The Comfortably Numb solo never stops amazing me - it's so simple, both from a technical point of view and in theory (it's basically going up and down one D Major scale shape) yet it's so fantastic. Definitely an example of how much "feel" can be more important than complexity. Plus, as you've shown, it sound just as good on an acoustic! Great playing!
I'm originally from Ireland, living in England for the past 9 years. My dad and I always play this song whenever I can get home as it reminds us of my late uncle, his brother. I play the bass and dad plays the guitar, at the moment it's just air bass and guitar. It's just something that we do and we both sing the song into the early morning.
i am well aware Comfortably Numb is one of the most iconic but I couldn’t think of it like everybody else in the comments haha. My memory failed me. Saw the comments like ohhh but of course. Knew it sounded familiar to my ear but the neurons weren’t connecting up haha. Need more coffee. Great work!
Haha even fading the solo out into obscurity. This was 1000% faithfulness, to every little accent, every little ghost note. The accuracy was incredible.
I usually never comment on any videos but this is absolutely mind blowing!! Pink Floyd was never really my thing until I heard this solo live at Pompeii. This acoustic is just a masterpiece!
Comfortably Numb's second solo is perhaps one of the most effective "haunting" sounds ever produced with a guitar, and while this has a very different feel, it still draws you in.

The electric version gives you goosebumbs, this one gives you serene extacy
woahhh never seen goosebumps spelles like that haha😂
@@nozrepor ecstasy!
Saw the title and said to myself: "I wonder if it's the 'Comfortably Numb' solo?". Clicked, and BOOM! There it was. Beautifully played, too.
😁
Thank you!
Same here. When I clicked play and saw that D chord, I’m like “Yep” 😂
When I first saw a video of Pink Floyd in concert, I was SHOCKED that they were playing conventional instruments.
same bro!
Read the title and knew EXACTLY what you were about to play. Sounded even better than I expected
Thanks!!

DAMN IT BROTHER !! THAT WAS TRULY AMAZING !! LOTS OF RESPECT TO YOU FROM N.C. MAN THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL
I was thinking “if this isn’t what I think it is, we riot” hahaha.
Incredible. This has become my favorite guitar channel recently, especially because I can go and learn a lot of the parts afterwards!
That's great to hear. Thank you so much!
@@LevelUpGuitarTabsDitto!
At 1:04 that is my favorite little spot in the whole solo and you nailed it acousticaly! Very nice.

Absolutely beautiful tone coming from that acoustic. Great work. I forgot to mention tone is mostly in the hands of the player
Thank you!!
Tone=experienced hands, I couldn't agree more
The solo in come up and see me make me smile., is one of the best I've ever heard.
Outstanding, that looked effortless which means it was anything but. People can blag the notes but timing is all. Well done sir.

Always so much emotional in Gilmours work

Love your work alot.......I've learnt almost 15 songs from you and now this, your just too good.
That's nice to hear! Keep going!
Thank you!
Didn’t even have to listen to it. Knew what it was. You got my vote!!!
I loved your version. Nobody else walks it in like u.... awesome
Thanks, Nicky!
You just made me appreciate the best composition ever, now 10 times over. Fabulous stuff.
Your videos always help me find passion to play again.
Excellent work. Thats a hard one to pull off on acoustic with all of Dave’s bends. That was perfection!
That sounds really haunting on an acoustic guitar. Beautiful playing!
IT'S PERFECT MAN, Congratulations!!

Great, just brilliant! This solo is the best ever :)
IV BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Oh man, this is just gonna add to my already five minute long solo to this!!

Sounds amazing! Great bends and vibratos.
Bravo, Masterfully done!
Think I'm the only one here that had no clue what was about to be played. Love it, absolutely wonderfully played!!
I used to do this as a kid. Cheers m8
That was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. Thank you, this was one of the best videos on TH-cam I’ve seen in years.
Yep ! Nicely done ! Awesome.
This is beautiful ❤️👌🏼
As a millennial without too much contact to boomer music this blows my mind. It's absolutely wunderful
Somehow i figured it may be comfortably numb. Sounds great
Like how you spiced that with some Steven ray Vaughan kinda lick , mehn you definitely nailed the whole piece tho
Thanks, bro!
Love David Gilmour. Well done!!
I've always said it's Gilmores greatest solo..sounds great on acoustic thanks
Beautiful !!
Splendid 🙌
Very well done👍👍
Damn
That sounds too godly 🤴👑
I knew that exactly this was coming❤❤❤❤
Beautifully done. I felt numb listening to your acoustic take. I somehow waited for the camera to go up and show David's face.
I sat and swayed while his guitar gently wept.
Different Amazing taste. ❤ Very nice. 👏🏻
Level up Bro ❤
Great playing skills. Beautiful lead on an acoustic. Kudos.
That guitar sounds nice. What make and model is that guitar?
I finally got to see Gilmour play it last weekend.
Wasn’t he awesome!
Beautiful
Outstanding.. you absolutely bossed that, bro.. top of the list on the ‘things to learn’ list.. A thousand thanks..👍
@@jameswood-sj3iv 🙌🙌 Thanks!
Amazong! Lilely my favourite solo of all time, and you made it sound just as awesome on acoustic! Chapeau!
Saw the title and the still of that string in a physics defying bend and knew exactly what this was …. 😁😁
Very very beautiful 🖤
@@elialocchi Thanks!
Music to my ears

Yes! You are correct!
100% iconic
Best solo in history!
Love it. Wonder how On The Turning Away might sound.. 🙂
Are those some special strings? If I tried to bend mine like that, *BANG* 😀

Gilmour on fire!
❤THANK YOU ❤️
Very nice 👌🏽💯
Master ❤
Wow!
God damn, this guy is good asf
Great version...
Best master 💪
Really shows Gilmours technical work.
Beautiful solo
Will Can you play : the worst from polyphia ?
No doubt, It's The most ICONIC electric guitar solo !
Suuupperbbb!❤

Amazing !
Fantastic!! 👍
Thank you!!
I was ready to hear Eruption but his is cool too. Change the title though lol.
Another day of not getting anything else done.... Thanks! LOL
Freebird!!!
No Free Bird? No Stairway to Heaven? I feel like I've been fooled. Seriously though, great performance, mate (but you should have played Free Bird!)
Damn
Could've sworn it was "my heart will go on" after the first few notes. Lol
Surreal!
Obrigado, Pedro!
I’m so sad … never could play the guitar like this😪😪😪
Took me just a few bars to recognise it. 😂 At first I thought it was Hotel California! 😮😅
The Pulse version is almost certainly the best solo ever recorded
Just by the title I knew what it was going to be 🌈🤩🎶
Pretty nice.
When your guitar only has the 7th and 9th fret
Jk amazing job
Which solo is that?
Pentatonic at its finest.
Impressive
@@marclaporte3710 Thanks, Marc!
Pink Floyd!!
