I feel like for people who are not Internet personalities, a lot of this isn’t from a malicious place however when you make the decision to put something on the internet you are giving up the right to decide how it will be perceived. Even though something is seemingly innocent it can be warped quickly just because of the vast audience of the internet, it attracts more malicious intentions. As a child you don’t get to decide whether you will be okay with your face being on the internet forever and having people do whatever they want to it.
This is so similar to The Truman Show, a movie made in 1998. Since he was a baby, Truman’s life was filmed and broadcast on TV 24/7. He wasn’t aware that his whole life was a reality show.
