The Pen F is so beautiful, I wish I could buy that from you Grant!

I'm always on the edge of buying this lens but until now, I could resist but I know that it is a great lens and the range is perfect for my use cases.
I use the 12-60/2.8-4 a lot during the day and I add the 12mm/1.4, 9mm/1.7 and 7.5mm/2 for low light and wide angle situations.
The problem with the 10-25 for me is the size and weight. I don't like to carry to much around.
I'm sure the 10-25 is perfect für professional work but I also think it is important to keep enough options for multi camera setups. If you film an event you might need a fixed camera with wide angle lens and a mobile camera in the hand for flexible shots. For work like this, I would keep the 12-60 and together with the small primes you have for the GX9 and street photography it's possible to do that.
I filmed some company events at work a few years ago (for internal purposes) and the result looked pretty professional.

I've owned the 10 - 25 f1.7 for several years now and trust me you won't regret buying it. I'd like to add its sister lens the 25 to 50 f1.7 when funds allow but like yourself I lean towards a wider field of view. Having such fast aperture zooms gives excellent versatility but given that M43's needs as much light as possible you really can't beat it. I guarantee you zero regrets once you own the 10 to 25 f1.7 😊😉

You are gonna regret dropping that G9 it's so good! Good call selling the Pen F! You'll get much more money.

If you can rent it, that might be a nice way to test. Rhett Thompson has some of the most in-depth videos on this lens and he shares a lot of his experiences. If you need low light performance and a shallow depth of field on a zoom for MFT it is nice and I am glad I rented it, but if you already have a FF camera and lenses it may not be as useful

I say you should get rid off everything with exceptions. I had a bunch of M4/3 lenses and cameras. I decided to downsize to just the GH5mk2, Leica 12mm 1.4, 25mm 1.4 mk2, and the 42.5mm 1.2. I say keep the G9 and don't trade that 42.5 Leica! Try using it more (especially on the G9) for distance shots and I think you may be surprised by the practicality.

I think this video does answer the question of what you really need in 2025, you need the GH7 or G9 II with the sticky and nice PDAF... (you could swap out the GH6 and even the GH5 II for that, and use G9 as your B-Cam)... lens wise the 10-25 is great. You can sell some of the lenses you showed and get one of those. For me personally it's a bit heavy on the MFT, I prefer the 12-35 2.8 zoom, and some little primes on the side.

Well there you go then. I didn't know about this lens. I didn't even know zoom lenses could go to F1.7. 😳
Doesn't surprise me it costs so much, after that. But good luck on consolidating your collection. 😄 I think my thoughts are starting to drift in that direction, too.

Hey there Grant. Just who are you referring to about having a "stack of gear?" LOL. Anyway, I've been going through all my gear as well and will take your advice. (Thank You, by the way) I'll be at the range this weekend to get things sorted out so that I can streamline for 2025. I have way too much gear, and it's distracting. I'm going to start with the G9 and use my HDMI monitor to check focus while shooting. It's not very elegant to look at, but if it solves the issues I've been having, who cares.
On another note, I've been looking at that same lens, actually a pair of them for client work. I'm currently using Olympus 8-25 F4 Pro Lenses that are getting the job done, so I don't have an urgency, but they are on the "get when I can afford it" list. I'd also like to get the companion F1.7 25-50 at some point. If you get the lens, please share how you get on with it.
Thank you again for your time and effort.
    Cheers
    Rick

Hey Grant. Maybe you're just spit balling, but it sounds to me like you have made up you mind, but haven't yet fully committed to getting the 10-25mm. I empathize. I have not used it, but it reads like a fantastic lens. For me, it is too big and way too expensive no matter how great it is. However, if you feel it will be of great use to you in your pro work, it makes perfect sense. As for myself, I have too many cameras and lenses that I rarely/never use anymore. I just have a hard time letting them go. My G9 and GH5 MII however are with me to the end. The GX85 is in very close proximity. Peace.

Nice vidoe how about the 12-35 F2.8? That lens is great with my GH6. Don't sell the G9 :-)

It's a beautiful lens quite too big... you could rent and see if you like and suit for you

I’m a fan of m43 and use several systems om-1 g9ii and pretty much most the lenses. But at some point it your system becomes bigger and heavier that ff gear you just have ask why bother.

You have a bad lens paired with your Pen F, that is why you don't like it.
