harry has one of the more realistic suggestions tbh. its actual clothes that actual people will want to buy/invest. thx alot. hope you have a good year waiting for you as well!
I have no fashion sense and little interest in fashion but there’s something about this beautiful British man talking about what I should wear that keeps me watching. Keep it up Harry!
I just want to say your jokes are able to crack me up every single time without fail. And your videos are incredibly informative as well. I'm so happy to have found your channel- cant wait for the coming year (:
I've had a pair of cognac brogue boots from vagabond since 2016 and they're still as good as new. the leather have developed this nice patina ... amazing
@@TheBooban i have the jeff chelsea boot and i've stepped in some pretty deep puddles with no issues. The sole seems to be one solid piece of rubber and is glued to the leather
Just got a pair of Solovairs and they're fanastic. My dad thought they were Dr Martens (and looking like docs wasn't my end goal) but the style similarity is undeniable. If you like Docs but want something more sturdy for only slightly more money, Solovairs are the way to go.
I’ve had some red wing 875 and muleskinner iron rangers for a year and they’re both absolutely fantastic pairs, I’d strongly recommend them. If you’re not used to quality leather boots, they might seem expensive and you have to maintain em and break them in but it is SO worth it.
My Iron Ranger's are still not comfortable for longer usage. :( I'd rather switch to something with more padding. I still think Iron Rangers are great boots for motorcycle for example.
Vagabond is a great quality and the price is quite reasonable, I have the Jeff Chelsea for a year now and I am super happy with how good they keep doing even on wearing them in a continuous winter country like Norway 😂 happy new year Harry thank you for making us look better all the time 😊
Hey, looking to buy them. How chunky are they on foot? Like generally, not only the midsole. Do they follow the ankle nicely? Thank upfront for the reply… 🙂
Those Ami boots are lush! I'm in the market for new combat boots so I'll be keeping an eye on those for sure. Love my Red Wings but it's a tough break in period. Happy New Year bro!
Found your videos recently but love that you don’t waste time to getting to the products. Hate when other channels waffle on just to hit the 10 min mark…
Awesome selection. Was especially interested in hearing about the Solovair boots, as I was looking at getting a pair of dr martens but they don’t do a 8.5 size and found them incredibly uncomfortable in the size 8. And to hear the Solovair are better quality and made in the uk, is a win/win.Thank you.
I think redwing Moc toes are the best boots for everything. Can work and relax in them. Also the wedge sole makes them feel more like a sneaker on the foot then boot.
As a boots obsessive this is a great way to kick off 2023 hahaha. I’ve kinda had my eye on the redwing pair for a bit so 2023 might be when I pull the trigger. Surprised at the lack of docs tho. I know they are not exactly ‘buy for life’ quality anymore but in terms of looks they are still timeless and super versatile. I’d also recommend Blundstones.
Just picked up a pair of redwing iron rangers. My dad has had his pair of classic Mocs for 15 years and they are still going strong, my uncle has had his pair for even longer! Well worth the cost imo. He’s had them resoled a few times and keeps good care of the leather and they look as good as a new pair.
Anything from Redwing and Thursday boots will cover most needs with high quality leather and ability to resole them down the road...good investment pieces that will last years if you take care of them
I’ve never worn boots but feel like it’s time to step out of the comfort zone. Can’t decide if military style or Chelsea’s are the best to start with. Thanks for the recommendations.
I'd say that Vagabond boots are quite amazing for the price, but the one major problem I've had with them is that they're often quite on the heavy side...
as for hiking /work boots , i find grisport are really good and cheap , from 50-100eu , made in italy got a paire ware them for 5 years everyday still look good ,
Your English is clear and pleasant - is your pronunciation what I've read is called received or BBC? I'm disappointed you didn't clarify why you felt Redwing were ugly and how this changed. I hoped you would treat various Jodhpur interpretations. Just recently I've been curious about Ariat paddock boots with front zipper which promise warmth and to be waterproof?
I do have a pair of vagabonds oddly enough. I've owned them for about 3 years and hold up so much better than expected. Too bad its construction is only cemented, but it is expeted given the price.
Recently just purchased a pair of boot from zara x studio nicholson collection, i reckon it's a not so pricey start into boots. Also, i think the Eytys michigan boots look interesting, robust.
nice video Harry, and happy new year! Would you mind doing a "the best smart/casual shoes" kind of video? An example would be a lugged-soled derby shoe, smart but the lugged sole and chunkiness give it versatility.
would you do a video on outfit ideas for how to style all these types of boots? it would be a really helpful and interesting follow-up video to this one!

I want to buy an "entry" pair of boots since i haven't had one yet and my question is: What are you going to recommend for a teenager and what i mean is if i should go with combat boots, chelsea, if i should go with suade or normal leather, colors, etc.?
I'm wondering whats the general opinion on Ecco shoes? There are some gorgeous classic chelsea boots right now in their stores. I feel they are comfy and affordable, but are never mentioned
I have two pairs of Thursdays. a pair of captains and dukes. Both suede pairs. If you get a good pair, then they're nice for the price. But their QC can leave a bit to be desired. My captains are nice, The dukes came with scuffed suede and a decent sized scuff on the leather welt. That being said, they offered a partial refund so I'm just going to live with them, rather than trying to get a perfect pair. Can't notice the flaws on feet and they're just going to get worn over the years anyways. Lol. Lots of black recs in this video, it's to be expected I think but funny to me personally, they are the easiest colour to match I suppose! I love brown boots or boots with lighter shades of leather or in the case of Viron, apple waste and recycled Evian bottles! Ha ha ha. Red wings take the biscuits for me personally though. They are fantastic boots. I bought Thorogoods when I started looking into boots(still going strong after 4 years) and they are fantastic boots but Red wing are a step above for me. The dream boot is a Red wing Harvester but they were unfortunately a limited EU only run and there's no sign of them coming back.

Can you step in puddles? My Vagabond soaks in water. Not through the leather. Through the _soles_. Never had a shoe do that.
