Longtime Alabama fan here and I wanted to say how great of a game SC played! We didn't beat SC, the missed field goal and turnover won the game. SC outplayed us today and Coach Beamer out coached our coaching staff today. I think Beamer is a great coach and SC is a very talented team. We squeaked out that W, but SC controlled the game better. Great game! Our coach doesn't understand SEC is big rivalry games and smash mouth football. That game could have easily went the other way and truly as much as it hurts as a Bama fan to say this, SC deserved to win it.

It’s so obvious that youth, coaching (OC inconsistency specifically), and a terrible kicker are why we are where we are halfway through the season. Those things improve, we finish the season 9-3, they don’t improve we are looking at 6-6. It’s as simple as that.

Out of eligibility...early draftees....and the portal. Next year will be bad on defense. NOW... If we could get Harbor back to his natural position of DE (or "edge" for you youngins), and get Sellers as middle linebacker or possibly other side edge... we'd have something. Then of course we could insert our 3rd string QB that can actually throw and has a Marino like quick release...But alas, I'm sure we'll see Sellers air mailing 15ft over the head passes to our receivers again...and our win/lose point ratio will get much worse next year.

Can’t really blame this one on the coaching. Why throw it to the end zone when you only needed about 15 yards for another chance at 3 for to win. The defense is really good and if we could just eliminate the mistakes on offense I feel like we would have a chance to win some games. I guess this is the good and bad of a rookie QB. He made some really good plays today but the bad plays were extremely costly.

Beamer your job right now to to retain our defensive players. Get them what they need. Money and deals, looks, whatever it take because you have a championship level defense. The offense will get better but you need to retain players.

It’s a real problem that Beamer is proud of the teams effort today. He is absolutely right about nobody being surprised. Our O Line gives up the most sacks in the country and our QB’s can’t stop turning the ball over. We have great talent and he deserves a ton of credit for that but if he feels bad for the guys because the keep experiencing losing then he needs to make the coaching changes that will make them better.
I do not know what the offensive call was for that last play but all you needed was 10-15yrds to give the field goal kicker a chance to win the game. That last play was a boneheaded play. At the end of the day it goes in the L column when you had a chance even with the missed 2 pointer and amazing onside recovery. Definitely a hard one to take when it was in your grasp. It is also safe to say Alabama is not the same Alabama under Saban having been upset by unranked Vandy the week before and nearly upset again by unranked Carolina.

You have a talented team no doubt, but undisciplined at crucial times. This was a much better performance on offense - especially the play calling. The defense is one of the best in the country, and Clayton White deserves to be a Head Coach if not here at SC one day, then somewhere.
If we play like this every game we win 7 games easy. The problem is we are never consistent. I bet we go to Norman next week as a 3 point dog only to get blown out and lose by 3 touchdowns.

Coach you only had a chance at all because they did score on that play. You never would've gotten the ball back if Alabama played it right. Dude should've gone down at the 5 yard line and they kneel it out. I notice that situational football is never an emphasis apparently. Clemson vs. SC at the start last year ... Rattler throw a lateral that's dropped and nobody thinks to jump on it they just let Clemson scoop and score. How do they not know of the possibility of that happening and try to cover the ball? Nobody tried...not Rattler, not Legette...nobody. There are other plays. Today the lineman catching that ball rather than knocking it down. There are one to two plays like that every week. That's on coaching.

As an SC alum, I really love Beamer, I just wish we could find a way to win these close games. We go head to head with some of the best teams in the SEC, but can't seem to find ways to get the win. Not sure what the answer is. We are so close every time, but just find a way to blow it. 4 turnovers just isn't going to cut against any good team, you're going to get burned. If Sellers had a bit more time on that throw, it's a TD and we win that game. Hopefully, we can still go 7-5 this year and get to a bowl game.
This team is really close to getting over the proverbial hump. I'm reminded of the beginning of the Spurrier years when we were hanging with the best teams in the country only to come out with a heartbreaking loss. Once we figured out how to play to win games instead of playing not to lose them, it started a magical run. I understand Shane's disappointment but when I see a team that is making progress, last week being an exception, I can't help but be excited for what the future holds. One change that needs to happen is to shake up the coaching staff and put Shawn Elliot back as the O-line coach and move the O-line coach in charge of TE's. Elliot by far is the best O-line coach we have had in the last 15yrs, and we are lucky as hell to get him back.
I personally wish they would coach ball carriers to quit this habit of stopping forward progression in order to try and juke somebody. That crap never works. Get low and plow. Especially if you’re a 243 pound dude with thighs like tree trunks. If nothing else changed, that alone would have won the past 2 games.
All these people with these moral victories. L is an L, nothing new for USC. Get the ball back and decide to keep throwing it instead of just letting Rocket run the ball a few times to get in FG range.
Can't even be that mad today. Played hard, kept it close to a Bama in Tuscaloosa. Regardless of specifics that's always something to be proud of. Just too many mistakes from Sellers, it was his first big road test, and he had his moments too. Can't be too crucial right now, we gotta trust he improves as the season goes on. We were never gonna be winning 8-9 games with the schedule we got in this new look SEC losing Rattler and XL, even for as good as the defense is.
Why were the coaches not sitting down and going over video with Norris S. when he was just sitting there, under the tent in the last couple of minutes, there was no coaching going on like if we get the ball back this is what we are going to do. I put it on the coaches again
Whole team deserves better. Defense makes great plays at times, but lets big ones happen too. Other than Vandy, Kentucky, and a bad Florida team in 2021, when was the last time the defense held an SEC Team under 21 points since Beamer has been here? Never!
I just watched the final play over again and I'm so frustrated. We had an open hitch route and he could've got out of bounds with 2-3 seconds left. Field goal would've been about 50 yards but anything's better than a heave in double coverage. What about the play where Sellers escaped the rush and the receiver drops a wide open touchdown? It's irritating watching us basically give the game away twice to very good teams. I feel sick 😔
Sellers makes some solid plays, but his bad plays are really, really bad. His fumbles have been game changers in the wrong direction. His failure to see open guys and his overthrows at key moments have also hurt real bad. I like him and I'm rooting for him to succeed, but we can't win with these mistakes.

Kennard and Stewart are incredible but we have that talent on the other side of the ball as well we just need better schematics right now it’s easy for defenses to figure us out because we have very little manipulation also Sellers raw talent is outstanding but someone needs to talk to him about decision making he likes to go for homeruns a lot but there’s a lot to be said for going with the most effective decision even if it may not be as flashy sooner that he trusts himself with the ball the better because he’s already good make a decision and have a faith to make it work

Mistakes and bad QB decision-making are killing us. D played a great game except the blown coverage to let Bama score that last TD. Coaches need to play better field position. Pretty simple why we have lost 3 games - sellers stupid ball security. He lacks appropriate focus on protecting the ball. He’s had to have fumbled it away 7-8 times already. On one Second down run he skid very early instead of getting another yard or so and then no first down He HOLDS the f-ing ball on nearly every down. Shane Beamer is 2-15 against ranked opponents at SC. His teams play undisciplined football - excessive penalties, turnovers, etc. This is the identity of a Beamer coached team. Having "expectations" for massive success as a SC fan is laughable. At best, he's a career 8-4 guy!

That said, we need a new o line coach. We have a room full of 4 star o linemen yet we always have an issue and looking to the portal every year. Teasley is not coaching those 4 stars up, the group looks the same every year

Beamer your job right now to to retain our defensive players. Get them what they need. Money and deals, looks, whatever it take because you have a championship level defense. The offense will get better but you need to retain players.

It’s a real problem that Beamer is proud of the teams effort today. He is absolutely right about nobody being surprised. Our O Line gives up the most sacks in the country and our QB’s can’t stop turning the ball over. We have great talent and he deserves a ton of credit for that but if he feels bad for the guys because the keep experiencing losing then he needs to make the coaching changes that will make them better.
The defense played so well. Hopefully we can start winning some more games because these losses have been tough

I do not know what the offensive call was for that last play but all you needed was 10-15yrds to give the field goal kicker a chance to win the game. That last play was a boneheaded play. At the end of the day it goes in the L column when you had a chance even with the missed 2 pointer and amazing onside recovery. Definitely a hard one to take when it was in your grasp. It is also safe to say Alabama is not the same Alabama under Saban having been upset by unranked Vandy the week before and nearly upset again by unranked Carolina.

You have a talented team no doubt, but undisciplined at crucial times. This was a much better performance on offense - especially the play calling. The defense is one of the best in the country, and Clayton White deserves to be a Head Coach if not here at SC one day, then somewhere.

Our team had to play against both Alabama and Sellers. Sellers lost us this game. Hands down. Freshman or not, he’s a grown man who should learn to be resilient and not run as much. Hats off to Coach Beamer, the defense, and every offensive position outside of QB

Coach you only had a chance at all because they did score on that play. You never would've gotten the ball back if Alabama played it right. Dude should've gone down at the 5 yard line and they kneel it out. I notice that situational football is never an emphasis apparently. Clemson vs. SC at the start last year ... Rattler throw a lateral that's dropped and nobody thinks to jump on it they just let Clemson scoop and score. How do they not know of the possibility of that happening and try to cover the ball? Nobody tried...not Rattler, not Legette...nobody. There are other plays. Today the lineman catching that ball rather than knocking it down. There are one to two plays like that every week. That's on coaching.

As an SC alum, I really love Beamer, I just wish we could find a way to win these close games. We go head to head with some of the best teams in the SEC, but can't seem to find ways to get the win. Not sure what the answer is. We are so close every time, but just find a way to blow it. 4 turnovers just isn't going to cut against any good team, you're going to get burned. If Sellers had a bit more time on that throw, it's a TD and we win that game. Hopefully, we can still go 7-5 this year and get to a bowl game.

This team is really close to getting over the proverbial hump. I'm reminded of the beginning of the Spurrier years when we were hanging with the best teams in the country only to come out with a heartbreaking loss. Once we figured out how to play to win games instead of playing not to lose them, it started a magical run. I understand Shane's disappointment but when I see a team that is making progress, last week being an exception, I can't help but be excited for what the future holds. One change that needs to happen is to shake up the coaching staff and put Shawn Elliot back as the O-line coach and move the O-line coach in charge of TE's. Elliot by far is the best O-line coach we have had in the last 15yrs, and we are lucky as hell to get him back.

I personally wish they would coach ball carriers to quit this habit of stopping forward progression in order to try and juke somebody. That crap never works. Get low and plow. Especially if you’re a 243 pound dude with thighs like tree trunks. If nothing else changed, that alone would have won the past 2 games.

Can't even be that mad today. Played hard, kept it close to a Bama in Tuscaloosa. Regardless of specifics that's always something to be proud of. Just too many mistakes from Sellers, it was his first big road test, and he had his moments too. Can't be too crucial right now, we gotta trust he improves as the season goes on. We were never gonna be winning 8-9 games with the schedule we got in this new look SEC losing Rattler and XL, even for as good as the defense is.
Shane we played To Win the difference is we gotta protect the ball better. Overall to comeback 14-0 against that team was something to build of.
Why were the coaches not sitting down and going over video with Norris S. when he was just sitting there, under the tent in the last couple of minutes, there was no coaching going on like if we get the ball back this is what we are going to do. I put it on the coaches again

Whole team deserves better. Defense makes great plays at times, but lets big ones happen too. Other than Vandy, Kentucky, and a bad Florida team in 2021, when was the last time the defense held an SEC Team under 21 points since Beamer has been here? Never!

I just watched the final play over again and I'm so frustrated. We had an open hitch route and he could've got out of bounds with 2-3 seconds left. Field goal would've been about 50 yards but anything's better than a heave in double coverage. What about the play where Sellers escaped the rush and the receiver drops a wide open touchdown? It's irritating watching us basically give the game away twice to very good teams. I feel sick 😔

Sellers makes some solid plays, but his bad plays are really, really bad. His fumbles have been game changers in the wrong direction. His failure to see open guys and his overthrows at key moments have also hurt real bad. I like him and I'm rooting for him to succeed, but we can't win with these mistakes.

This game ain't no cheerwine and it sure as shit ain't fun with our record. I thought we'd do something "Dark Horse" level this season. In spirit we actually did. I was so pissed off about LSU, bye week, Ole Miss (beyond pissed given the outcome this week) and now Alabama given all those outcomes the fighting Gamecocks showed up again. Shane Beamer is a great coach, hell he's "Game Coach" in my household.
No matter how shitty this season has been so far and we as Gamecocks know the feeling BUT we have beat the dogshit out of every team except Ole Miss. We're in for something good I believe something on Spurrier levels, yet I think it's a magic beyond that. I've always said just ONE National Championship and I'd have my peace with Football and I believe most South Carolinians feel the same. Coach Beamer has the ability (especially with recruiting) he'll deliver but we gotta have a little more patience. Hell I was worried they would fire him after today.
He's got a hell of a ball team. Let him cook.

im so thankful other people are starting to see this..Sellers is not getting better, he is literally most of the reason we lost today and it gets old hearing how "good" hes playing..he makes lousy decisions, he isn't smart with the ball, throws into coverage way too much, etc...the fact is that Sellers wouldn't be a starter at any other school in the SEC

Kennard and Stewart are incredible but we have that talent on the other side of the ball as well we just need better schematics right now it’s easy for defenses to figure us out because we have very little manipulation also Sellers raw talent is outstanding but someone needs to talk to him about decision making he likes to go for homeruns a lot but there’s a lot to be said for going with the most effective decision even if it may not be as flashy sooner that he trusts himself with the ball the better because he’s already good make a decision and have a faith to make it work

that's 2 games now we should have won. maybe even 3. Ole Miss score was more lopsided than the game actually was. Every game has been sloppy though, whether it's penalties, individual effort, playcalling, etc.
Mistakes and bad QB decision-making are killing us. D played a great game except the blown coverage to let Bama score that last TD. Coaches need to play better field position. Should have punted instead of attempting that last FG that cut the field in half for Bama to go down and score. Make them go at least 75 yards and earn it.

Pretty simple why we have lost 3 games - sellers stupid ball security. He lacks appropriate focus on protecting the ball. He’s had to have fumbled it away 7-8 times already. On one Second down run he skid very early instead of getting another yard or so and then no first down
He HOLDS the f-ing ball on nearly every down. Many of the sacks are due to him and not oline

Shane Beamer is 2-15 against ranked opponents at SC. His teams play undisciplined football - excessive penalties, turnovers, etc. This is the identity of a Beamer coached team. Having "expectations" for massive success as a SC fan is laughable. At best, he's a career 8-4 guy!
