    Great info videos. I need to update both my HDS Lives and Active Target, does it matter that I download the updates to a MacBook OS system or does it have to be a Windows based system?

      Both work.

    Yes, another great video.
    I'll add that I use my HomePC to create folders on my SD-card named Waypoints, Settings, ShadedRelief, etc to allow me to manage my Lowrance data.

      Good practice, Britt. I do the same with my computer (I create a Lowrance folder in my cloud storage for each year, and save my waypoints and settings in it).

    Thanks Mark! Excellent educational video. I was needing to know this due to setting my brand new HDS LIVE 16 from saved settings from my HDS LIVE 12.

    Good instructions. How about a follow up video on restoring the settings to the Lowrance unit?

    • @marcmarcantonio
      @marcmarcantonio  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great point; I will do that! In the meantime anyone who reads this can restore their settings by inserting the microSD card into a slot, go to "Storage", select the slot with the inserted card, select the File Name that represents the saved settings, and then Upload.

    Great recording and thx for sharing. Well, based on logic, if new upgrade includes updates of some settings which were included in the backup you've made, so as soon as you restore those settings you will erase the settings from the updates. The point is - Lowrance should test new updates better. Each update (not that much frequently to be honest ) causes an issues for the clients. I just upgraded my unit, literally all of them, including Ghost to default settings (hard reset) and I'm still facing the issue that I haven't had before the update.

      What is the issue that isn't resolved?

    Good video, appreciate you helping us out, now the bad news, I had changed a bunch of setting and I liked the way it performed, so I saved those settings before updating, no way I’ll ever remember over half of what was changed, or to what, and I didn’t take notes lol.
    I reloaded those setting so I guess now I’ll take a day (or week) to go thru each mfd and write down each’s setting so I’ll have them, do another hard reset then put them in manually, too hot to fish here now anyway.

      Take a photo of each screen showing your overlay data; at least that will make it go quickly. Think of this exercise as practice and getting to learn how to quickly setup your units. It will pay dividends in the future when you go to a different body of water and decide to custom design a screen just for that trip...you will be able to do it quickly and confidently from having practiced!

    Should I remove my CMAP chart card inserted in the unit before doing a hard reset?

    • @marcmarcantonio
      @marcmarcantonio  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Technically you do not have to take out any map card, but I always do to be safe.

    I have a 16 hds pro. It moves slow on the sonar downscan and side scan. I have the 3-1 trans on it. It’s also twitching as it moves?

      Save your waypoints and perform a hard reset. Also remove any map cards to see if speed improves, if so you may have a bad map card.

    I’m having issues with the latest update not working with the At2 and was told to do a hard reset. How do you get your settings back into your unit after you do a hard reset. Maybe a stupid question but I’m about to smash all my Lowrance stuff with a sledgehammer 🤣

      Once your settings are stored on a MicroSD card, put the card in a slot, press the pages button, go to "storage" and select the slot where you put the card, then follow the prompts.
