I am 58 years old and I no longer wish to exist on this mad world...give me back the 80's. We may have lived under the threat of nuclear annihilation but we had fun and the music was great.
If there was a highway back to the 80s there'd be the biggest road jam ever seen to man. We might not have been rich and, like you say, there was the nuclear annihilation thing going on, but compared to today it was a walk in the park.
The only succour in this dreadful century is knowing that there are SO many of us grieve for the 60's, 70's and 80's - no political correctness, fabulous music, brilliant films and tv.

You are nothing like a transwoman don't ever say that. You were made as a woman, with the intention of making babies and keeping our species survival going. Something went wrong during programming, nothing more nothing less. That does not mean by design that losing one function strips you of your sex! We are formed to reproduce, men aren't. Just by being a woman genetically overrides any individual malfunction.
My son was born deaf, does that make him my daughter? Ok that may be a lame comparison because our hearing is not a necessary function to reproduce. But, humans have ten fingers, ten toes, two arms, two legs etc...if a baby is born with eleven fingers does that make them a freak? If a baby is born with one leg, does that mean they're no longer human? Of course not.
Your "woman" is more than just your ability to reproduce. Your hormones make you a natural empath, and you can "Mother" any number of other children. Nieces, nephews, friend's children, children in hospital, children abandoned to care, children asking you a question on the bus, even the other children we nurture, that have fur or feathers or scales.
Plenty of women have babies. Not all of those women are Mummy! Some of them are downright selfish evil bitches who should have been sterilised at birth! Trust me when I say, as a woman, I can't identify with women who don't have that natural, nurturing, loving nature about them.
To me, a woman is who we are, typically feminine traits. Not every woman is particularly girly or feminine in her ways, including myself, but most of us have a distinct thought pattern, feelings, sensations and experiences that typically differentiate us from men. That "essence" is what makes you woman.
Your sadness and longing to have a baby born of your body, makes you a woman, and far more maternal than a lot of those who give birth!!!
I don't like to presume, but oftentimes, women who can't have children, often isolate themselves from friends who are pregnant or have babies.
I URGE YOU...PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT!!!
Ask you friend to include you, accompany her, be her birthing partner, share your tears of regret with her, share her tears of joy with you. Feel it, connect with it, that instinct alone is what makes you woman!!!
Every live birth is a miracle, one in a million if not less than that. Just because a friend is pregnant doesn't guarantee she'll have a baby. I don't wish that on anyone of course, but it's a fact.
My children:
I was 18 when I gave birth to my daughter. She was my everything! She gave my life joy and a reason to live! She's now 34, married, five children....and doesn't speak to me! I don't get to see my five beautiful grandchildren. They only live a couple of streets away....
I was 36 when I gave birth to my son, the same son I mentioned above was born deaf. He too was my everything! I've got more natural maternal feelings than is necessary for one woman! When I love, I LOVE! Children are precious and the best humans. My son would be 17 now...but he died aged 5½ years old, from chickenpox. (11 years ago)
In between the two children I birthed, adored, lived for...and yet have still "lost" ..... I also had five miscarriages in the years between. I always bleed when pregnant, I almost miscarried my daughter and son too.
By the time I was pregnant with my son, I was doing 2-3 pregnancy tests A DAY!...MINIMUM!!!
I bought the cheap dip strips, 3 in a pack from Poundland, and I wrote the date and time on each stick. We moved house when I was six months pregnant. My (now ex) husband found my secret stash in a bag. A pedal bin or waste paper basket sized bin bag. ¾ full. Imagine that, how small those plastic strips are, and how many would be needed to fill a bag that much!
I was overjoyed I was pregnant, but I rarely felt happy. I was secretly hiding my increased hysterical paranoia that I would lose yet another baby. Even when he was born I was obsessed with him. I couldn't believe he was there in front of me. My head struggled to get round the fact he was real! My paranoia still gave me fear of losing him. My paranoia was correct.
Mother's instinct...? Probably. I knew he was deaf the day he was born, though there was no reason or cause to suspect so. I just knew. Just like I knew I was going to lose him.
My reply, is not about ME, not about rubbing salt in your wounds. It's just a reply about Women. Motherhood. Maternal feelings. Parenting. Disappointment. Loss. Grief. Envy. Sadness. Anger. Injustice that we feel. Then how we question our own worth against these things that we've endured.
The problem is, those things are circumstances, situations beyond our control, Mother Nature, an act of God, coincidence, prophecy, manifestation, bad luck.... etc. Whatever cause you put these things down to, or whatever God you believe in, I can tell you now...

A couple of physical malfunctions is pretty normal in every human. From eyesight, breathing, hearing, walking, disability, organ failure....the list of possible human malfunctions is infinite! Yours just happened to land on your reproductive system, that's all. You could have been born blind, you may say you'd have preferred that...but you weren't, but you don't know that, you didn't have a choice or a say..... because it wasn't your decision.
It wasn't a choice from within you. Therefore it takes nothing from you! It's disappointing of course it is...but it's no reflection on you or your woman!

The fight over the generations for the rights and safety of women seems to be given no merit. I am born of a boomer generation, and I am appalled and saddened by this new terminology, I have fought and clawed my way through 'men' (not all) opinionated and cruel deeds towards myself and other women. I could go on with life experiences as many others could as well. I am enraged and hurt that my life of fighting to become an independent woman is being put into a pigeon "hole".
