar and it was so warm and sunny.I now travel to the Costa Del Sol.
With a monthly energy bill in the UK of around £280 (300 euros ) not surprised that those pensioners who are able spend 3 months go to somewhere warmer .Even a Hotel will reduce the rate for a long stay .be it half board or inclusive Love the ex publican stating not much boozing though 🙂 Good tip with the south facing apartment though
£280?? Try £600, that's what we're paying!
Definitely tempting to clear off in January. Lucky buggers. You'll still have to leave your heating ticking over at home though, so you'll still run up a bit of a bill. Trust me, if you don't you may come home to a 6 month hotel stay in the UK whilst your home is dried out and rebuilt internally after a frozen pipe type disaster!, 🥶🥶
@@dad7720 what size of bloody house do you live in? Our 4 bed detached bungalow is £202 per month for gas and electric , £45 for water

The second couple are doing it right, holiday home England averaging £3500 site fees, then benidorm winter months probably the same. So living a whole year 7k - 8k and I'm assuming living off savings from the sale of a house. 👌

I just checked this video out. As I am presently on my hols in Benidorm. But I always have a winter sun holiday at this time of the year. Especially to get over the winter blues of the British weather. I am now a pensioners I just retired from work at the end of last month, I still find it strange that I’m technically a OAP. But by calling me that makes me feel really old😢😢, I feel too young to be called that though. I’ve booked the same hotel for next year already
No offence intended, i don't really like the term OAP i think YAH (young at heart) is much better 😊 Have a great time in Benidorm 💛
@@LucyYoungTBE non taken as I find it strange that I am now classed as a OAP. But I feel that I still have more to do and give this world, as this society tend to put us on the slack heap when we get to a certain age. But people of our age still have plenty to give

Lucy this was a very good vlog bless you, lots of great info there for us all, what can possibly be better this time of year to ride out the british winter there, and the apartment prices being so good, cant wait for the wife to retire and were on our way!!, gutted we missed you a few weeks ago, but were back very soon! we stayed in the don pancho for a week for the new year, it was amazing!. So enjoyed you with the macmaster too!. would i be right in thinking that poiniente may be cheaper still?? love adrian&issy in a soaking wet windy caerphilly! xx
Poniente is generally a little more expensive actually as its considered the posh part haha. Rincon de Loix or central Old Town is where you'll find long let Winter bargains

Hi Lucy, I spoke to you to you briefly when you were photographing the motability scooter pictured in the thumbnail.
Just out of interest staying on topic, my wife and I stayed half board one week with a last minute booking with Jet2 for £550 for the two of us, however we had to fly back on Friday 13th, just as well we weren’t superstitious like one of interviewees😊, so bargains are out there to be had.

As far as a finding a job goes as long as you have the right paperwork for working in the EU there will be plenty around. Without the paper work I'm afraid its pretty much impossible.

Cheaper than my rent some of them! Round Town Travel do have some great winter let offers if you're looking.
AirBNB but avoid something on the main-ish roads as they like to empty the bins in the early hours....EVERY NIGHT

Hello Lucy - I am in Benidorm now for 2 months at the NEREO Hotel H/B. This video is very informative - congratulations. Do you know that the Nereo hotel has a Doctor who visits every tuesday at 9 am to see anybody who is a sicko - like me. This is my 15th year in winter to visit. Once again Good Luck and God bless.

Probably cheaper going to Benidorm then putting the heating on. Don't blame people going for some sun on the bones its freezing in the uk at the minute.

Yes there are some, but it's definitely dominated by Northerners x
It gets dark "oooop t north" in september and doesnt get light again until march

Wow, those apartment prices are crazy, they should have tried Beninter. You never have to pay for electricity or anything like that, seems pretty naive booking somewhere you have to pay extra for electricity and as far as internet goes plenty uk mobile networks still give you really good value eu use.

This is our first time back since the lockdown which we escaped by one day, prices are a lot higher but for us the weather cancels that out, we are in an apartment facing the sea which gets the sun all day

Am i the only person south of London who goes to Benidorm? Every one of your videos when interviewing someone is always for the north of England or Scotland. When there last time a bar owner commented on my accent that they don't have many over there from "down south" is this true?
Yes very true, we do get Southerners visiting, but it's definitely dominated by the Notherners
