@@Celtic_Cheesepuffs I believe it is if you use peanut butter then it’s “edible”. Technically it should all be edible since it’s all kitchen ingredients but I believe the peanut butter one is the go to edible one.
My mom used to make it all the time, it was salty enough to deter me for a while after I ate it, but I always wound up eating some a few months after I forgot how bad it was. Low-key amazing stuff though.
My dad did something similar but they covered all the walls with paper and gave me crayons (kinda hard to make a huge mess with crayons). I could draw anywhere and I wasnt in trouble!! And my parents loved it I remember stretching out my gum too and making shapes on the paper!! I was obsessed with drawing and art growing up, I think this is probably why lol
My dad was a professional painter and I would get a bowl of water and one of his old brushes and "paint" the cupboards and doorway trim. My mom loved it because I was basically cleaning them.
"My son just screamed at the cotton balls the entire time" me when I open a new bottle of meds and they have the worst textured cotton known to man in them
Saw someone else mention this but, the cotton balls are probably a sensory issue for your kiddo. I know I absolutly hate touching them and the sound makes my teeth hurt. 😬
@@UnpersonaCom Said probably. Not that it absolutely was the issue here. I know that everyone experiences things differently and the child could just not like the cotton balls in general but it doesn't hurt to mention that it could absolutely be a sensory issue.
When we were tiny me and my two brothers were entertained for HOURS with dough. Just simple dough you make to bake with, goddamn fantastic. Made us feel like 5-star chefs
Toddlers will fall in love with the most random household items. E.g. for a period of time, even though i had proper toys, i became so obsessed with a red plastic ladle set my grandma had in her kitchen to the point of sleeping and bathing with them in my hands. I also literally asked for, and received, a yellow plate one year for Christmas and developed the same type of obsession. Now the plate is my cat's dry food bowl.
My mom made homemade play dough for us instead of buying it because not only is it way cheaper, your kid can also safely eat it and not get sick (as long as they don’t have celiac 💀). The kind we made growing up you could also bake into little figurines. They didn’t last terribly long but it was a lot of fun to shape bake and then paint our little sculptures together
A very fond memory I have is when me and my dad would make homemade playdough and be kneading it for hours(in my little kid brain). Great memory and activity 😂🥰
My little sister LOVES playing in the sink! obviously, only put plastic items in there, keep the water cold or luke warm and I recommend it for kids 3 years or older. It keeps her entertained for ages, the clean up it normal not to bad as its only water.
My niece is really into the pots and pans cabinet lol. She spreads them all out on the floor and makes her own little drum kit and just drums away on them. Her fav is when she can get ahold of a spoon to use as a drumstick
when I was a kid,my mum uses to always make me playdough; it's also a double activity because children love ti watch what mum does and makes. amazing think for children and toddlers
my mum used to make homemade playdough all the time cause i used to eat the stuff from the shop and she didnt want me to get sick, i loved the homemade stuff when i was little and i still do honestly
A friend of my mom (she has 3 kids) one time while we were over made homemade playdough. I thought it was RLLY cool. She's also rlly chill and I like her and her kids they r so cute 🥺
My mum used to always make home made playdough with me when I was little, as a now teen the playdough is a 10 out of 10 I still remember getting super excited when my mum would tell me she’s going to make me playdough
The homemade playdough takes me back to when my cousins, my sibling and I would make it with my grandma and she had a bunch of different cookie cutters, props and dough tools that made it super creative. I miss those times
When me and my siblings were little my mom had a bucket with a bunch of rice in it and tools and it would keep us entertained for hours. Plus you can just put the lid on it and put it away when you’re done.
Homemade playdough was one of my favorite things as a kid, and something my parents always did to prevent us from eating it was put a lot of salt in it
Nah cuz, when i was a toddler i used to be OBSESSED with cutting bhendis (lady fingers) with a KNIFE as a TODDLER! i used to take my fav cutting board and my mother literally trusted me around knives
In 2016 I was around 5 at the time and my auntie would always ask me to make playdough with her and her friends. (They were all 16-18) I was the little kid so they would always play with playdough with me or help me make slim. :3
We would also keep our homemade play dough in the refrigerator to help it stay good longer. I don’t remember how good it stayed, we were always making new play dough! My mom would add kool aid packets to make it smell good too.
My parents just gave my sis and I a big bin of beans to play with, and it was one of our favourite activities. Especially when a babysitter was over we would beg to play with the beans, I don’t even remember what we did with them.
The bowl of water can also be used with beads or small waterproof toys. It keeps my cousin (3) and her little friends entertained for at least an hour lol. She call them “ponds”😂
I still remember making Play-Doh with my mother when I was about 4 years old, It was dark purple. Added benefit I did not eat that Play-Doh because it was so damn salty but I did have fun.
My old after school program (in elementary school) made play dough that was safe for kids to eat in case they ate some, but it was super salty so almost nobody actually wanted to
Mine loves ooblek, really messy but we do it outside, it’s just corn starch water and food colouring and it’s a non-Newtonian fluid so when no force is applied it’s a liquid but if you put force on it it’s a solid. Yes my husband is a physicist, at least he’s not old enough to find my work fun yet (international politics) 😂
Lol when my brother was little and i had to babysit him i would boil different pastas and mix then in a bowl and he would spend ages sorting them. Best thing
My mom used to make homemade playdough cause we tried eating the store kind and I remember the best part about the homemade playdough was eating it. It was really gross tho super salty idk why I found it fun.
The homemade play dough saved my grade seven geo project lol. Had to do volcanic features, ran out and fit some reason nowhere had any in stock. Of course ended up tripping literally on the walked to hand it in and ruined everything. The beginning of my love hate relationship with geo
I used to make playdough ALLL THE TIMEEE!!! Of course at the time my family was very poor and we where not allowed to “waste” the food coloring on our toys 😂
I remember about my mom and me making house made play do (I don’t know how to spell it) that isn’t toxic so if we eat it it wouldn’t make me sick and I give it to my teacher
Used to love the taste of homemade playdough. Don't think I ever had the real stuff and it was probably for the better. In my defense it was mint scented.
EVERITHNG is cool but, the dry noodels. I would not do% them cuz I THINK i dont know, i think todlers can just stuck them in there mound and cough on it. But it is NOT a hater comment!❤
I Really don’t want to be THAT GUY but homemade playdough can be really dangerous if ingested because most recipes call for a HIGH level of salt which could cause issues for young children, it’s safer to just buy the brand stuff or get your hands on a low-sodium recipe if possible
Very cool, especially the homemade playdough recipe ill have to check that out
It’s a fun one!
It's also edible in some recipes.

I hate when they put cotton balls in them. It's all dry because the medication powder got on it or whatever. It's awful
I use tweezers to pull the cotton out!
she said that and i thought "he's just like me..." the texture of cotton balls is horrible 😭
Back in the olden days, lol, my kids loved playing with my kitchen pots and their blocks, their specialty was Block soup!😊

Thats me with paper products

I mean you could probably also use boiled pasta? Though that may be more messy
I'd probably try and eat it ngl 😅

I'd do that too.... 😂
Oh trust me id eat it too
my grandma had me "paint" the sidewalk with water
Thats it, you are going into the "Funny(Impossible)" of my bingo.
Mines too,She always gave me and my younger brother a few brushes, colorfull chalk and a big bowl of water for us to paint on the sidewalk!

I’d be worried about choking or a kid shoving the pasta up their nose or ear canal
That’s why you sit right there and supervise

Could the dry pasta be a choking hazard? Im assuming you'll be with the kid at all times, and I'm not a parent or anything, just curious.
Weird thing but can we appreciate how she blurred the kn*fe blade?
Dry pasta can choke them if they put inside the mouth
