I have the 10.1 inch Eonon,12s+ which is much more clever because of the fully adjustable and tiltable screen but especially: it sounds phenomenal and powerful, something my Joying or Atoto never did. Joying is okay but definitely not great. Also the EONON build quality is better, the software is better and it has Android 13. As my mx5 is very small I can't use anything bigger then 10inch anyway..so thanks for recommending the EONON
I was only looking at the widescreen one a few days ago and boom you have one on display. I am liking the widescreen for the 2001 Camry, i think the big 10" plus ones take up too much space, and the Camry has dead space to the left and right of the head unit. Only thing i wish, is it had a 360 camera option like the T'eyes.
and actually the Spotify app looks far better when it is not too wide, I use a split of 70% google map and 30% spotify approximately and it is great. I just wish there was a way to load it automaticaly every time this way.
I couldn't live without split screen - the main reason I upgraded from Joying to Xtrons's widescreen as Joying didn't do one 5 years ago. Joying got the DPI right though - Xtrons I had to root to fix it.
It would have been interesting to see how some after-market launchers looked on that wide screen. In the future could you please show a side view after installation? I've seen some units that seem to stick out 4" from the dash.
Hi, thank you for the lovely review video ❤ Does this also have a secret 360 camera port inside? I have the cameras installed already. That's the only thing that stopping me from pulling the trigger on this unit. Thank you
Great videos very good.. was curious if this joying is not supporting 360 camera ? I got a reply from there helpdesk saying they don’t support 360 cameras.. is this the case ?
Nice to see you back! My only question is re app compatibility with the form factor. Some apps dont really like landscape mode and some even point blank dont have one (music streaming apps seem to be bad, like bbc sounds, Amazon music) and because of this using them on a car head unit can be rubbish or even impossible (e.g controls being off screen). I bought an xtrons android head unit for my car a few years ago and my initial excitement was destroyed by this issue. Do you find any issues these days and specifically with the joying, did the extreme widescreen cause any problems?
Same. I use tidal and my joying in landscape, tidal is rubbish. It reverts to basically an android mobile phone screen.. about 3” x 4” in portrait mode.. it’s the app developers to blame..
I was really waiting for this review. Joying has a lot of head units with different screen sizes. So from your experience with Joying you would just choose the one with the sceen that fits your needs best and expect, that the quality and the features (if not mentioned differently) for all their high end products are the same? My original radio had some buttons to change settings in the car (e.g. time of the clock). Most of the navigation can be done without the original radio just by steering wheel controls. But one or two buttons are missing. Has perhaps any of these headunits had the software and option to SEND can-bus commands?
Do any of the Headunit's you demo, come with 2xfront RCA'S, 2xrear RCA'S and 2x subwoofer RCA's high power outputs? The unit would need to be compatible with the on board controls from Air Conditioning system and so on?
That’s a great review, as always! I am committed to installing an Android head unit, but I am looking for one that has a facility for multiple camera inputs and display. I regularly tow a caravan and would love to utilise an additional three camera inputs for cameras on the caravan, in addition to the reversing camera (with the reverse trigger). Does the Joying head unit do this, perhaps through an additional module? Thanks in advance. JB
Hello Sir. can I use this out the box or do I need to buy the cambus harness for a 2013 Honda Accord. I already bought and received mine compliments to your video.
Like the wide format & option to connect additional screen elsewhere, considering doing that via display mirroring from small/cheap unit to add display in sight-line but out of reach, so smaller head-unit can be mounted less obtrusively & integrated into dash.
That can actually be done with Din 0 head units. That's where a single din box has no screen directly attached, but you can connect one with a ribbon cable up to 1m in length
@@SaabUnleashed Yep, bought 7" android to suit double-din radio space below dash & cheap wide 10" displays to mount in dash under windscreen ('92-96 Prelude has full- width display area ). Will have to investigate operating systems... eventually..

Thank you for your incredible content as usual ! Can the universal model support the canbus of vw cars please? And second question, is it better to buy from aliexpress and amazon instead of the official joying website please ? Thank you 🙏🏻
There are VW car options, but I can't speak for compatibility, you'll have to speak to Joying about that. Regarding where best to buy it from; you get a second level of warranty if you buy it from Amazon or AliExpress, but the Joying store is fine also
Thanks for this. I currently have an xtrons unit in my x5 e53that needs updating (3yrs old)I’m wondering if this would fit. I originally had the double din oem unit. Also a question would you still get a unit that is oem looking but with cd? Or would an external one be able to add to this unit. I know there is all these streaming apps but I still have a stack of cd’s 🤔😁
Just to clarify, does it never shut off? I'm in canada, and when winter hits hard where I am, batteries tend to not like anything drawing power while the vehicle is off. I'm considering the joying unit and the teyes but leaning more towards the joying since it offers more ram and storage and has a physical volume knob.
Hey! I am looking for a recommendation if you can: I have a c6 corvette and am looking to upgrade my head unit. I would love something like this (external knob, modern looking buttons) but I feel as though a large unit such as this would not look good in the space I have as I think it would block my AC vents/buttons and knobs for AC controls. Any suggestions, maybe a 2din size that has similar functions, speed of use, and general good looks? Thanks!
I am learning from you and your channel, thank you. I now want to get one of these units for a 2011 Toyota corolla. I live in Houston, Texas. In the summer it gets hot as hell. Are these safe in these extreme temperatures? I found the Joying (JY-TZ163N8) on Amazon and I like the fact that it has a volume knob. I can't find whether or not it has 4 volts for the RCA pre-outs (?). I was also considering the Idoing 9" for this car but it does not have a volume knob. Also, the JY-TZ163N8 does not support phone calls and SMS which is surprising given it elevated price. Would you recommend the JY-TZ163N8 or do you know of a better one that comes with a knob?
This is fantastic. Great unit. Do you know or could you test if any of the USB ports could power an external USB HDD for extended DVR capacity or application data storage? Thanks for your awesome videos. 3:49 (EDIT: I realized you answered this in the video after a rewatch.)

I have been looking at an Android headunit for ages. I currently have a tablet hardmounted to the car, with sound streaming over bluetooth. I have a few Tasker-scripts installed to make it turn on and off, but still it sometimes runs out of battery. And the sound over bluetooth isnt great. But there a some settings displayed on my stock radio that i need. For example, when i change summer and winter tyres, i have to go into a menu on the stock headunit, and set the tyre pressure. And if i get a tyre pressure, or oil level warning or something like that, I also have to use the stock headunit. Are these settings still available on a headunit like this? Hi! So I bought this exact one for my 2006 9-3 and LOVE it. How did you wire the SWC though? I followed an earlier video of yours with pulling one of the two green wires from the harness behind the cluster but then what? I also wasn’t sure if this needed a canbus decoder or was direct wire. PLEASE help, that’s the last thing I have yet to get going on it. Otherwise I’m obsessed, it’s amazing!
To be honest, even I could get the green wire method to repeat again. I went directly to the CIM for this one. I recorded the installation and will release it one the editing is done, that has the guide
Thanks for the video. I have an older joying, but not very impressed to be honest. I have a Bluetooth device which connects to my phone so I can get data readouts from it onto my phone. I expected to be able to connect the head unit to it as well via the app so I could get the data readouts from the driver seat, but Joying only implemented one half of the Bluetooth functionality i.e. send audio to head unit / hand free etc but not for connecting to remote devices via an app and use the head unit as you would a phone. So its not really Android in that sense, unless they have fixed it recently of course, in which case this would be interesting to me.
I found the 10.1 double din units from Eonon are better, they have better bluetooth mic support. if you make calls from your car Joying is super bad at least that was my experience.

Can you please make a video reviewing this Plug&Play amplifiers for android headunit that are supposed to increase the sound quality by giving more punch bass boost similar sound like Pioneer headunits, there is one from the brand ATOTO 4 channel 400w
My only think with Joying is i do not like the screen sticking out the dash. The screens look clean AF but then that just big sticking out the fan not flush makes it seem cheap and an unfinished install job. Cheaper radios come with a bezel and everything for your car. Joying... you just get a big screen sticking out.
Question is how easily and quickly can you clip it on and off, or is there another unit out there that just pops on and off without any fiddling around with ribbon cables
Can you give your experience with the MIC response that come with the unit? I've heard the volume is low on the receiving end not up to par. I noticed there's a mice hole on the front panel, what is it uses? What about the response time boot/up when you shift the gear in reverse? I've heard slow response than the stock head unit. Thank you.
@@SaabUnleashed sweet I have 2 of them with volume knobs. I don't think they are listed on the website but they do offer them. I can send more information if you would like me too. Just let me know we're to send it.

Joying can't do anything above Android 10 as far as I'm aware. Sometimes they have released firmware that claims to be Android 11 or 12 but it is Android 10 that has been hacked to report that it is 11 or 12.

I would guess a power supply for a computer would work well as it converts 220-240V to 12V (and probably other voltages too there are many cables going out, might have 5V too). Only thing i wish, is it had a 360 camera option like the T'eyes.
Nice head unit. Thanks for another well made, informative video.
I would like to see some non-android budget ($100-$500) head units be reviewed
I'll see what I can do
@@SaabUnleashedPlease review the new Mekede/Navifly M7 plus. Seems to be the highest spec'd units in the Chinese market for head units.
split screen makes so much sense
and actually the Spotify app looks far better when it is not too wide, I use a split of 70% google map and 30% spotify approximately and it is great. I just wish there was a way to load it automaticaly every time this way.
I couldn't live without split screen - the main reason I upgraded from Joying to Xtrons's widescreen as Joying didn't do one 5 years ago. Joying got the DPI right though - Xtrons I had to root to fix it.
Thanks! Been waiting for this!!!
Great video any idea if it would fit Skoda Yeti 2014 RHD Australia
Another great video. Thanks!
It would have been interesting to see how some after-market launchers looked on that wide screen.
In the future could you please show a side view after installation? I've seen some units that seem to stick out 4" from the dash.
Hi, thank you for the lovely review video ❤
Does this also have a secret 360 camera port inside?
I've never tried Amazon music, I'll give it a whirl. Never had an issue with the form factor and I personally only use Android devices
Same. I use tidal and my joying in landscape, tidal is rubbish. It reverts to basically an android mobile phone screen.. about 3” x 4” in portrait mode.. it’s the app developers to blame..
Ready for your 2024 best headunits!
I have a few more reviews of key head units before that, but it's coming

Hello Sir. can I use this out the box or do I need to buy the cambus harness for a 2013 Honda Accord.
I like this unit. Do they have one for a Nissan Altima 2019-2023?
Hi mate, does this allow for 360 camera at all? Ive been trying to work out whether Joying supports this. If it does ill be pouncing on it
Nice review. Do these kind of units ever have DAB?I have never seen it.
All Android head units are DAB compatible, it's one of the many optional USB add-ons. I show it here th-cam.com/video/zWrjBVZ75sM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=b7TbLMJIEmfJ9_co
👋 hi, question can you also add a 360camera setup to this unit?
Thank you for your incredible content as usual !
Can the universal model support the canbus of vw cars please?
And second question, is it better to buy from aliexpress and amazon instead of the official joying website please ?
Thank you 🙏🏻
There are VW car options, but I can't speak for compatibility, you'll have to speak to Joying about that.
Regarding where best to buy it from; you get a second level of warranty if you buy it from Amazon or AliExpress, but the Joying store is fine also
I'm getting closer and closer to switching to an Android
Do it. Immediately.
Dont do it most of these are junk and half the time most apps dont work i have 3 of them it took that many to learn

Can the joy fit in a GMC Denali pick up with the proper harness trim kit?
Whay speaker sensitivity work best with jkying bead units? Or do you need an amp and then connected to front speakers?

I'm looking for a 1 Din Android head unit for a Land Rover Discovery 1, nothing too fancy more focus on budget (100 to 200€), 7 or 8 inches of screen should be enough, @SaabUnleashed any good advice? Thanks in advance and keep creating great and inspiring content.
hi i bought a 10.1 joying headunit android 12 on your reviews i always watch them very informative i recently bought a van and its in the garage at the moment i installed the head unit and the 2 cameras everything works great with what i have tested but i did notice on the fm radio when i select a station the scrolling text under the station is a mixture of chinese and english and then all english then a mixture again even the numbers do the same.i have not really drove the van yet so this might come out of it,im just wondering did you ever come across this. thanks for your videos
I actually haven't seen that before, but I do recommend you use a different radio software called Navradio which I show in this video th-cam.com/video/zvbV3fOPT6A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=p5n1g5YvOze0lnil

Not sure how that is possible the RDS text comes from the sending radio station over the air.

I drive a 2015 Skoda Octavia
Alpine makes a headunit with Android Auto that supports the stock features mentioned above. But its around 2000 $ !
Great content as always ! Fellow 93 fibre optic user here. Since this unit offers hdmi output is it possible to install this unit in the dash somewhere and run a hdmi cable to a screen in the ICM3?
Technically yes, I would need to test compatibility. I have done that before with an Eonon
Always great reviews. I currently have an old xtrons and use android auto. To not use android auto do i have to use the phones wifi hotspot to stream youtube music on the head unit itself? Or do i need to put a sim in the head unit? Cheers in advance
You can use either the phones WiFi or use the built in SIM holder
@@SaabUnleasheddo you have to set that up every time you get in the car if you don't have a SIM. That's why I used auto cos I don't then have to connect my phones WiFi
I keep the WiFi hotspot permanently on on my phone which does sacrifice some battery life.
does joying have any support for 360 camera systems? I am strongly considering Teyes because of that feature alone.
Can you send anything to the second screen? Or is it just videos, I am needing to send some ECU app to the second screen

Pull down in a swiping motion from the top of the screen. This will show the Android buttons and you can press home
I look forward to that video. Just installed a joying 8.9 inch in my 2006 9-3 estate. 🎉@@SaabUnleashed
@@SaabUnleashed Waiting for the video Just installed my 9 inch unit and loving it.
Can you get one for a mazda cx 3 2021 and over ? Or a second screen for the car, please.
I found the 10.1 double din units from Eonon are better, they have better bluetooth mic support. if you make calls from your car Joying is super bad at least that was my experience.

I love Android Head Units. What I would love is for a 3rd party launcher to have the appearence of Android Auto (large icons, large text etc) but with the functionality of full Android. I'm not a fan of stock Car launchers so I use Nova Launcher. However, Nova is designed for Tablets and Phones and icon size / text size is very limited

@SaabUnleashed what is now better? Mekede dudu, or this one?
Can you give your experience with the MIC response that come with the unit? I've heard the volume is low on the receiving end not up to par. I noticed there's a mice hole on the front panel, what is it uses?
What about the response time boot/up when you shift the gear in reverse? I've heard slow response than the stock head unit.
Thank you.
1. Can you connect a usb mouse to it?
2. Wouod this large unit work with a honda civoc 2017?

Hi thanks for the review, one question on the Joying website says it comes with android 12 but your unit has android 10 ?¿
Joying can't do anything above Android 10 as far as I'm aware.
Sometimes they have released firmware that claims to be Android 11 or 12 but it is Android 10 that has been hacked to report that it is 11 or 12.
Can you suggest one for my car, joying or mekede dudu7

Can Joying do 360 cams?
30 years ago Tandy ( UK ), sold a transformer, that allowed you to play, car radios, using 230v mains. Anyone still making them?
No, but you can use any 12v transformer that allows a current around 5 amps.
@@SaabUnleashed
Thanks, my grandfather had the transformer. There must be hundreds of car radios, in sheds, attics etc, that could be repurposed
I would guess a power supply for a computer would work well as it converts 220-240V to 12V (and probably other voltages too there are many cables going out, might have 5V too). Given the price to quality of car speakers and the price of entry level android Unit, if I was in the market for good Bluetooth speakers, I would probably build them myself with car components...
Is the unit ribbon cable same to the other joying head units? To use with a different screen
Yeah it's the same floppy cable
