    the corner at the end of the trail good for halibuts and striper, drop shotting from the pier also good...

    Aw man, I cringed when you did the reach around the other guys rod. Not because it's wrong but because I did that on a charter with a 55lb tuna on the line and my rod slipped right out of my hands. When I reached around to grab it with my right hand some guy behind me bumped my elbow and knocked it out of my hand. When I reached out to try to save my $1,000 set up I somehow hit the bail and my buddy was able to gaff my rod.

      Wow, I would hate to lose a $1000 setup, especially the tuna that’s probably worth lots of money. Lucky that your rod was saved.

      @@tjsportsfishing4194 my heart sank, Thank God I somehow hit the bail and my buddy ( also a deckhand) was right there next to me and already had the gaff in hand..
      I'm never using cork grips offshore again either. Rod was kinda slippery from all the live bait scales.. oh yeah I won the pot with that fish.. it was a couple of hundred bucks. I tipped it all to the deckhands, tight lines my friend 🤙

    hey bro i had a question in general, what's biting at the pier at the moment? i'm from utah and headed out there at the end of july, i was wondering if there's any pointers. would halibut and stripers still be around?

      sorry to hear that bro, monterey was a bust for me. i did some fishing up north in the SF bay area and limited on halibuts within a two hours or so... using live anchovies

    How do you rig anchovies so they don’t fly off when casting

  • @Mrcatchaslab
    @Mrcatchaslab ปีที่แล้ว

    Three way swivel rig or sliding sinker rig with live jack smelt

      Heavy weights with braided line will cut your finger on the cast
