i love the grandpas out there ! they’re so helpful and make it a wonderful time. my go to place to fish in the bay lol mainly go for sting rays and sharks and fish on the other side of the pier but will def try that side!
I used the same proficiency ultralight today out in the delta caught a 11” largemouth with it love this rod an reel combo for everything really tons of fun
Funny thing was looking up the regulations on that. When on a pier you can. Use all 6 hooks ok the sabiki but if you on the shore it's 3 hooks. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
My birthday's coming soon. My mom will buy me one pack of your anchovy swimbait can't wait to try it and maybe on Christmas I can buy the minnow swimbait.
Hey just a heads up about the bells, you should take them off right before you start to fight the fish! Not only do you risk losing them in the water, but it's also very distracting for us watching. Great video tho!
We typically fish for stripers on a moving tide either outgoing or incoming. For halibut we have found that in the SF Bay the most productive tide is the peak high tide or a very slow incoming tide!
Want to to go on a fishing trip to cslifornia any spots you guys recommend for strippers possibly halibut dont know if its season or not going in November or December
ONLY 3 SABIKI RIG LOL. AND MEASURE FISH FIRST BEFORE PUTTING IN BUCKET DONT WAIT UNTIL YOU GET HOME AND MEASURE. DFW COMES BY AND THAT FISH UNDER SIZE BIG TICKET.
@@JZFishing thnkz, i dont know where thats at but ill do some research lol from modesto i dont rarely head to the bay that much but gotta go fish there more often when theres time. gotta catch me some sea creatures for a change lol
Theres no risk, at the very least if you find bait, you'll find the stuff that eats them. Cant go wrong with bringing lures/plastics/jigs as a back up anyhow.
here is what the california fish and game hand book said regarding cast net. California has regulations for different types of cast nets, including Hawaiian throw nets, dip nets, and beach nets: Hawaiian throw nets These nets can be used north of Point Conception to catch herring, Pacific staghorn sculpin, shiner surfperch, surf smelt, topsmelt, anchovies, shrimp, and squid, and there are no size restrictions. Dip nets These nets can be used to catch the same species as Hawaiian throw nets, and can be any size. Beach nets These nets can be used north of Point Conception to catch surf smelt, and must be no longer than 20 feet and have meshes that are at least 7/8 of an inch long.

Be careful with that 6 hook sabiki rig in the bay. DFW will issue you a citation.

Really hard to watch with the camera swinging back and forth like that.
Good fishing! How do you decide what days and times to go out for stripers and halibuts?
