The bassboss sounds much cleaner and more balanced and musical to me. Another thing, when running two QSC adjacent to each other you get coupling which will produce additional loudness.
Good review/comparison on the two. I have seen the marketing video that makes this claim, doesn't mention QSC specifically. It says most, which means there can be exceptions. But still your paying approximately $500 more for the dual QSC, additional space, and time needed to stup. If this is not an issue, or you think the sound is worth it... Then of course do what will not only make you (anyone reading) happier but will also be an investment in your business (make you more money). Now, the other issue is music. Different music requires different requirements from their speakers. So, no one speaker or brand with be the cure all for every DJ or event. Also, how speakers sound in a house with sheetrock and low ceilings, furniture, etc vs a warehouse, club or other venue is completely different. Make sure to listen to speakers in a similar environment before purchasing, or you can end up with a few thousand dollars worth of a surprise! 🤔
I have two of the bassebosse Dj18,s and two QSC12.2 and they sound absolutely amazing unfortunately the QSC12.2 can't keep up with the subwoofers dj18s. I believe I will have to buy another pair of QSC12.2 to be able to get the max of my subwoofers but means more work if interested I sell the QSC12.2 and just get the bassebosse DV12,s Expensive equipment but worth buying.. Hey everyone after owning these 2 ssp118 for a few months, the verdict is out BASSBOSS ssp118 is definitely a winner by far, I can turn them all the way up without the clipping lights coming on . These bad boys turned in to a monster with the gain turned all the way up on the amplifier.
Greatest comparison: l really thought, BASSBOSS would Blow the QSC - not so QSC 118 Rocks , Especially if you’re playing Them together. Excellent Comparison 🔥 🔥🔥
I have a pair of BASSBOSS ssp118's and YES they will and DO SOUND BETTER......how do I know???? I compared them side by side my two against 4 QSC subs and my BASSBOSS subs stomped all over them.
Bassboss subs are tuned lower. They produce a different kind of bass that gets into walls and spaces unlike others. Once you get used to that type of bass, you will not want anything else. Most other subs are tuned to accentuate the 60-100Hz region of the spectrum and may sound “louder” but that missing lower area is a difference maker. That is why you have multiples of other subs to get lower. Give the SSP118 any day of the week.
Multiple of those other subs will not go lower; they’ll only get louder. It takes coupling from a certain type of sub (horn types) to couple and go lower with more units. That being said… I’d take the BassBoss over all the others 10 out-of 10 times, any day of the week…
Thanks for for sharing bro I got 4 QSC tops pair of .2’s and a couple k12’s presently use 2 yorkville’s 801p to get the bass I want but sometimes u need a smaller box for tighter spaces so great review 🇹🇹✌🏼

Yes, 1 SSP still have more punch than 1 QSC ks118….The SSP have a bass that is much lower, to describe it is like hearing a car audio with 2 x15 subs from a distance coming towards you with that low humming bass.
You have to align your double subs. Both of them sitting side by side are not a going to make much difference. Also, I understand that doubling the power is only going to give you another 1 or 2 dbs
so i listened on a proper sub and it did however sound like 1xBassboss is almost equal to two QSC18s here alby this is not true due to cone area and sound dispersion.
Two QSC is louder in the upper frequencies; however BASSBOSS goes lower than both QSC put together when the recorded materials are present for the lower frequencies

Bass boss is louder and deeper and can be turned up all the way I had it half way up on the other hand if you turn the QSC pass 1: o’clock position the red clip light will come on 😢 no so on the bassboss
Also, the QSC sounded clearer because the BASSBOSS was loud enough to clip the microphone on the device recording the video. The QSC didn’t have enough gas to do that so it sounded “cleaner”.
